Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Peruvian chain Aranwa’s first hotel is a dreamy Andean wonderland spread over a canal- and lake-filled compound beside the Vilcanota River, far from the clusters of resorts in the Sacred Valley . One hundred-fifteen spacious rooms are sprinkled about the property in the carefully restored 18th-century hacienda, the resort’s centerpiece, and several more modern buildings with minimalist decor. When taking a day off from Machu Picchu or valley tours, you’ll find loads to do at the Aranwa: Stroll the orchid-filled glass pyramid, browse the art gallery or library, shop for alpaca scarves, soak in the infinity pool, watch a film in the private cinema, or take a treatment in the 25,000-square-foot spa. Personable staff are on hand to give lifts around the property in a fleet of eco-carts, or to entice an alpaca or peacock to pose for a photo op. Locally sourced ingredients are the norm here, and much of the fruit and herbs in the gourmet restaurant Pukawi are grown right in the resort’s hummingbird-filled gardens."

"Aranwa Scared Valley Hotel & Wellness lies about 30 minutes in either direction from crowded Cuzco and bustling little Ollantaytambo (where the trains depart for Machu Picchu). Part of Peru’s Aranwa chain of luxury hotels, it’s nestled near the banks of the Vicanota River, on what was once a 17th-century hacienda. The rooms and suites are much more spacious than what you’ll typically find in the area and feature either terraces, balconies, or views of the garden, river, and inland lake. Some are housed in the old hacienda building, but most are spread out over newer, two-story buildings dotting the property. At the center of the resort is an infinity pool and whirlpool, both of which look out onto a restored chapel, roaming alpacas, and canals and ponds connected by footbridges. There are also several restaurants on-site, serving everything from gourmet Andean cuisine to sushi and wood-fired pizza. Additionally, guests can look forward to a museum, art gallery, library, movie theater, and several boutique shops as well as what the resort claims is the largest spa in Peru."

Overall, a wonderful stay. The property is massive with tons of areas to explore. There’s a pool, hot tub, church, river, shops, court yard, walnut farm with animals, and so much more. We used this as our home base for exploring sacred valley and Machu Picchu. Ariatna at the spa was the best by far. She was helpful, friendly, and gave us great recommendations. I have never had a spa receptionist as great as her. Gloria also provided a good massage service. The rooms here are nice but slightly dated. Ours didn’t smell the best and the water stopped working a few times, but overall we still enjoyed. The food was solid and drinks were good. I’d stay again.

Hotel was great! Rooms were clean, spacious and unique. The grounds were well maintained and very large. The presence of alpaca and peacocks roaming around was a great touch. Unno spa was a highlight. Ariatna was very welcoming at the front desk and extremely attentive throughout our experience. Cristina gave an incredible, relaxing massage. My only note is that the restaurant and bar close at 10PM and the hot tub heater turns off at 7PM unless you explicitly ask for it to stay on at the front desk!

We loved our visit at Aranwa. The staff were so accommodating. We had christmas dinner and Yordan was taking care of us. He was so thoughtful and noticed our son wasn't eating much. We explained that the Peruvian food was a stretch for his palate. Yordan asked the kitchen to make him a smash burger. He was so thoughtful and and engaged our son and daugther in conversation. It definitely helped make our son feel more at home especially since it was christmas. All staff at the hotel were some of the nicest and most accommodating people. Not only was the compound lovely, the rooms were amazing. Our kids enjoyed the pool and the huge buffet breakfast.

The resort is amazing. I spent three nights there. The location is perfect for sightseeing, as far as being central. It was a good home base for everything we wanted to do. I used the spa for 3 treatments. Gloria did a facial, reflexology message and a 2 hr relaxation chocolates, hot stone message. HEAVEN!

ARANWA Hotel - Best people work here My wife and me travelled to Peru for Machu Picchu experience and more. Our itinerary started in Lima and lead us to Sacred valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco after that. We live in New York and made decent number of trips abroad. Travel can always introduce different situations and it is very frustrating experience when something goes not go according to the plan, especially if it is health related issues in a foreign country, different food, you know 😅. We were very lucky to stay in ARANWA hotel in Sacred valley not only because of the beautiful hotel grounds and amenities, but mostly because of the amazing people whom we’ve met at ARANWA hotel. People from the reception area: Edgar, Kimberly and Cintya, managed to help with better accommodation and to procure needed medications. Restaurant team [Fabio, Yordan, Raul, Yolanda] managed to cook exactly what we needed in the challenging situation, following our mom’s advices from New York translated into Spanish using Google Translate 😅. SPA care [Ariatna], helped us recover in the beautiful setting under precise guidance and supervision. I realized that over the course of 24 hours, we’ve made friends with the very large group of people, who helped us tremendously. The bottom line, though, that while we surely will remember Lima and Sacred valley and Machu Pichu and Cusco, we will always remember great people, who’s help came exactly when it was needed most and who had genuine concern for our health with help coming from the bottom of their hearts. Sincerely, Oleg and Katherine.

Beautiful well organized establishment. Very relaxing atmosphere. Mountains galore. Alpacas, pool, hot tub, fishpond, museum, movie theater, library, hummingbird sanctuary etc. within the grounds. Our room was clean and well equipped. Gualberto took very good care of us at every breakfast. Restaurant and bar on sight is nice and the staff is entirely professional.

Beautiful grounds and nice staff. The room I had was huge, but could have been cleaned better. The rooms are outdated and starting to look worn. You can’t open the windows at night but fortunately they have A/C. The buffet breakfast was amazing and the restaurant was as well. Despite a need for an update, it’s a beautiful place to stay while exploring the area.

We stayed at the Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel during our recent trip to Peru. What an amazing place! From our arrival to departure, everything was perfect. Food, rooms, grounds, all great! Staff was superb. So friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Kimberly at the front desk and Gualberto in the restaurant deserve an extra thank you for their above and beyond efforts to make our stay awesome and memorable! Great job to all. Thanks.
