8 course tasting menu. It was a nice setting, but disappointed with the food. Had high expectations; however, felt the flavours for some of the courses were bland and everything else did not blow us away. Was also befuddled with the manager asking us to not have the 8 course menu, when that was the only reason we were coming. If they can’t fit it into the allocated two hour slot, then warn in advance or not offer it. Was rushed, and that combined with the lack-lustre food made for a less-than-satisfying evening. The view was lovely, wine was fine and the staff we’re trying their best to meet our needs. But ultimately we came for the food and to have a nice relaxed evening. Fail in that regard, especially with the $400 price tag. On a final note, we wanted to enjoy the restaurant before closure, and also expected a tour of the kitchen, as noted on their website... it did not happen. No tour. The staff seemed to not know anything about it. Oh well.

We were very warmly welcomed to the restaurant. The service was great minus the fact that for some reason the gentleman who sat us gave us two different wine lists and no menus?? It was a bit odd. So we had to flag down another waiter to give us some. Strange for a fine dining establishment. We opted into the 8 course tasting menu. The food was pretty and tasted good but I will admit that it lacked any ‘wow’. Like the ingredients were fresh and well put together but it wasn’t stand out amazing or anything too unique. We booked with the 50% food deal and we ordered oysters on top of our meal and that wasn’t discounted??? Even though the deal was 50% off all food. We didn’t bother asking or questioning and just paid and left. While the experience was pleasant, there are much better fine dining establishments out there for much cheaper. I’m glad we had the discount, full price wouldn’t have been worth it.

Had the 6 course tasting menu on our anniversary and it was a really great meal. Based on some of the reviews I was expecting to still be hungry after but we were both quite content. The tuna tartare was the highlight for us both, but every other dish was also really delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. The view is also lovely, great atmosphere.

Google
I had high expectations after reading all the recent positive reviews but unfortunately my experience was underwhelming. Although the service was good, the food is average, it doesn't stand out in any shape or form, and does not leave me wanting to return any time soon. The pricing is purely for its location, as the food lacks punch and sophistication. The oysters were nice but it hardly takes any skills since it's served natural. The lamb was too chewy - I wish they had given me a steak knife! There are better options for this price range if you're not after the view.

Service staff were very nice. Food was decent but lacked finesse in details. I must applaud that my steak being done perfectly, and the duck was soft and juicy. Views were great, would've been gorgeous on a bright sunny day.

Enjoyed lunch here on 18/11 at a work Christmas party. Breathtaking views of harbour. We enjoyed drinks and a three course meal. Very modern and unusual menu. The food tasted fantastic but the portion sizes were relatively small. Waiting staff were generally friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a long and relaxed meal in ideal surroundings. Can only imagine what the views would be at night. Unsure of cost as I didn’t pay. The wine selection seemed to be impressive. The only down side I could see was finding a spot on nearby streets frequented by parking wardens. They even had a lift that maybe useful for wheelchair access.

Google
The view here is absolutely amazing. Make sure you ask for the outside seatings. The waiter who served us was very courteous and very attentive. We felt we have been well looked after. The food is amazing here, and normally we are not full from fine dining food but this place filled us up and we walked out with full bellies. Highly recommended.

Came for Saturday Lunch with a medium sized group. 4 course lunch with a mix of BYO and purchased wine. Food was top notch and served with great pacing, service was friendly and helpful and overall experience was top notch. Got a little noisy at times but that's the price for coming to a busy restaurant. Highly recommended

Yelp
Amazing dinner in a very special location. Staff is amazing and looks after you in every way possible. The food was superb. We were full but comfortable. We were not rushed and enjoyed every minutw of it. I definately would go back again next time I am in the area.

Yelp
The food was expensive but amazing food and the flavours oh my god so nice and I loved the fine dining experience with a view of the harbour bridge and Luna park. Worth the money.

Yelp
This has become without a doubt one of the best restaurants around town. With Luna Park on one side, the view of the harbour bridge and the Opera House on a other, and the harbour in between,, you're definitely spoilt for choice when it comes to the view. The waiters are some of the best, and by our third visit (within a 5 week period) knew us by name, and even remembered my youngest sons favourite meal,, which was specially designed by the chef on our second visit. The food is incredible,, you will never be disappointed with the range of flavours, and with a choice of 2, 3 or even 4 courses,, you won't ever leave hungry. From fresh seafood, hand made pastas and hearty meats,, there is something available to please everyone's palate. They have specials on the weekend, and for such a well established restaurant,, is awesome,, though make sure y book ahead,, most times are booked at least two weeks in advance. If you have guests and want to impress them with an amazing evening in Sydney, without having to go into the city,, this is the place for you.

