Asador de Aranda is hands down my favorite restaurant in Barcelona. Every time I go, the food is absolutely succulent and full of flavor. We ordered a variety of appetizers including the croquetas and morcillas, and they were delicious. For the main course, we had the cochinillo and the lamb. Both were perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. To finish, we shared a cheesecake and a millefoglie, and both desserts were the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy traditional Spanish cuisine in an elegant and cozy setting.

The place is amazing! Huge and beautiful house. The waiters are fast, polite and very attentive. We were in a big party of friends, 22 people. Made the reservation on google and called to make the table larger. So we had the individual menu(48€), but because of the big portions every couple shared one menu. Everyone left happy and full. The portions are huge and delicious, especially the lamb. Very tasty, crunch and smooth. We also had a great wine, Ramon Bilbao edicion limitada 25,70€.

We visited this restaurant after our trip to Park Güell. It’s a bit out of the way, which might be why we didn’t see any other foreigners there. Most of the staff didn’t speak English, but they went out of their way to take good care of us. The atmosphere was also unique—something we haven’t experienced at other restaurants. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the grilled vegetables and the half portion of pork.

THIS IS NOT AUTOMATED…..this restaurant is AWESOME: If you’re on the hunt for a dining experience that tickles your palate and leaves you feeling full and happy, look no further than Asador De Aranda Tibidabo! This restaurant is not just a meal but an unforgettable culinary adventure that will leave you anticipating your next visit. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with a warm ambiance and a staff that exuded passion and professionalism. The entire team was outstanding, ensuring every detail was attended to with care and enthusiasm. The appetizers were a delightful prelude to the main event, with each dish crafted to perfection—think vibrant flavors and exquisite presentation. Melt in your mouth red peppers, Spanish Rice Black Pudding, chorizo, Picadillo Castellano (minced pork with spices). Everything was delicious! We could have stopped there, but……. Let’s dive into the star of the show: the cochinillo! This succulent roast suckling pig was nothing short of a revelation. The skin crackled like a symphony, while the meat beneath was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Each bite felt like a celebration, showcasing the kitchen's mastery of traditional techniques that were simple, but nothing short of mouth watering. My taste buds were literally doing a happy dance! And then came the dessert: a flaky puffed pastry that was the perfect finale to this culinary masterpiece. Each layer of the pastry was light and airy, melting in my mouth with every bite. It was generously filled with a rich, sweet cream that added a delightful contrast to the crispiness of the pastry. The hint of sweetness was perfectly balanced, making it an indulgent yet refreshing end to the meal. And let’s not forget the drinks! Each selection was carefully curated, complementing the meal and elevating the entire experience, capped off with a honey and anise liqueur (Orujo y Rosquillas) that was perfect! In a world where dining can sometimes feel routine, or you’re not sure about reviews, this is the real deal…., Asador De Aranda stands out as a beacon of culinary brilliance. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the entire experience. I left feeling not just satisfied but truly delighted, with a heart full of gratitude for the team that made it all possible. If you haven't yet ventured to Asador De Aranda, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. Prepare to be wowed at every turn. This isn’t just dining; cheers to great food and even greater people of Asador who made the experience memorable!

The food and service were excellent. One member of our party was celebrating her birthday, and the staff made it extra special by surprising her with a song and a slice of cake. A memorable experience!

Great antique renovation! We tried the suckling pig and lamb which i thought was great but not as tender as i thought itd be! We ordered beef in medium cooked but turned out to be medium rare cooked! It was tender with strong beef taste. Overall was a great experience after a long day of esmo conference!

Yelp
A fantastic restaurant that also delivers on the dining experience. Our service was exceptional from start to finish. Our waiter was very friendly and explained the menu and some of their signature items. We had champagne to start and then a wonderful Tempranillo wine from their great wine list. For starters, we ordered the Iberian croquettes, which were savory and delicious. The lamb and the chicken entrees were both juicy and tasty. We will definitely dine here again when we return to Barcelona.

Yelp
We were wanting a good steak so we ordered the aged ribeye medium rare to share for 58 euros. However, the steak we ordered was mostly medium and chewy with a lot of fat. We also ordered the Iberian ham Croquettes which were mostly cheese and very little of the ham, couldn't taste it. Maybe other meats are good at this restaurant, but beef is not what they know how to correctly cook. I also ordered a catalan granacha which I was hoping to be full bodied, but is was rather watery. The peppers were very good and the white aperagus was also good. The staff was very helpful, but the manager was condescending when I pointed out the catalan granacha was not full bodied. The roof is tiled and the floor is also tiled so makes for a very noisy restaurant. The structure is a beautiful house just noisy.

Yelp
A wonderful evening! Great warm bread. Great service. We tried lamb and it was awesome. Beef was only OK. Great experience.

