We had a stopover at Ollantaytambo for a night on our way from Cusco to Machu Picchu. Even though all of us were not feeling great due to altitude sickness, we decided to try Apu Veronica as our tour guide had recommended the place. Even though we had no reservation, we got seated quickly at around 7.30pm. Felt like a cozy little restaurant with a rustic feel. They had an interesting ritual where the server came and tied up a bib before serving the food! The pasta, pollo saltado, and sizzling chicken on volcanic stone were all top notch. Presentation was amazing! Highly recommend!

This is an excellent little, family-run restaurant. The decor is rustic, and the kitchen is rudimentary, but the food they produce is top quality. You have to try extremely hard to find a bad restaurant in Peru! We were there with a large trekking group, but the service was reasonable given our group size. They have some nice drink options, and the avocado apps are amazing, but the real stars of the show are the meats served on sizzling stones. The veggie options were also excellent, and next time I will order this instead of meat!

Lots of vegetarian options. Some were able to be made to vegan. Atmosphere was nice and the staff was pleasant. Located close to the archaeological site lots of seating.

Our guide recommended this place and we loved it! The ceviche and grilled trout were really delicious! We tried guinea pig here as well but didn't like it too much. Will definitely recommend this place!

We ordered the vegetarian burrito and the quinoa soup (also vegetarian). Both were very tasty! The burrito was excellent in particular and I loved the homemade tortillas you got with it. If you are vegetarian I highly recommend getting that and the soup as well if you are extra hungry. For what it is, this was quite expensive at 91 soles. The other place whose name starts with Apu nearby was a better deal and had better ambiance and service overall. The service here was not good. We were ignored many times and didn’t get enough cutlery or plates even though we mentioned ahead of time we were going to share them. I’m not sure why as the place wasn’t too busy then so there were plenty of opportunities to check on us. It’s surprising as all the other places we’ve been to here have had warm, friendly service.

Obsessed with this place!! Ordered La Trucha en Piedra with a Maracuya drink then returned 3 days later for their Causa Acevichada and and orange juice after a long hike and it was amazing!! Their food is always fresh and so delicious 😋 I’ll for sure be back.

We got scammed, so be careful eating here. They added 50 sol to our bill without any reason. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that because there were four of us, and I realized it later. So, if you want to eat here, I suggest calculating the bill on your own before payment. They have pretty good food, but it's expensive, and the portions are really small.

The restaurant has a pleasant Peruvian atmosphere. The portions are generous, and the food is incredibly delicious. The staff is friendly, and the view is stunning.
