Aquarius On The Beach

Modest hotel on the beach. It is small and quiet without the hustle and bustle of too many travelers. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The access to walk the beach or use the kayaks provided free of charge is a nice touch. If booking day trip excursions most companies pick up from this location. The room is very basic but has everything you need. The restaurant was reasonable and the meals were tasty.

I was using Fiji as my hub for battlefield visits to Tarawa and Guadalcanal, and wanted a few days to decompress between flights. Aquarius was a great choice!||While my room was spartan by Marriott or Ramada standards, so what: I had a working TV, adjustable A/C, 5G internet in both room and lobby, staff that's friendly, but does not hover, a wide menu...and all at a fair price!||Being able to bring my laptop to the lobby and working in my PT gear while overlooking the beach...in November...this East Coast USA boy will be returning!||Oh, and I can leave some of my gear with them between my trips out. That was a huge plus.||Highly recommended!!

The location and the room were all good, but the Indian female staff was so rude that I remember it. It was the first time I've been to a hotel where they threw the key on the desk when handing it over. I didn't expect kindness, but at least I don't want to be treated in a way that makes people feel bad

Very small room. Blaring music in the evening. There was a safe in the room, but my husband forgot to put his Kindle into it while we went to breakfast, and it was stolen. Security camera on the stairs showed no one entering the room from the lobby, so we suspect someone climbed into the room via the balcony. The hotel is convenient to good restaurants, and other than the theft, our stay was OK.

We were very disappointed with our booking here.||We booked through Agoda for 2 adults and 1 child. When we showed up the property informed us that we had to pay an extra fee for a bed for our child. This requirement to pay extra for a bed for someone already included in the booking had never been communicated to us in our Booking Confirmation or elsewhere. They also insisted the extra fee be paid in advance. My pregnant wife and I spent 2 hours standing around arguing with them in the heat when we should have been enjoying our holiday.||The property staff showed no interest at all in a compromise or finding alternative solutions. They refused to contact Agoda and insisted we do this ourselves. One lady was lovely but regretful - she seemed to have no options. Multiple staff said they would have their wages deducted if they provided the bed without us paying for it first. This an appalling HR setup.||No one adequately explained to us what our booking for 3 people was for if it did not include 3 beds.||We asked the property for a refund as we now wanted to stay elsewhere but they refused to give us a refund.||The room itself was fine, clean and up to standard, though the shower was unreliable. The beach was very warm and better than we’d expected.||But the whole experience felt like we were being scammed. On top of this, they say they charge a corkage fee if you drink your own beverages in their rooms.||We’ve travelled all around the world and never once have we been asked to pay a previously undisclosed “extra” bed fee for someone included on the booking.||Generally they don’t appreciate the fundamental basics of customer service: That you should be clear about what people are paying for, and that you should take steps to remedy the situation when you have misrepresented the costs. Especially when the customer is not at fault at all.

We stayed here because the prices on Denarau were crazy expensive and chose Aquarius because it wasn't too far away. The accommodation was a bit tired and it was hit and miss as to whether your room was serviced or not., but for the price we knew it wasn't luxury!|As there was no public transport other than taxis we were grateful that it was nestled in a group of hotels. We ate at the Aquarius a couple of nights and the food was okay, but nothing special. A breakfast was provided which was a real bonus as most of the accommodation we'd looked at it was a fairly expensive add on. Other hotels had good menus.|It was about Fiji $30 to Denarau, about half that to Nadi. Think about that when going to Denarau because you don't want to be going back and forwards over the course of a day.|It was frustrating that you had to go between two bars and I hated the plastic glasses at the boat bar! They didn't sell wine however, so you had to go to the internal bar.|The high point of our stay was the Kava guys that we encountered on our first and last nights. They were such fun and so lovely. We had two great nights - it tastes like dirt, but just enjoy the culture!

Another wonderful holiday at Aquarius On The Beach. We are treated as family by all the staff. This is our "happy place" and look forward to it every time we go and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you to everyone and we look forward to seeing you next year.

Lovely place that is located right on the beach! There is a live band to serenade you while dining or drinking at their restaurant. A nice pool overlooking the sea! Friendly and helpful staff. Location is only 15 mins taxi ride from the airport. Definitely going back!
