Apukka Resort exceeded all expectations. We stayed in the Cabin King Suite, which was brand new, beautifully designed, and offered striking views of the lake—absolutely stunning. The staff was tremendous—warm, professional, and always willing to help. Every guide we met during activities was outstanding and clearly passionate about what they do. The Reindeer Walk was a one-of-a-kind experience, and the Aurora Hunt on Wheels expedition was unforgettable—we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights, and the guides made it even more special with their knowledge and enthusiasm. This is a place that perfectly blends comfort, nature, and adventure. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rovaniemi!

I don’t know where to start talking about this awesome Resort. My wife and I visited and stayed for 6 days with a sole purpose of having enough time to see the Aurora northern lights. We booked the King Cabin which gave us the night view of stars and aurora at night when there were clear skies. We spent the mornings with at least one activity a day. The most memorable and unique activity was the Sauna by the lakeside. A dip into the cold lake a couple of times during your sauna session is what makes this Finnish experience marvelous and unforgettable. You must go on the 2 km track in the resort where you reach to a tent at the end of the road and a different view of the lake make sure to take some matches and marshmallow for more fun during this walk. |The husky farm across the road was also remarkable and very well organized. Teemu the Husky trainer and his team were very professional and informative. |Make sure to check in with Petty at the reception and ask her for any recommendations as she was the best guide and receptionist we have met. Alwin our hero and fire starter taught us a lot during our stay and has went over and beyond in servicing our needs. The staff at the restaurant day and night were outstanding including the chefs at night as well. This is definitely a place to go back to again and highly recommended.. |The Reindeers inside the resort and the horses are great to walk by during the day. There are lots of other activities to do during autumn season at Apukka that we have yet to go for. |Looking forward to come back and stay there again.

I didn’t stay at the resort, but I did the Arctic Sunset Boat Tour and it was amazing! We cruised along the rivers and watched the sun dip behind the mountains. Then we stopped for crepes and a hot chocolate around the fire that our guide built and lit on the spot! Our guide Joni was so great! He shared so much about the area and parts of the Finnish life. On our way back to the resort, he was sharing information about the constellations and northern lights. This was such a peaceful and beautiful experience

Our Aurora Cabin was very cozy and there are lovely details: the little “fireplace”, blankets, a carafe so you can drink the tab water etc! But the best part ist the glass: We were lucky and saw the aurora from our bed!!! We also loved the alert specifically for the resort! The resort is at a lake and there is a really nice and easy waking trail! The staff was always helpful! The resort has its own ad adventure Center, but we did not book anything there, since we like to travel / experience more individually! There is also some things to mention, that were not ideal: the shower is not great, because you flood the whole floor! A shower cabin would be better. The resort has reindeer, which is sweet! But they had their leash all the time, stepped on it etc. I really don’t approve that! We wild love to come back though!

The room was very nice and well equipped. Service was great. Shoutout to Patty. A great property next to the lake. The activities are very expensive so i suggest you keep your expectations in check in terms of what activities you can do on site. They have a WhatsApp number so you can text for help at any time. Someone came to help us to start a campfire at 1am. Aurora sighting on site (some) not very clear. Quiet and sufficient. Restaurants were closed and needed to be booked in advance so they can cook for you. Very safe and walkable. Nice stroll along the river. There’s a live aurora cam for the property and also an alert app for Aurora for Apukka

We had the most magical family holiday at Apukka Resort in Finland and cannot recommend it highly enough! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Last year we went in autumn and this year returned for summer. ||We stayed in the new family glass igloo, the igloo was stunning with a secret hideaway rooms for the kids, very clean. ||The kids loved seeing the reindeers, the gold rush experience they did for hours and enjoyed roasting marshmallows and sausages. |The huskies were adorable and ww had the chance to pick them up. ||The highlight for the children (and us too!) was the visit to Santa, which was truly unforgettable and full of festive wonder. We made gingerbread cookies, wrote postcards home (they arrived back to the UK), the elves were amazing! The resort itself is beautiful, with stunning surroundings that make you feel immersed in nature yet perfectly looked after, the lake is stunning. We loved the new pedal bikes which are free to use and we used these everyday. We tried a variety of activities including canoeing and riding the water bikes, which were so much fun for the whole family. After a day outdoors, relaxing in the traditional sauna was the perfect way to unwind.||The food was another real treat – every meal was delicious, breakfast choices were great, including the fresh omelette station! The variety and quality were excellent, and the service throughout our stay was outstanding. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always went above and beyond to make our experience special.||Apukka offered the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, and family magic. We have come away with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return. A truly five-star experience!

The location is good, not too far from town but still quiet and close to nature. The room is nice and cozy, with staff and maintenance always available when you need assistance. Feel safe enough to travel alone here as a single female.||||The activity staff are extra attentive and friendly, very knowledgeable and informative. Overall, the experience is good, worth the premium price.||||The restaurant menu is a little small and could be repetitive if you stay longer than a few days.

EVERY SINGLE ACTIVITY costs a small fortune and none are included except a 2km walk along bush land. For instance husky sledding for 2 adults was $600 (£298) and all activities are roughly the same costing. Breakfast was mediocre to say the least and starts at 8am so if leaving early you miss out and are told bad luck. I personally was really looking forward to this resort but was extremely dissapointed. The spa costs $300AUD for 1 hour for 2 and is a portable spa and sauna nothing special.. this resort feels more like a team building exercise and if taking a family is unaffordable unless your income is super high. Not overly impressed at all and feel there are a lot of other resorts that offer more in the way of activities that are included. Hot water lasts 30 mins and takes 2 hours to heat up, no laundry service. ||If you have a fortune to spend then go for it but personally I found it over rated , a little tacky in parts with plastic reindeer and owls.. considering what you pay to stay in the village of glass igloos you would think more would be included. ||Also.. the husky sledding we did choose to do was RUSHED was there all of 1 hour rushing in and out with a guide called Tina who kept saying "we have to be back" another client is doing the reindeer and needs to be back... was terrible.. the apukka said they would give us a 50% refund and that it take 30 DAYS to go back into your card yet they take the money straight away. ||Disgusted 2/10 is my review and I don't reccomend ||My advice choose elsewhere.