Yelp
When asking around for the best places to dine in Barcelona, barring the normal Tapas restaurants, a friend of mine highly recommended Asador de Aranda with a footnote: If you love Lamb , this is the BEST place in this part of Spain to go and have the best prepared local Lamb dishes. This Michelin Award winning restaurant not only served the most flavorful ROASTED Lamb, it has an awesome presentation as it is served up table side. Portions are Full ,Half or Quarter portions depending on how many are sharing. Aside from the fabulous Lamb dishes, Asador has a quality choices ad Spain's finest meat selections prepared from home grown stock. The restaurant was designed in a beautiful old Spanish style mansion from the 1930's and as we walked up the stairs, one room and dining area was more breathtaking than the next. Spanish style moldings, from floor to ceiling, we were entering a place that really never changed motif, but just was remodeled into a beautiful dining area with large rooms separated by Spanish style arches. The walls, ceilings and windows were like out of a movie made in a Spanish Castle. As we were seated we were served 2 wonderful glasses of Cava and given the menus. No rush for us tonight, we ordered a fabulous bottle of Red from the Priorat region and the server opened to let it breath. The menu consisted of some very different meat, vegetable and salad dishes along with some very interesting starter dishes which are called "Our Musts", which we took recommendations from our server on what to start with. We wanted local meats and greens prepared the only way they knew how. We started out with a half plate of Iberian Ham which went perfect with our wine. Local cured ham sliced thin and plenty of it. We also ordered the 80's Mixed Green Salad with grain mustard vinaigrette topped with fresh chunks of Tuna. The kicker for starters was the Rice Black Pudding recommended to us. Rice and Pork molded together, deep fried and served with roasted peppers on top. Three thick pieces were plenty to try; never had anything like it. This IS a must. Of course like any Spanish style places here, we got warm tomato topped bread. I definitely came for the Lamb and had a half portion, roasted and prepared table side. After eating this, I don't know if lamb dishes could ever live up to this. My wife is not a lamb eater, so she ordered a beautiful roasted Poussin Chicken, roasted in their oven. Was delicious and juicy, much like my Lamb. Half the meat menu consisted of all sorts of cuts of meat, pig, and beef, several Lamb cuts including Lamb Chops all prepared roasted. They even had Lamb sweetbreads on the menu. Asador de Aranda is not in any of the main busy sections of Barcelona, but outside in a beautiful residential area and is approximately a 30 minute Cab ride from Las Ramblas and the Old City area. It is more upscale, not the typical tapas places we are more frequently going to. It is well known in Catalonia and very beautiful. If there is one real nice dining experience to try it would be here. Was very surprised at the prices, including the wines. Extremely reasonable for such an experience like this. This "castle", this "mansion" is a must try, especially if you are a Lamb lover and want the best representation of local meat cuisine in Spain. The servers and staff were so accommodating and made sure we had cab service back to our hotel and really went out of their way. This is a treat, not to be missed in Barcellona.

Yelp
Very good. Gazpacho was amazing, Cod balls very good appetizer. We had the suckling lamb which is their specialty. It was moist and tender, but a smaller portion then you would imagine. One of our party had the sirloin steak which I thought was the real hit .Nice place for a special dinner, traditional Classic Spanish food.

Yelp
The building is beautiful to look at but beware there is nothing beautiful about the food or most of the staff at the restaurant. I still don't think we had a waiter the entire evening. We ordered a steak for two and needed a drill to cut around it. It was very tough and barely edible. Our bartender was one of the only friendly people there along with a woman who finally came over to clear our plates. The owner and his family should be embarrassed. This has to have been the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Beware .

Yelp
We were there a few years ago and loved it! It was just as good this time. Their specialty is lamb and we shared a quarter of roasted suckling lamb. It was fabulous! We shared an order of salad and one of potatoes along with a glass of house wine and a dessert. It came to a very reasonable 65 euros. Gorgeous building and excellent service.

Yelp
Had lunch here today after a visit at CosmoCaixa Barcelona, an awesome science museum near Tibidabo. This was just a couple of blocks away and so amazing. Set in a beautiful mansion, indoor and outdoor seating options, and delicious food. Gazpacho was awesome and the desserts were huge and very tasty. Friendly staff. Beautiful, green, pergola-covered outdoor area upstairs.

Yelp
I am leaving this review as I am sitting here waiting for the check. We ordered the "Full Table" menu. It took a while for the server to take our order. It took us more than an hour to get our main entree. In between, server never attended our table; only attended the big table next to us. Their "signature" lamb and pork came out very dry. I literally had to spit out the meat that costed us 100 Euros. As in the picture, we are leaving the entire entree. It is unfortunate that their service and food was poor today. I will not come back to this place. There are plenty more to explore in town.

Yelp
This review is from a dining experience long ago and I thought I had left a review. This is probably one of the best dining experiences of my life. I was reminded of this place when recently my mother went back to Barcelona and one of her highlights of the trip was going to this restaurant. I remember fondly the family style lamb that was brought to our table and the great service. My spouse got something other than the Lamb and the waiter kept trying to persuade her to "get the lamb". Hindsight is beautiful and next time we visit Barcelona I am sure she will get the lamb. Trust me, "get the lamb"! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We looked for a beautiful place to have dinner for my husband's birthday while the four of us were staying in Barcelona, and we found this restaurant online. This beautiful, Modernista mansion is gorgeous. We shared the fixed price menu (menu #1) and service was attentive and courteous. The tapas or appetizers (grilled vegetables, salad, some sort of potato dish, and soft, flavorful, thinly-sliced dried beef) were terrific, but the lamb was to die for. Best lamb we ever had (and hubby is not a big lamb fan). The lamb came with yet another salad. Dessert, cookies and coffee are included as well as bread, water, red wine, cava, and a type of apple brandy. We come from Southern California, so we thought the 42 euros per person (which includes tax) was a value considering the amount of food and drinks provided and the gorgeous ambiance. We we recommend it!

