Resort has a unique mix of luxury, natural and privacy. Beach is world class. Rooms are eco lux. Service is provided by dedicated professionals. Food is great. Main activity besides beach, was monkey, crab, and bird watching. Snorkeling was fun. Worth the money. Second stay was even better than our pre-pandemic first trip.

Cannot ask for more. 100% worth the trek. We always have a fabulous time here! Beautiful tree houses with spa, comfortable beds, clean, amazing views, private beach, and delicious food. Every time we stay we are able to experience different animals - a special treat! This time we saw baby turtles, howler monkeys, and beautiful birds. Will be coming back again.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! The hotel is closed. I was looking for a hotel to stay in, this came up as an option. I booked it and thought all was great. I drove 3 hours only to find out when upon arriving they are no longer in business. The hotel was either sold or I'm not certain what happened, but I had to drive around to find something else.

It's not often you can have the opportunity to stay in a tree house and this resort provides an amazing experience with your stay. The room views are beautiful and relaxing, the private beach provides memorable sunsets, and the beach restaurant provides yummy drinks and food.

Aqua is in one of the most magical spots you can find. Thos was our second visit. We absolutely loved our one bedroom tree house with a pool. The monkeys came every morning to visit and the staff is super nice. The beach is absolutely spectacular and we had it to ourselves most if the time. If you want peace and quiet and nature, this is the place to be! The breakfast that was included was good and the drinks are super yummy. We were disappointed in dinner but the town of Gigante is a 7 minute drive and has lots of yummy options.

We came here for 6 days on part of our honeymoon. We had a beautifully located treehouse that looked out onto Redonda Bay. A great retreat from the busy world. The spa treatments were great also and the staff were accommodating for any of our needs or tours we wanted arranged. ||Defo take them up on the hike to Gigante Pie which is an included excursion (only for the nimble footed). The view was great when you get to the top! ||If you don't have a car for the trip. Would recommend stopping at a shop before you arrive to get any supplies you want (snacks, drinks etc) to have in your treehouse, as the nearest shop is in El Gigante which is a leisurely 30 min walk. The restaurant/bar is down by the beach but sometimes you just want a beer and a sarnie sat up in your treehouse without having to order and wait for it to come to you(unless you want to be waited on hand and foot!).||There are currently some renovations and expansion being done, so just be aware of this, as you may hear the odd drilling on some days, but we were visiting off peak and it's got to be done at sometime!||Also be aware these treehouses are built into the cove, so lots of steps to access them all. Definitely helped our cardio!

I stayed at the luxury treehouse villa and must say it was exactly as pictured. The treehouses are nestled between the trees with enough space between the other villas so you’re given an adequate amount of privacy. If you’re a nature lover like myself this is Resort for you. I had some minor issues with the Wi-Fi when I arrived but they quickly came and fixed it. That’s one thing that stood out the most for me was how quickly and efficiently they solved whatever minor issues arouse during our stay. The staff was super friendly and amazing helpful however not too many spoke English but that just made me practice my Spanish even more 😊. Please note the reviews about the stairs are True!! Those stairs are not for weak and the fact that beach bar which is the only restaurant on site is at the bottom of those stairs means you have to travel up and down the stairs multiple times during the day. So be prepared for nice workout. |I only had one issue with my stay was that the breakfast included that was advertised only applies to two menu items and not the entire breakfast menu. I think this should be better stated on booking website and customers should be aware that.|Overall I really enjoyed my stay at Aqua oceanfront Resort and have already recommended it to some friends looking to visit Nicaragua soon. |

Our vacation to Nicaragua was ruined by this resort. My fiancé, our baby and I booked a Treehouse suite for 3 nights. When we checked in the office boy told us our room was ready but there was a maintenance man changing out a lightbulb. We said that was fine and they showed us to our room. As we entered, the room was 90 degrees—this is where the trouble began. They checked us into our room knowing the A/C was broken. We decided to keep ourselves and our baby cool by using the pool that shares a wall with our treehouse. We grabbed an early dinner, and 3 hours later the A/C was still not fixed. I had to take the baby to the office and hangout there as that was the only place I could keep her from overheating. The office minions said they could move us to the bottom floor which had two twin beds. We said no as this was a family vacation and that is not what we booked, and it didn’t have a pool. The office boy went to get a more “official” office lady who tells us we didn’t book a room with a pool. Except the pool is literally sharing a wall with us. Her resolution was to move us to a room without a pool so we’re not tempted to use it and then move us to the twin bed room the following day as the room without a pool is booked. We said we did not want to keep packing and unpacking and a room with 2 twin beds does not work. We will not be downgrading. She said we need to decide what we’re doing as she needs to make sure her calendar is organized. There was no sympathy from this lady. They then tried to move us to another treehouse that was obvious it hadn’t been used in a while. I understand we are in a forest, but when I walked into this room spiders literally scurried across the floor and were on the bed. The pool was filthy and the chairs belonging to the adjacent treehouse hadn’t been cleaned in a while either. It was obvious this treehouse had not been occupied or clean for some time. While my fiancé went to get our bags a housekeeping lady came and I told her the place was filthy. She took the pillow, shook the spider off and put it back. My fiancé then comes (20 mins later) and says the A/C is fixed in our original room. We move all of our stuff back and unpack. The property manager sent us margaritas, and we had dinner in our little tree house.||We woke up to the sound of birds chirping and waves crashing. Our vacation had begun! OR WE THOUGHT SO. Around 1pm I woke up from a nap with the baby, both of us drenched in sweat. The room was again in the 90’s and the A/C broken. If this place hadn’t advertised the A/C this would be a different story however we chose it as we brought our 6 mo old. The property manager sent the technician, we hung out in the pool we’re not supposed to use and hours later it still was not fixed. I again, took baby to the office to cool down. The property manager, who I want to stress did everything in his control to lighten the situation, said we could stay at his house which was up the hill. The resort was fully booked, there was nowhere for us to go and the A/C was not going to get fixed. So we went to stay with him. He and his wife were great to us and this situation was truly out of his hands. The resort set up a romantic dinner which was dreadful as we had just spent the entire day with nowhere to go. We decided to leave a day early however as this is not the vacation we planned, nor the place we paid for. We spent 3 days, and 2 nights packing and unpacking in a 90 something degree room and ARE UNABLE TO GET A REFUND. ||**The villas are each privately owned, which means the property manager is dealing with several owners, convincing them to update their treehouses. The Aqua Resort then rents them out, making it hard for the property manager to offer anything other than a few free food items and drinks. Providing a refund would require him to ask the accounting department which he ensured us would decline it. To top it off we were charged $160 for the food and drinks we ordered at checkout. We will definitely be disputing this charge as nothing we paid for was provided. Although beautiful, I do not recommend this resort as their customer service is disrespectful.
