AR 218 Hotel

"How did it strike you on arrival?White walls and black trim stand in stark contrast to a patterned talavera-tiled floor; the effect is a stylish, contemporary take on Mexican design. Nice. What’s the crowd like?A classy bunch, mostly business travelers and some European and American couples on vacation. If you've chosen to stay here, you did so because you want to be in one of the city's most sought-after neighborhoods, Condesa. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The 37 rooms feel like minimalist inner-city loft apartments, with brick walls, light wood floors, leather headboards, and kitchenettes. Some of the suites open out on to a terrace or balcony. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Comfy mattresses are topped with Ralph Lauren bedding. There's also a pillow menu if you're picky about that. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? All rooms are equipped with Smart TVs, climate control (heating and AC), and comfy bathrobes. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Bathrooms have the same trendy, minimalist design as the bedrooms. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free and runs at a speed of 200Mps (translation: you can download that Netflix show in a matter of seconds). Room service: Worth it?No room service but there's a Starbucks downstairs, so you can grab your morning coffee before heading out. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The rooftop garden is a relaxing place to take in views of the city. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The location: Step outside and you have restaurants, bars, and parks all around. Bottom line: worth it, and why? It's worth staying here just to see those beautiful floor tiles." - Susannah Rigg

"The 37 rooms at this La Condesa hotel feel like minimalist, inner-city loft apartments. The brick walls, light wood floors, leather headboards, and kitchenettes (plus private terraces or balconies in the suites) are strategically planned to accommodate business travelers on extended stays. But AR 218 still appeals to leisure-traveling couples from Europe and the U.S., many of whom choose the hotel for its prime location near the city's best restaurants, bars, and parks." - Susannah Rigg

"When you touch down in the largest city on the continent, you need to get your bearings quickly, or risk wasting precious time staring at maps when you could be sinking your teeth into the perfect taco. Or you could do both at once. In D.F. you’ll do most of your sightseeing in the Centro Histórico, you’ll take the trip out to Coyoacán to see Frida Kahlo’s house, you’ll make dinner reservations in Polanco. And you’ll probably want to stay in Condesa. It’s that neighborhood — the one with the pretty parks and the Art Nouveau architecture and the art galleries and bohemian chic cafés — and AR 218, a stylish all-suite hotel, offers a glimpse of what it might be like to live here in a smart studio, right in the middle of the action." - Tablet Hotels

Small hotel with lovely rooms in a great area of Mexico City (La Condesa). Our room was relatively small but modern and clean. We did have a small outdoor private terrace which made it feel much larger. The bath was a bit tight but well appointed. This hotel has minimal services (no restaurant or room service), but does have a small exercise room and a nice roof top area (no service there). Staff was lovely (no concierge services, just reception. There is a Starbucks in the front which was nice, however there are many small, authentic caffès on virtually every street corner that we preferred. If you are looking for a clean, efficient hotel room in La Condesa at very reasonable price, AR218 is a good choice. I suggest go for the larger rooms with a patio if you can.

We loved staying here on our first trip to Mexico City! The location is super convenient, close to great shops, restaurants, and parks. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and responsive to WhatsApp messages. The room was very spacious, we felt extremely comfortable during our time there, great storage, comfortable bed, and very convenient kitchenette. Would 100% recommend and come back! In fact, our friends we were visiting in Mexico City said they would recommend it to future visitors as well!

One of the best hotels and places in Condesa. Service at the hotel is awesome, rooms are clean, spacious and nice. Having a Starbucks on the frisy floor is awesome too… but Customer Service is THE WORST. I needed a receipt because it was a business trip, and they never sent anything. I filled out the form they requested 5 days before arriving, called multiple times and they told me “it is going to be resolved today” … and it NEVER got resolved, no one called me and I am still waiting. This experience will consider me thinking of staying here on my future travels to Mexico.

I visited Mexico City Oct/Nov 2025 and this hotel exceeded my expectations. It was clean, comfortable, and in a wonderful location. The staff was very helpful in providing local recommendations. My only complaint was the pillows - could be softer but I would stay here again.

We had an awful experience here. My family booked a 10-day trip to Mexico City during Dia de Muertos. After a long day of travel, we arrived at the front desk to discover they double-booked our room. They put us up for one night in a room that was way too small for five people, and much smaller than we’d booked. They hardly even tried to rectify this problem and were completely unhelpful. For their mistake, they just offered a refund, which meant we would have had to spend our first full day in CDMX looking for accommodations at the last minute during one of the busiest times of the year, or be homeless for nine nights. All of this after we had received confirmation and follow up emails with the floor and room number we were supposed to have. These emails were all lies. Fortunately we found an alternate room, no thanks to this hotel. CDMX is a wonderful city, and there are many good hotels in the Condessa a d Roma neighborhoods. Stay at another hotel. Do not give these people your money. You might regret it like we did. I have stayed in four hotels in CDMX and only had problems at this one. Don’t let the modern decoration fool you.

Beautiful property and lovely staff. Pretty decent gym that I used 5 out of the 7 days that I was there. They have really nice bikes available for borrowing. A lot of good food/dessert/drinks options within close walking distance.

Great location with super helpful and kind staff! The rooms were spacious, and the bathrooms were clean. I liked the small couch and separate living room section in our room, and I also enjoyed the rooftop patio area. They also gave us a bottle of wine when we arrived, which was a nice touch. I don’t think they automatically clean the room every day but we just let the front desk know which days we wanted it cleaned.

I have stayed in many places in Mexico City, this is the best one, rooms are huge and pretty, everything is in great shape, the rooftop is big too, the location couldn’t be better, the staff is really friendly, overall it was marvellous, would totally stay here again 🤩
