Not pushy to try and get you in. Just explained the menu and supported your choice. This was from a female staff member who welcomed us. Male staff member was overly pushy which was a put off but the female staff member was amazing. Lovely food and sea food pasta was much more filling than plain fish meals. Always have pasta as if you like fish like I do it's you get nothing but the fish and have to pay more for sides. They aren't good portions. Pasta and something is a winner. Pizzas are very good size and tasty

We arrived late in the afternoon to a full terrace and the waiter was brilliant and within 10 minutes we were seated. He recommended the salad Puntarelle with anchovy sauce. This is a seasonal delicacy well worth the trip. The whole experience was great, not like the touristic packed Travastere that we escaped. The square is also delightful, far from the maddening crowds of unfortunately now most of Rome. Highly recommended. Book to not be disappointed.

An excellent lunch today. Started in the sunshine but realised our mistake as it got too hot. Our waiter also spotted my discomfort with a lady’s dog sniffing around my feet, as she blew smoke in my direction. He discretely offered to move us, some that showed great empathy and attention to detail. Italian camerieri are truly excellent professionals! Fennel olive and orange salad followed by pasta ( carbonara and Amatriciana) were all very well put together and presented. The berries & gelato and the tiramisu were very good. Many tiramisus have soft biscuits and heavy custard: this was light, beautifully flavoured and had still crunchy biscotti. One of the best I’ve ever had. A delightful lunch away from the nearby crowds. Definitely worth seeking out

One of the best meals I had in Rome. Service was slow, but they were very busy. Pricey, 5 gambas over 50euro, but very tasty. White truffle and lobster pasta were out of this world!🌟

Of all the restaurants we ate at while visiting Rome, this was by far the best meal we had. We were so well treated, and we witnessed how kind the staff was to other patrons. Locals were dining here, so we knew we came to the right place. Each of the 4 dishes we had were absolutely delicious, the best eggplant parmigiana and stuffed artichoke we have ever had! Strongly recommend making a reservation.

Google
My favorite restaurant in Rome. I could eat there every night. The roasted baby rooster and roasted rosemary potatoes…buono!! Love the server Roberto 💋

The only good thing here is the location. Right on Piazza Farnese otherwise mediocre food and service. The worst stuffed zucchini flowers ever!

Incredibly delicious! Like all the food in Italy, simply spectacular. Octopus was perfectly cooked. The steak and onions was addictive. Our waiter was really good and professional. The atmosphere inside was modern and comfortable. I wanted to order the frozen fruit dessert but even I was too full by this point of my trip :) Buon Appetito!!!

Yelp
A pleasant meal. We were recommended here by a friend in USA who had lived in area. Sought out his waiter and enjoyed dinner. Food was a 5... Atmosphere was a 5.... Where ar Galleto lost points was on service. I asked if there was a house wine: no.... Ok. Looking for a relatively inexpensive bottle of red. Waiter pointed to a €50 bottle of wine! I said, no but settled on an entry level €30 bottle. Dinner service was as expected. 5.... When bill came, I was to pay by VISA, but looked to leave a tip in cash. Bill was €140..... I asked to break a €100 note for tip (not needed in Italy but increasingly being pushed)...... the change was in larger bills.... So I had to ask to break a €20..... the intent was obvious to push to higher %.... That left a poor taste in my mouth, which I went elsewhere to wash out. Overall..... 4++stars.

Yelp
I make a point of dining here every time I come to Rome. The view on the piazza is of the beautiful Palazzo Farnese, now the French Embassy. The cuisine is traditional Roman fare, but made with fresh ingredients and expertly presented. Everything is delicious and the point is proven when you see that the place is frequented mostly by well heeled Italians. The service is attentive yet friendly. They accommodated my son's gluten free diet very well. The ambiance is romantic so this a great place for a date without breaking the bank. And the desserts are amazing!

Yelp
I have a rule. I don't award five stars to a restaurant unless I've eaten there at least three times, with true excellence demonstrated each time. Sometimes rules need to be broken. This gem is off of the beaten path, about a 10 minute walk from the Tiber River. From the moment we entered, we knew. The manager inspected every plate as it came out of the kitchen. The aroma of fresh, warm bread. Bottles of extra-virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinaigrette at every table. People eating intensely, savoring every bite, and not looking at their cell phones. Bus staff removing bowls filled with empty seafood shells and bringing fresh empty bowls to tables. Could it be? People were wearing street clothes, as were we, and the menu looked like two people could eat and drink for under €90. Well, let me tell you something: everything from the fresh crusty bread to the fennel salad with orange, to the mussels and main courses were absolutely scrumptious. The broth at the bottom of the bowl of mussels was sopped up with an extra crusty bread which was served with the mussels for that glorious purpose. They have their own bottled house wine which tasted to me like a light Chianti or Sangiovese / Nebbiolo blend, but they wouldn't tell me what it was. Their lamb was breaded almost like a schnitzel, but finer ground coating. A similar flour dusted coating was on the sautéed prawns. The calamari was cooked to perfection, as were the mussels, which is not easily accomplished. It is not often that a meal is so filling that I have no room for dessert, especially in Italy where that biological anomaly known as "the desert space" permits desserts to be consumed regardless of whether there is any anatomical room left. Alas, I truly couldn't eat another bite. The friendly waiter, linens, flatware and spotless plates added to the experience. And when we ran out of room on our table, the waiter didn't hesitate to use the table next to us. And with the wine, and the appetizers, and the main courses, the bill for 2 came to €79! We will be back.

