5 Restaurants With Outdoor Seating To Get Dressed Up For That You Can Book Now

"A fifth floor terrace overlooking Regent’s Street is exactly where you should be when wearing your new jacket for the first time. And it’s probably the right place to whip out those OTT sunglasses as well. This Japanese restaurant and terrace bar’s menu has everything from sushi and tempura, to robata and wagyu beef. We love their soft-shell crab tempura and scallop roll, but whether or not you head there in your best outfit, make sure to order their ‘Te Mana’ lamb cutlets as well." - rianne shlebak

Aqua Kyoto Review - Soho - London - The Infatuation

"Although this spot is just off Oxford Street, it’s not the kind of place you head to after a long day of shopping. This Japanese restaurant and terrace bar is the kind of place you travel for. Their à la carte menu has a selection of sushi, tempura, robata, and wagyu beef. The ‘Te Mana’ lamb cutlets are a must order, and although you can’t really go wrong with any of the sushi here, there are some that are more memorable than others. The tuna and spicy tabiko, soft-shell crab tempura, and prawn tempura and scallop are all excellent. And for £18 a roll, you’re going to want to remember it. photo credit: Giulia Verdinelli" - Rianne Shlebak

The staff were extremely accommodating and made adjustments for us accordingly. They were also very friendly, pleasant, and very professional. The restaurant itself had a very warm and classy ambience. We went for a birthday dinner, and it was perfect - even prepared a birthday sweet treat at the end of the meal for us! The food was also an incredible experience, with a live view of the chefs and thoughtful dishes, which embraced a lot of flavours. I highly recommend a fine dining experience. Thank you!

Beautiful Presentation, But the Food Doesn’t Match the Price — and Portions Are Small Visited this Japanese restaurant recently and left with mixed impressions. The venue is stylish, the ambiance is elegant, and the presentation of the dishes is truly beautiful — everything looks high-end and carefully arranged. However, when it comes to the taste and value, the experience didn’t meet expectations. While the food looks impressive, the flavors were quite bland and forgettable. It felt like the kitchen focused more on appearance than on delivering a rich, satisfying taste. Another big downside was the portion size — the dishes were very small, especially considering the premium prices. For what you pay, you’d expect either exceptional taste or at least more generous servings. Sadly, it delivered neither. To be honest, even Eat Tokyo, which is known as a more casual and affordable chain, serves better-tasting food, and with more substantial portions. It’s surprising, because this restaurant clearly aims to position itself as a more high-end spot. There’s definitely potential here — the atmosphere and presentation are great. But for now, it feels like style over substance. I’d love to return in the future if the flavors improve and the value becomes more balanced.

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Food was plentiful and of incredible quality and beautifully presented. Service was professional yet friendly. The DJ with the chilled music enhanced the atmosphere. One of the best London experiences to date. Will definitely be back!

Me and my boyfriend came to Aqua Kyoto for our date night and it was such a lovely evening. The service was exceptional from all staff, the atmosphere and aesthetic is beautiful and the food was unreal. From walking into reception till leaving we were looked after and catered to well. We would 100% recommend!

I had such a fantastic experience thanks to our wonderful waiter, Katie! As a vegetarian, I sometimes struggle to find truly exciting options when dining out — but Katie absolutely nailed it. She was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful, taking the time to understand what I like and recommending some of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever had. Each dish was spot on, and her friendly, upbeat energy made the whole evening even more enjoyable. Thank you, Katie, for making my meal memorable — you’re a star!

Exceeded expectations!! The place is great, wonderful ambience. Service is on top. Thank you to the people taking care about our experience. Food was exceptional. Very delicious, flavourful, beautiful served. We went for brunch option and I would say it was a lot of food. You have 1 main (mushroom fried rice is top recommended), starters to share, side dish and unlimited sushi. All is fresh, delicious. Definitely place to come back again.

It was my 30th birthday and we decided to try the sushi brunch. All I can say is INCREDIBLE. It really blew us away! The service, food, atmosphere… everything! We will be back for sure!!

Google
The food, service & atmosphere were brilliant. I really like the loud music but then everyone is battling to talk and it’s a crescendo of noise. The one thing I found really annoying was the email the day before about no sports wear trainers you will be turned away only to walk in and see lots of trainers being worn

Yelp
Aqua Kyoto is all about having a luxury experience. It offers contemporary Japanese cuisine, including sushi and hot dishes, in a chic setting with a rooftop terrace that provides stunning views over Regent Street. The interior is stylish and modern, with dim lighting and live DJ sets during their weekend brunch. When we entered the restaurant, I could smell delicious food everywhere! The dishes tasted fresh and authentic. The portions were small but easy to share among guests. I recommend going with friends to share and enjoy as much as possible from all the dishes. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations. While it was a memorable dining experience with high-quality food and a fashionable ambiance, it was on the pricier side.

Yelp
Some of the finest sushi in the city with beautiful presentation. Portion sizes are small but easily shared. The seared black cod was exceptional. Good cocktails and seductive atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
The place has a nice modern interior. The lighting is a bit dim but suitable for an intimate gathering. The Japanese dishes taste authentic and fresh. The portions are small but are easy to share among guests. It was a pleasant experience dining at this place. On the same floor, there's also another Spanish restaurant under the same name (Aqua Nueva). I would definitely come back again to check that one out.

Yelp
Rude staff, do not fill drinks in the bottomless brunch, have to keep asking. Didnt even get my last drink. Had an email from the manager asking for feedback but obviously because it wasnt good he didnt reply. Went to have a drink on the balcony in the sun, no staff at the bar to serve you. Our waitress was moody and so unfriendly, we said please remove the service charge and her snappy response was "why?" Foods nice but you sont get half as much as you get at ROKA. Not worth the money. Go ROKA, NOBU or Sexy Fish instead, service is much better, they actually appreciate having you. Will not be returning to this place.
