"Just a few blocks from Copacabana Beach, I found this hostel perfect for travelers seeking a quieter stay while still being social — the welcoming staff organize frequent group activities (tours and hikes) and there's even a hostel WhatsApp group and a friendly hostel dog. The pod-style bunk beds have privacy curtains, individual reading lights and sockets, large lockers, and every room has an attached balcony; there are female-only dorms and everything is always kept sparkling clean. I appreciated the various common areas, including a coworking space and a rare-on-hostels gym, plus a rooftop terrace with stunning ocean views. Budget travelers will like the fully equipped kitchen and complimentary buffet breakfast (homemade bread), though note the hostel sits at the top of a very steep hill (cheap motorbike taxis wait at the bottom)." - Matthew Kepnes

It’s my first experience staying at the hostel in Rio, and it’s been great so far. Very nice and clean place, friendly and helpful staff. Good location, easy to walk to the closest bus stop. Has a great rooftop lounge area and lots of places to sit down and work with your laptop.

Very neat and clean place Not far from the beach but the walk back uphill, I did not like. I like that you join a WhatsApp group for the accommodation and meet people through it. Easy to organise trips. Only protein served at breakfast is eggs, the rest of the spread was great.

Primo experience staying here for 5 nights! Everything you need in a busy hostel, while having so much space to chill alone and interact with others. Highly recommend - staff were so lovely and helpful and free breaky is always a win💪

I stayed there for a week with my friends and everything was perfect. The rooms are very clean, the staff very nice and the rooftop is really great. The location is also great (it is not dangerous at all). I really recommend this place for all travelers who want to enjoy a nice stay in Rio !!

Comfy bed with a curtain, breakfast is great and the hostel is very sociable without being noisy. Set in the pacified Babilonia favela which is really cool and like 5 min walk down to Leme beach.

I’ve been traveling for 2 1/2 months now through South America, Africa, the Middle East, and now Eastern Europe. Aquarela do Lema was the best hostel experience I’ve had by far. I stayed in both the dorms and a private room and both were incredibly clean and comfortable. The hammocks on the balconies were a nice touch. The owners are wonderful. Their children are often playing in the lobby which creates a very nice homie feel. The atmosphere was very social. Breakfast was great. And best of all the staff was really helpful.

Great hostel that attracts a great mix of guests that all seemed to be on the page. It wasn't noisy despite being in a mixed dorm. Every guest I met was super nice! I've never had that type of experience in a hostel before. The rooms were great, staff were helpful, and having a morning breakfast available was a great option. I found it safe to walk up and down the steep hill to end from the hostel which was about 350m from the boardwalk to the hostel. I would definitely go back to stay there again!

This was my first time staying at a hostel. This one had a beautiful view and the host kept the rooms and bathrooms clean. The breakfast was a huge spread of bread and fruits and coffee. Very nice place to stay.