Yelp
Aqua dining is located on Milsons Point, next to Luna Park. Not the easiest place to find - but make your way towards the stairs leading down to Luna Park and you'll find the entrance to the restaurant above the pool. The restaurant leads downstairs, but there is a lift if you need it. The waterfront restaurant is long and has dual rows of tables, one against the wall with couch style seats, which is where we sat, and the other near the windows. Both have incredible unrivalled views of the harbour and it is really pleasant to simply sit and admire the beautiful location. You can see the ferries travelling by, as well as the stunning harbour bridge. It simply is a marvellous location. The day we were there, it was freezing cold, and they had the heat pumped up (slightly too much), but it felt very comforting. We had a party of 9 and they took us to our table, presented us with menus and shortly took a drink order. The service here is A class. They were extremely attentive, filling up glasses, removing plates quickly and presenting the food promptly and it was completely unobtrusive. We were extremely grateful for this, and they didn't seem to mind us handing around presents and staying there for about 4 hours. We also note the venue suits all crowds. A family had a small child there, there were business workers and a large group like ours. We went on a Sunday which is thoroughly recommended as they offer three courses for $75 (normally 2 courses for that price) and you can also BYO your own bottle of wine at $15 corkage which is a big saving for us as the diner. We like fine dining and so does my father, but our other family members such as my sister and mother are quite traditional eaters, and a vegetarian in the group and we found the menu here suits a range of eaters. It is fine dining food that isn't too outrageous for the diner who doesn't take a lot of risks. The food here was absolutely incredible, both in taste and presentation. They describe themselves as contemporary Italian, though to the unknown, you'd probably think it was modern Australian. Given we had a party of 9, we tried a range of different dishes. Plenty of the options are gluten and/or dairy free and some are also vegan. We sampled the outstanding sashimi version of Moreton Bay bug with chickpea and mint as well as the chilled oysters with freeze dried raspberry, white balsamic. Both beautiful seafood options. We also shared the impressively presented baked onion with tomato and smoked cheddar (gf/v) as well as the salt baked beetroot, pomegranate, goat's milk, Szechuan pepper (gf/v). Absolutely lovely. Given it's an Italian restaurant, there's a number of pasta dishes on offer. We tried the Risotto, with nettle, pine nuts (gf/v) and it was thoroughly enjoyed. You can select a pasta as either one of your entrée or main dish selections. For mains, we enjoyed the amazingly tender dry-aged duck breast, red witlof with pickled blackberries as well as the ever popular, melt-in your mouth beef cheek with roast pumpkin, sage, port. We had a few bowls of the crunchy roast potatoes with rosemary as well. All meal options were delicious and we could not fault anything. Desserts were also of a high standard and we sampled most including the salted caramel vacherin, chocolate sorbet (gf), the White chocolate & ginger panna cotta, lime & coconut, miso sablé and my favourite, the Pearl barley ice cream, coffee crumble, caramel. So delicate and creamy. We also loved the cheese platters. Just when you think you're finished, they bring out some sweet petit fours! We loved our visit to Aqua Dining and certainly will be back!

Yelp
Wow we had such a lovely time in a pretty unlikely location. Aqua is above the public Olympic swimming pool in north Sydney. But don't be deceived. The view is absolutely stunning of the sydney opera house and iron bridge. Not to mention the swimming pool itself. A neat place and great food!

Annalisa S.

Yelp
Great view from here! It's actually a sister restaurant to Ripples down the street, which was good as well. It's pretty neat to sit right above the Olympic pools! I loved the chocolate cake dessert with a spectacular red dessert wine, they complimented each other perfectly. The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for other places to visit!

Yelp
A good place for special celebrations with a nice view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera house. Service was excellent. The waitress was able to explain the menu well and came to check on us regularly (but not too intrusive). Food was good as well. Spanner crab linguine - Highly recommended. Just enough sauce to coat the pasta and they were generous with the crab. Purple gnocchi - Taste was OK, not memorable. Nice presentation on the plate Smoked duck breast - I didnt like the plums on the plate, it was overpowering but a good dish overall. Strawberry, cocoa & hazelnut crumble - I will not order this again. Al the components did not come together for me....and the strawberries were really tart (eeks!). More importantly, it was NOT braces friendly An overall enjoyable meal, i would probably come back again :)

