Good Hotel, but Disappointing Treatment||I stayed at this hotel from April 23 to 27, 2025. The location is excellent—just a few steps from the center of Baden-Baden and right across from the Caracalla Baths. The hotel itself is modern and built with high-quality materials. The bed was very comfortable, and the buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious products.||I would have rated this hotel 4 or 5 stars, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by the treatment I received. While the staff was generally polite, there were a couple of incidents that left me quite disappointed.||Upon arrival, I was assigned a room on the ground floor, directly beneath a row of garbage bins outside the window. Since I was staying for four nights, I asked if it would be possible to switch to another room. I was told that there were no other rooms of my category available, and the only option was to upgrade to a superior room, which would cost an additional 70 euros per night. Given the lack of alternatives, I had no choice but to accept.||On the day of my departure, since my flight was later in the afternoon, I requested a late check-out until 3 p.m. I was informed that the latest free check-out was at 1 p.m. (instead of the usual 12 p.m.), and that after that, there would be a charge of 50 euros per hour. At exactly 1 p.m., staff entered my room while I was in the bathroom, which was quite an embarrassing situation, to inform me that I would be charged 50 euros. I finished checking out around 1:15/1:20 p.m., and indeed, I was charged the 50 euros.||While I understand that policies need to be enforced, I feel the approach was overly rigid and could have been handled with more understanding and flexibility. It made the overall experience less pleasant. I’m not sure I’ll return to this hotel despite its many positive aspects, though I will definitely return to Baden-Baden, which is a beautiful town.
