I just love this little place. The first time I went in, it was just to look around and get a feel for how much koi would cost. I was floored by how cool the displays were! Since then, we’ve bought 8 koi fish from Aquarium. All are thriving. We just bought two pond plants, as well. It’s nice to know there’s still such a specialty, family-owned store in Knoxville.

This is an awesome business! They are so knowledgeable about all sorts of aquatic topics and happy to help you. They are incredibly kind and friendly. Their fish seem to be top knotch and very healthy. My son set up a fresh water tank and got a female Koi Betta along with some plants and companion fish with the help and guidance of the Aquarium staff. The tank and fish are doing fabulous! I'm so glad we went to this business and are definitely customers for life!

Every time I went in the aquarium it was breath taking and awe inspiring. I just love to see the different salt and fresh water varieties it’s really neat to have a different perspective of only one ( fresh) water to brackish to saltwater and I have seriously always wanted a clown fish tank for my elderly mother something small nothing fancy just beautiful and elegant as nature should be. I highly suggest going to here if you have never been before. I will state the kiddos and even if you have no kiddos you will relive and remark the childlike flame and embers that will hopefully pass on to others.

As a customer of this store for more than 20 years and a fish keeper longer, I have to say this is one of the finest stores in the southeast. I regularly attend fish club events around the country, which gives me an opportunity to visit other aquarium stores. I have yet to visit one with as large a variety of both fish and products. Though the store has knowledgeable staff, not all of them are. That's okay. Retail like this often employs younger, part time staff. A thorough understanding of fish keeping doesn't happen overnight, so it's expected that some newer staff won't know everything. Aquarium Knoxville has good people, and it's a solid business. Otherwise, it wouldn't still exist after 40 years. If you aren't happy about something when you visit, let them know. They'll make it right.

I been at this place 10 to 12 times and three-year ago I could get help but now I can't get no help and I don't give reviews but in the last 4 time (I know 4 times way) I can't get waited on . The last straw was when I was down there for 25 min looking at the fish and my granddaughter wanted a fish and thay pass me I say I need help and he said (I will be with you ) never seen him thay was only 3 customers me my granddaughter and one other guy. There was three workers. So I go looking it looks like he is putting up stock . (OK im here to by a fish and your make me wait for you to put up stock. So I leve he sees me and said sorry I said don't worry. Today( I don't no way) but here I am 2 people me and one other guy and we are looking at cichlid. I wanted one . I wont to get this right . Im right beside this two and the guy wanted to look more and the worker didn't ask me what im looking for are nothing . I don't no .( Must don't wont to sale fish.)

Great aquatic section and knowledgeable staff! was very impressed. My one suggestion for improvement concerns the live aquatic plants. Staff should place water in the plant bags to keep them moist and prevent bruising during customer transport. Also, it would be beneficial to add signage clearly indicating that the CPD (Celestial Pearl Danios) are hybrids. Especially for customers who are looking for pure stock.

New client here. I understand that this place has been in business since the neanderthal, and there’s probably a reason for that. We are new to the aquarium life, and have never been here before. We stood around patiently (20 minutes or so) in the fish section, waiting for some assistance with purchasing plants. After becoming impatient, I had to regrettably interrupt a staff member to request for service, which was then followed by a rather rude response, which included him informing me of the “whiteboard system” , as if I have shopped here several times before (which I had not). No one in the back of the store greeted us, or asked us if we needed any help. While I understand that most of the people who come are regulars and know staff by name, it needs to be remembered that people like us are new to this. I wish our encounter had been more pleasant and welcoming.

Almost a year into this hobby. I've tried multiple stores and none can compare to this place. First, the staff. I feel like family! Orey,Terry, Philip and others are smiling, joking, making you feel comfortable, and at peace inside. Second, they care very much. They help you, and they do not take advantage of you. Third, this store has the most selection of fresh and saltwater fish in the Knoxville area. The fish are monitored for a couple of days, and they make sure the fish eat before even being sold. So you have peace of mind.... This store gives you a good feeling once you enter and leave. You feel like you made friends, became part of a family, a warm love grows inside. This place is blessed. So many years in business,and may God continue to bless them all. NOW, the downside. They close at 5 pm, it's hard for people. Specially since you get off work and the store closes. My wife and I have had multiple experiences where we would go to the store and run into individuals that would shop here, but since the store closes at 5 pm, we would see them at other fish stores that closed later. (their competitor). If this store would close later, like 7 pm, it's would help so we wouldn't have to go to other fish stores.