Yelp
elegant, fine dining. Group, we had booked in advance. They will park your car which is very comfortable and not always found at places in Barcelona. You may find yourself not being able to enjoy coming by car, which we did, as our hotel was booked outskirts of the city. Service was pleasant, upscale I would say for Barcelona. A bit slow, but I guess I have gotten used to this when I travel to Spain...

Yelp
what's with all the negative reviews? i don't get it! I had a great experience. Good thing i tried it for myself and not get influenced by the previous reviews. First off - the building housing this restaurant is spectacular - so the setting was a treat in itself. Second - the service was gracious, friendly & prompt. And though my friends (who did all the ordering) are native barcelonans and could navigate between castellano & catalan seamlessly, the servers joked around with me in their broken english... no snobbery whatsoever. Food: we had the baby lamb as the main course - sooo good. I'd never had such young lamb before - and this meat was tender and just fell off the bone. And the blood sausage (I can't believe i'm about to admit this) was the best thing ever. Sometimes i just abandon my food issues, and adopt that Anthony Bourdain philosophy of just going for it & trying what the locals eat. I'm glad i did - because although i've had awful blood sausage (murcillo) in the past - this one was so delicious, i ate the last piece on the dish. The place is expensive, but considering the whole - presentation, setting, food, quality - i think it was priced accordingly. definitely good for a special occasion. especially if you like lamb.

Yelp
As a tourist, I have to say this restaurant was fantastic! We were very surprised that as an organized tour lunch here was included in our tour package. it's a beautiful restaurant. From start to finish, we thought the food was excellent. the highlight was the roast baby lamb. I have never seen it on any restaurant menu that I've been to at home in the U.S. It had golden brown crispy skin on top of succulent meat. there was no gamey lamb flavour here. Perhaps, there is better in Barcelona or other parts of Spain. I would go back here because I know it. Service was impeccable. one of our waiters even knew a little bit of English. a very accommodating establishment.

Yelp
It is really good this is my second time here in three day, love the friendly staff and i am back to try different dishes. Lamb here is really delicious

Yelp
This is a traditional restaurant that got too big because of the story behind the star dish "Roasted Suckling Lamb" and because of the great taste of it. Everything else is normal. And service is below normal, except for the manager, she is super nice, she answered all our questions about the history of the restaurant and the place. But the waiter was "rough", he doesn't speak English, he would put all the drinks in the middle and expects you distribute it (we were a large group), he would bring the side dishes for the lamb with the appetizers. But the Lamb is still very good, and you must try it, this is why I am giving it four starts. It is one of those restaurants that you have to go there at least once.

Yelp
The building is amazing but the positives end there. The food was expensive and very average, but the worst part was 3 or the 4 people I went with got food poisoning. I was wiped out for 48 hours as was my wife and brother in law...

Yelp
We are visiting Barcelona and staying in the Tibidabo area. We looked for a good place to have dinner for my husband's birthday. Hubby found this restaurant because it is housed in a modernista mansion, so it has a beautiful ambiance. The ceilings and walls are gorgeous! We read all the reviews saying it was expensive, etc. We come from Southern California, so the fixed price menu of 42 euro per person for several courses including bottled water, wine, cava, and brandy seemed like a deal to us. We and our two college-aged sons shared Menu 1. The service was prompt and attentive. We immediately had water and bread brought to our table. The waiter then brought out a bottle of red wine. Then the first course came--grilled vegetables, salad, soft dried beef, potatoes, which we all shared. Then came the lamb---best lamb we ever had. Hubby does not even like lamb but ate this. Tender. Fell off the bone. Crisp and soft at the same time. This came with another salad that nicely complemented the meat. Then came cava and dessert, followed by anisette cookies (which really were the least flavourful item of the night) and a small bottle of a pomace brandy. Coffee. All included. The staff was friendly and prompt. For us, the evening exceeded expectations. We would recommend it. (We had reservation at 8 pm, which is like eating at 5 pm in America, but by the time we left at 10, the restaurant was fairly full.)

Yelp
I would give this place no stars if I could. We waited 30 minutes for service and when we asked the waiter to see a menu he had the audacity to brush us off! Really, AVOID this place like the plague it is.

Yelp
One of the most amazing places I have ever eaten. Every course is outstanding, the building is beautiful inside and out, and spectacular views of Barcelona below. Definitely not for vegetarians and not to be missed!

Dana F.

Yelp
Wow. And to think we almost did not eat here because they were not busy. Everything was wonderful. The wine, grilled asparagus, lamb ribs and catalan cream. Nice servers. Wonderful memories.

Alex T.

Yelp
Very touristic. Lamb is good, but not the best. Definitely not the first choice in Barcelona.