Yelp
This was my best meal in Italy. Smoked salmon appetizer with goat cheese. Make your own bruscetta with it on their bread with balsamic vinegar, it's in fleek. The zucchini flower with mozzarelka and anchoive was cooked to perfection. The ravioli with cherry tomatoes was the best I've gad. Risotto with prawns and cream sauce is hesscordonbleu as well. Desserts look fantastic, but I'm stuffed

Yelp
The good . Location and service were fantastic. The waiter was first class and the fountain next to our table was classic! The bad . Food was forgettable nothing great or even good. Average at best for antipasto. The pasta was "eh" - we even discussed if the mushrooms were canned or not.... So you see what I mean... It was a Tuesday... So maybe the rest of the week is better...

Yelp
This restaurant seems to cater largely to Americans. This perhaps has caused them to abandon special Italian touches. The food was very good, but our meals in Italy have been so great, good isn't enough. Ordered the tuna--perfectly cooked, but smothered in a sweet jam that overpowered the delicate fish flavor. Just gratuitous. Mussels were wonderful, as you would expect. Lobster and pasta also seemed over the top, trying to be trendy or something beyond reach. We're adventurous diners. Also happy to experience authentic Italian. Overall, not what we had hoped.

Yelp
Our concierge said our reservation was for 7:15 but the place didn't open until 7:30. We were going to come back, but they showed us to a lovely table were we could wait which was fine with us. It's a great piazza for people watching. The service was attentive, and the food was good. We started with the eggplant and then had pasta with fresh mushrooms, and both were excellent.

Yelp
It's expensive but my friends and I went there for a birthday and we had a really nice time. Food was absolutely delicious (fried antipasti were divine, without to many oil or whatever), people were really professional and polite but also nice and friendly, and the location is perfect if you want to have a drink after that. I would recommend it for a classy but nice dinner :)

Yelp
We decided to eat here on New Year's Eve and found the service to be quick and friendly. The first course (tagliolini all'astice - thin noodles with lobster) was amazing. The pasta was perfect and had a unique and delicious taste. The lobster was sweet, delicious and perfectly cooked. The entree I ordered, filetto al vino Rossi in salsa do mirtillo, was cooked well but I'm not a fan of pomegranate so it was just so-so to me. I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
This place was amazing. Carpaccio, lobster pasta, veal and truffle mashed potatoes - so good. Our waiter was superb. He acted aloof but I caught a smile or two and he took wonderful care of us. We would definitely come back if in the city again.

Yelp
Unbelievable artichoke on special. Also, both the lasagna and the spaghetti carbonara was the best that my wife and I had ever had!

Michael S.

Yelp
Enjoyed a carpaccio and a prawn risotto for lunch in this quiet corner of Piazza Farnese, just behind the noisy, crowded and turisty market of Campo dei Fiori. We ordrered a glass of white wine but before we raised our voice a whole bottle was opened.

Yelp
Our service was good. The wine list was extensive. The food was average. My wife said her ravioli tasted like something she could have bought from the frozen food section of Kroger in the U.S. Also was definitely not handmade like many other restaurants in Rome; all pieces were uniform - same size and shape. Roasted chicken tasted good, but was dry. We ate here based on the recommendation from Rick Steves book, but left disappointed. Very average and overpriced.

Yelp
Very nice and sophisticated restaurant with a primo location on the quiet and beautiful Piazza Farnese. The place was empty, save for one other table, when we sat down, but then it was mostly tourists when we left. (Rarely a good sign.) Our dishes came out slowly. In fact about 4 or 5 tables who arrived after us were through their first course before we were served our first. On the plus side, Ar Galletto served up the best "house red" wine we had in our two weeks in Rome... but also at three times the price of many others we had. Still, it was worth it IMHO. Overall, a perfectly nice meal; nothing outstanding. The location is the star attraction of Ar Gallato.

Yelp
Good food, though overpriced. Service leaves little to be desired. Skip it and go to one of the other amazing restaurants in Rome!

Yelp
Service is good, but the food is so so, it seems nothing wrong, just not delicious as other restaurants We tried in Rome. The porcini spaghetti is so disappointing.

Kenna G.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, no complaints there. I had the Cacio e pepe and the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. The tiramisu was delish as well. We sat outside at night and the atmosphere was nice, waiter was friendly

Yelp
Loved this beautiful, quiet location away from the touristy Campo de Fiore. Wait staff was very helpful, especially with our wine selection. I would return again.
