Aquarius on The Beach

Great location, good sized but tired rooms. Clean but they don't do linen unless you are there for a week or more, or you can pay extra. WiFi was rubbish, even though just upgraded. Hopefully that will be sorted out before we visit next time.

We could not work the TV. Asked for help and receptionist was on their own and said they would try and get up there. It still did not work when we returned from dinner. We had to pay $30 for a single bed on top of room charge ( I was sharing with my sister).We felt we should have had option of twin room for same price as a king. Locale beautiful. Lovely to stroll along promenade. Great views from our room.

Location is wonderful, property needs upgrading. It’s adequate but it has the opportunity to be the jewel in the Townsville crown. Whoever owns this property is underestimating the potential. 24 hour reception was not in place. The rate was reflective of the standard

Great views and very walkable to nice restaurants and the beachfront, but the rooms are not as nice as the pictures. Just very dingy and ants all over the place. Doesn't help that there were crumbs left under the toaster from previous guests. The tray with the coffee and tea packets also covered in ants. If you can get over the uncleanliness then you might have a better time.

It amazes me again to see lots of different opinions in review. It's true that this building is relatively old (50 years around?), but my room is well renovated and looking good. The only downside is the shower for hot water is weak, not sure if it's because of the room is in higher floor. Considering the large number of rooms (around 168 rooms) with only 2 elevators, I am a bit surprised that I haven't experienced long waiting for elevator to come during my stay. It's hard for me to judge their quality of service, and I can only say that they normally have 1 staff only in the reception. Most of reviews mentioned positively about the location and views, and I agree with them. I took a number of great photos on the balcony, and my overall experience is positive.

The apartment was spacious and clean with a great view out across the water toward Magnetic Island. It's a little dated but has been quite well maintained. Located on The Strand with good choices of restaurants and cafes nearby and a short drive to the supermarket. The kitchen is very small with limited facilities but okay for basics. Bed was comfortable but a little spongy. The frontage to the road was noisy due to single glazed windows which was a bit annoying.

Rooms are dated but fine, it’s clean and a central location. The noise from the rev heads on the strand is a lot, the sound proofing on the windows isn’t great so they definitely keep you awake. The fact that you have to pay to use a beach towel by the pool is pretty poor..

Great spot with clean rooms and lots of dining options nearby. Lovely views and helpful staff. Not sure if it was my room location being on the end of the building but the wifi was poor. Parking is limited and outdoors so something to be mindful of.

A true 5 stars all around. Every room has a ocean view, very clean and well maintained. The staff is really attentive specially the 2 ladies in the front, Lisa and Jen. Always smiling and go out of their way to help. Place is very central just within a couple of blocks of some real nice restaurants and bars. I really enjoyed my stay here specially my first time to Townsville. Will be back.

A very good hotel, excellent location and comfortable clean rooms with plenty of off street parking and awesome ocean views. The only disappointment was the very slow and inconsistent WiFi in the rooms which was very frustrating. This meant multiple trips to the foyer to use the internet as it was the only place the WiFi worked for me.
