Ar Monte Testaccio

Excellent authentic Roman place! We have been in Rome for 6 days and we found this gem. Thanks to Robert (our guide to Pompei) for suggesting we eat at Trastevere or Testaccio. As international travelers we tried all instagram recommendations, but only Ar Monte satisfied our expectations on Roman food. Even the menu is authentic with all the Roman meal courses, wines, dessert and digestives. 10/10 If you are an international traveler and want to truly taste Roman food, come here and you will not be disappointed. Massimo was the best! Thanks for a great evening!

If I could give this place ten stars I would! We stumbled across Ar Monte on the second night of our 10 day stay in Rome. We ended our stay with them for a total of 3 nights, with each night, trying something different on the menu as recommended by Meysem our server who was an absolute amazing person. Next came sweet Agatha who was originally from Poland. When we asked for butter for our bread...she knew exactly why! The food was so authentic and so much to choose from. Both of these people took time to explain the menu items and answered any questions we had with zero language barriers. If you are looking for wonderfully amazing drinks...Lorenzo is your guy. I have never had a D'sorrono Amaretto sour like his. And I've had plenty! Not to mention the mojitos! Being from Texas, they made us feel like home. We entered there as strangers in a country for the first time and left like family. We will always remember AR Monte and look forward to the day we return!

Had the tonnarelli alla gricia + fresh truffles at Felice’s advice. The pecorino is strong, the truffle imparts a lovely fragrance, but the hero is the guancale. Truly a delightful pasta dish. Also ordered the bombette salentine, which was pork and pear. It was juicy and had a slightly grilled flavour - surprisingly sweet for a meat dish. Delicious. The place is beautifully lit with warm fairy lights and the atmosphere is jovial with old friends popping by “ciao-ing” and exchanging kisses. It was busy even at 9pm. Probably the friendliest staff I’ve met so far in Rome. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience at Ar Monte! The food was delicious - especially the caprese salad and the pasta dishes. Our server Andrea was friendly and warm and made great recommendations. Highly recommend during your visit to Testaccio!

Enjoyed a beautiful, cozy and intimate dining experience with fabulous food & wine with wonderful service from Meysam! Not only did he give great recommendations but also very attentive service!

We came from Chile and Canada. The food was spectacular, and the service from the waiters and other staff was excellent, especially Lorenzzo. Everyone was very attentive and friendly. We would definitely come back. Thank you so much for everything!

This is a must when in Testaccio! We arrived with a large party and were immediately welcomed. The servers were very friendly, the food was delicious, and the ambiance is second to none! Sure to be the newest neighborhood hotshot - try as many things as you can (we had gnocchi with seafood, pizza, and chicken)! Federica was knowledgeable and very helpful. Many thanks to the staff and cooks for a great night out!
