An amazing presentation of the beautiful silk embroidery that the Croatian culture has had for thousands of years. In 1992, after the war, it was discovered that all the silk worms were GONE! This one artist made it a special mission to ensure that this was not lost. Even as far as to go GET silk worms and bring them back to her country.

Super interesting place with a wonderful host. Learn all about the silk process and the incredible needlework that is done with the silk. I was very impressed which was a total surprise to me. Look closely at the pic and you'll see the silk worms.

Visiting Antonia’s studio and silk making and embroidery demo was indeed a highlight of our trip to Konavle . She is a lovely lovely host and make everything so interesting. You can truly feel her passion about preserving and sharing her knowledge of the culture of the area and tradition of silk embroidery. Highly recommend !

Visited this gallery a number of times over the years - always beautiful. The silk- based crafts are wonderful traditional items and there is a great choice in AR art works. We make m this a stop on any trip through the region or couple with a trip to the wonderfully restored Fort Sokol or the mills and superb Konavoski Dvori restaurant nearby.
