25 Best Things to Do in Dubai, According to Locals

"The world's largest water park, featuring over 100 waterslides (105 noted) and typically accessible via day passes for visitors who want the water-park experience without staying at the resort." - Latifah Al-Hazza Latifah Al-Hazza Latifah Al-Hazza is a Chicago-based travel journalist, documentary filmmaker, and co-founder of Femscape Sojourns, a boutique women's travel company. 21 Best Things to Do in The Bahamas

"Atlantis Paradise Island is perhaps the most famous resort in The Bahamas; even Prince William and Princess Kate stayed there on a recent visit. However, 90s kids know the massive hotel for another reason: "Holiday in the Sun." Recreate your Mary Kate and Ashley dreams by tackling the 60-foot, near-vertical water slide drop from atop the pyramid. Immediately following the terrifying descent, you’re rewarded with a quick shoot through a clear underwater tunnel with marine life swimming around you." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Our cruise line stopped at the Bahamas and one of the options to enjoy in Nassau was the day trip to Atlantis. What a treat! My wife and I had our honeymoon in the Bahamas and we're only able to stop by and view Atlantis from afar but never able to enjoy the well run water park called the Aqua venture. What an awesome water park!! I highly recommend spending a day at Atlantis Aqua venture and enjoying the thrilling rides, the absolutely awesome lazy river, as well as enjoying the pools. For lunch we enjoyed burgers at the Shake Shack and loved our meal. Seats are plentiful and it does get warm to a little hot after 12 so I recommend bringing water proof sandals or aqua shoes as the ground does get hot. One of the best water parks in the world at Atlantis Aqua venture and I can easily award 5 stars for this outstanding water park.

Don’t come Things are closed for 3 days not sure why we spent nights staying in this property but they closed their major attractions for 3 consecutive days. It is understandable attraction closed during tropical storm but 2 days after Leap of faith and other bucket list items are closed without notifying guests are absurd and irresponsible

What an exhilarating experience! The water slides are incredibly fun—imagine a lazy river transformed with exciting rapids, twists, and turns. It's the first thrilling river ride I've ever been on, and it completely redefined my idea of a water adventure. Beyond the slides, the park impresses with a fantastic mix of pools, rides, beaches, and scenic walking paths. I’d give it a solid 10/10 and would definitely come back for more fun. A little tip: it can get pretty crowded when the cruise ships are in port. For shorter wait times on most rides, try visiting either after 3 PM or before 10 AM. My favorite attractions were the Drop and the Challenger—true highlights of the day. Plus, don’t miss the other pools and aquariums; there’s plenty to explore and enjoy. A must-visit spot for anyone looking to blend thrilling rides with beautiful scenery!

The water slides are so much fun! It's the first exciting river I've been on! It's like a lazy river but exciting with rapids and twists and turns. Not only were there pools and rides but beaches and nice walks. 10 out 10 I would come back and have just as much fun again.

We stayed at the property and were able to walk into the water park both days. There were lines for a few things but rest was easy to get to. One issue we had was, for the large expanse of the water park the hot tub space was extremely small.

It is a fun pool focused Waterpark. In early June, the water is a bit cooler than ideal. There are limited quick service restaurants, which don't take cash. This wouldn't be a huge issue, except their credit card system isn't that reliable. That said, you can use cash at the pool side snack hut. There was almost a small riot among people waiting for a double innertube for the lazy river. It is a lovely, well-kept facility, with a few minor issues that are easy enough to deal with.

Aquaventure was an incredible experience — the water slides, lazy river, and pools are all amazing! The place is well-maintained, and everything feels safe and organized. It’s perfect for families or anyone who loves a bit of adventure mixed with relaxation. Definitely one of the highlights of visiting Nassau.

Aquaventure Waterpark, as depicted in the enticing online pictures, turned out to be a complete disaster. We had booked tickets for 13 people, including shuttle service. The shuttle team, led by a rude woman, instructed us to move to the back and dictate our seating arrangements. Upon arriving at the Aquaventure Waterpark, we were informed to connect our cellphones to their unsecured WiFi network to complete an online waiver form and obtain a wristband to enter the waterpark. Imagine the chaos as approximately 150 people attempted to connect simultaneously, repeatedly encountering “no internet connection” and “unable to connect” errors. We persevered for 15 minutes without success. To access the waterpark, we passed by the mini shopping center and the casino, but lacked clear instructions and signage. We were left to fend for ourselves, leading to confusion and frustration. The Rapid River was enjoyable, but a few people experienced head injuries from hitting rock walls while in tubes. They sought help in the office, but the staff was unhelpful and dismissive. My sister-in-law’s water slide incident was particularly concerning. As she slid down, she stood up and stepped on a shark pin from someone’s earring, causing her toes to poke. She promptly reported the incident to the office, but the staff’s response was inadequate, dismissing her concerns without a thorough examination. Overall, this waterpark poses significant safety risks to tourists, and the staff’s lack of politeness and professionalism further compounded the disappointment. Despite paying $2,854 for 13 people (9 adults and 4 children), the experience was far from worth it. We found CocoCay in the Bahamas to be a far superior destination. I strongly advise against visiting this waterpark.