Yelp
Once a year I take my best client out somewhere special for dinner. I had been to Aqua Dining several times. I even had one of my birthday parties there, but I hadn't been for quite some time. I looked up the specials for September and I decided to make the trek over the bridge for their birthday celebration degustation. Service via email and on the phone was excellent as I was told they could accommodate my client who is a pescatarian. We arrived at 6.30pm and told our waiter we were in no rush and then we decided to have a cocktail. Unfortunately our 1st course came out before we were finished our drink so the waiter offered to bring us our Prosecco at the end of the meal instead. Several delicious courses later - the food as always was breathtaking - the manager came out and informed us he would be unable to serve us our last 2 drinks. Honestly puzzled we asked why and he mentioned RSA. By this stage we'd had one cocktail and three serves of wine with our degustation which was for 6 courses with 5 matching wines. We were both shocked and offended and asked to know exactly what we had done to be cut off. The manager couldn't give us a valid explanation other than our waiter had flagged it. We then suggested ways the situation could have been handled better. Bring us more water, offer us more bread, maybe the waiter should have suggested that we shouldn't have a cocktail if we were having the degustation? Anything other than offend and embarrass us at an upmarket restaurant. I have never had this happen to me before in any restaurant. The manager Daniele Brembilla then sat down to talk to us and address our concerns, as we were going to write a scathing review about how the situation had been handled. Water was sent out and more bread. Daniele agreed that if he had taken the time to speak with us earlier he probably wouldn't have cut us off. Our prosecco and desert wine was then bought out with a cheese platter. We ended up chatting, having a few more wines and a fabulous discussion about life the universe and everything into the wee hours of the morning until well after closing time. What almost ended as a disastrous evening for my client and myself, not only horribly embarrassing and insulting was saved by the time and effort Daniele then put in to talking to us, getting to know us and smoothing the whole situation over. It's probably the longest "dinner" either of have ever had (8 hours!) but thanks to Daniele we left smiling and have a silly story to tell.

Yelp
The food and service is amazing- very attentive staff and the views are second to none, I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
No, it's not an underwater dinner party - Aqua Dining takes its name from the North Sydney Olympic Pool above which the restaurant resides. The rhythmic sound of freestyling swimmers sets the mood at this contemporary restaurant, while picturesque harbour views continue the water-themed backdrop. Granted they were weeknights, but the couple of times I've visited have seen a somewhat empty dining room. I found this surprising, as the menu is pretty affordable as far as Sydney restaurants go - main courses come in at about $39 on average, if you don't include the deluxe $59 wagyu rib eye - and especially considering the incredible views from the oversized glass windows. Shame, as the mod oz menu peppered with updated Italian dishes makes for a great example of Sydney dining, and in a perfect location.

Yelp
Suspended above North Sydney Olympic pool with spectacular views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, Aqua Dining is a chic and stylish place to dine. What makes Aqua Dining different from other fine dining restaurants in Sydney has to be the juxtaposition between the million dollar views and the swimmers doing late night laps in the pool. This atmosphere breaks the tension that you often find in fine dining restaurants and brings an air of effortlessness to the whole experience. The menu delights with an array of Italian and French influenced choices. With that said my pick has to be the seared scallops with blood orange risotto and tarragon ($29) that are just unforgettable.

Yelp
Great view of the Opera House and the city. The food was eclectic and the portions were too small. The food was ok, not mind blowing. Definitely overpriced. The staff was friendly but pretentious. I left inspired to go swimming but not to recommend it to others.

Yelp
Aqua Sydney is a destination dining experience. Make sure you get a table outside on the terrace. The views of Sydney Harbour are outstanding and the dining is first class. Have the Oysters to start.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Not an inexpensive night out by any stretch, but the food was decadent, delicious, superbly presented and sooooo good (nothing disappointed)... the service was top notch and the views across Sydney Harbour are just world class... Absolutely top notch ... totally perfect evening... :-)

Yelp
Wonderful view over the Brigde and the Opera house. The service quite slow. The food was really good.

Yelp
We went with a large group for a pre-wedding function. We had a set menu with 3 choices for each meal. The choices were reasonable and the food was well cooked and presented. The only thing missing for the mail meal was a serving of vegetables as the meal only had a garnish of pretty vegetables. There was a green leaf salad which wasn't exciting. The service was was excellent. The views from the restaurant are world class.

Yelp
We celebrated my boyfriends birthday and we weren't disappointed. Oysters and prawns for entree was perfectly cooked. I loved my flathead complimented well with lightly fried sprout leaves and lemon hollandiase. While the sirloin was cooked to perfection according to my fussy boyfriend who likes it more rare medium and considered it the best ever! Sides of roasted garlic potatoes came out hot not too garlicky. Price was worth the service and quality of food. Highly recommend the place!!!

Yelp
Had the lamb shanks. Very tender. Great view of Sydney Vivid lights festival. A must stop if you are visiting Sydney during the festival.

Yelp
I have been to Aqua Dining on several occasions and every time I have left with a smile. The food here is creative, well cooked, relatively affordable, and consistent. The location is excellent, as it is overlooking North Sydney pool, with the Harbour Bridge in the backdrop. Service was friendly. The scallops are probably my favourite in sydney, with the quail coming in a close second. Oh yes, the desserts are also fantastic.

Yelp
Enjoyed a beautiful 3 course menu for a family celebration. Service was great, the waiters made us feel really special. We had a long lunch on a saturday and I thought we may have been rushed out, but there was only one seating so we were able to stay as long as we wanted! Try the blood orange cocktail!
