Just enjoyed our second visit to this family run gem of a hotel for our ski week in La Plagne.|Spotless rooms, small but perfectly formed with plenty of hanging space for all your slope kit. |Every member of staff was great. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. Best boot room ever-efficient and top class service. Skis were taken upstairs and collected and every day our footwear was brought to us . Pierre in particular is so helpful and has a lovely style. Thank you. |Restaurant staff excellent and the food again was awesome! Great variety every day/evening and was always fresh and delicious. Love this hotel, ski in and out and once there after a day on the slopes you just don’t want or need to leave! The Spa is also wonderful. Steam room, sauna ice room and pool all spotless and such a welcome chill after a day’s skiing. |Thank you our party of 6 will return again next year!

Araucaria is located in a nice spot right at the core of Plagne Centre. You can easily access by foot the main lifts (requiring a bit of walking though - it is not a pure ski in / ski out as I've experienced elsewhere). It was nicely conceptualised taking advantage of a not-so-big building but including all needed services - warm common area, spa, buffet restaurant, ski shop. However, I felt the hotel was not being managed up to the standards it was built. Service was ok but not exceptional - I do not remember a wow moment when I felt the staff went beyond what was expected. The restaurant was nicely designed, with attractive food stations, but sometimes the food was not very good. As an example, fruit choice at breakfast and dinner was very poor. We had a family room which was large enough and nicely designed but it was not very well cleaned.

I’ll start with good points - We loved this hotel, amazing food, great staff (especially the restaurant staff) , perfect access to slope, great location to lifts. Rooms were comfortable and we had a lovely view of the slopes. Rooms were cleaned everyday . Spa was perfect , lovely to have swim and sauna after a day on the slopes. Over all - lovely hotel and we were really happy. Only 2 little negatives - the boot room was tiny , we couldn’t get a locker (not enough for hotel) so had to take skis and boots to room. Not enough hanging space on the room - the rooms are small and minimal clothes space.

Great facilities in a fabulous location. Excellent food choices and very friendly staff. Would love to return.||Rooms are clean with great balcony views of the slopes on one side and Mont Blanc on the other.||The staff could not have been more helpful and more friendly.||Would definitely recommend for family ski holidays in a great resort.

Had a week here with the family over the Ski Feb half term. The hotel was excellent, overall a very enjoyable stay. The location is 1 minute from the slopes with a very helpful ski shop. The hotel arranged taxi transfer for us which worked out perfectly too as the driver knew the best routes to avoid the queues. The restaurant food was very good and bar area was really nice.||||Things that were great:||* Location||* Staff||* Overall quality of food||* Amenities ||* Kids food||* Airport transfer||||Things that could have been better:||* Rooms for 3 were a little tight but more than manageable||* There could have been a little more warm vegetables with dinner, loads of salad and fruit but hardly any veg to choose from.||

Just spent 9 days at Araucaria Hotel with our family of 5. What a gem of a hotel. Usually we stay in a chalet but this hotel was not only amazing but provided value for money too. The kids loved the lounge/entertainment area with free candy and popcorn and we also loved the complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate station in the lounge. The sauna and steam room were also such wonderful facilities at the hotel. Staff were amazing and helpful, they always helped carry our skis up and down the stairs from the ski room and the restaurant staff were incredible. The buffet dinners were sensational - so much variety to choose from. The hotel is right near the ski lifts (as well as restaurants) so it is definitely a perfect choice in terms of location. The town centre is just a couple hundred metres away so you can hire ski equipment from there if you like. We hired from Skiset but the hotel sems to offer a great choice of skis and snowboards as well. Sometimes we had dinner at the restaurant because the kids were tired and sometimes we had dinner in town. There are so many cute and cosy restaurants to try. I definitely recommend doing a fondue evening - our kids LOVED this! The Croq-Neige was our favourite place for lunches and hot chocolates as the staff were friendly, the service ultra-fast and the food was tasty and good value for money. There are ski schools 200m from the hotel - Oxygen and ESF so you are sorted in that department. We did so much research as to where to stay - La Plagne Centre, Bellecote, La plagne 1800, Belle Plagne and even Les Arcs, but I can tell you now that La Plagne Centre and specifically staying at the Araucaria Hotel were the best choices. The only 2 recommendations for the hotel would be to put more hooks in the rooms for all the ski jackets etc and to vary the buffet breakfast from day to day so that it is not exactly the same every day). Thank-you for the most wonderful stay!

My family truly enjoyed our stay in Araucaria. The location was superb, the room was comfy and clean, the food was terrific (breakfast and dinner), the atmosphere was great. It's a lovely place for the families. I would definitely return.

We stayed at this fantastic hotel with really lovely staff and great food last winter! It was my dad's birthday and they prepared a delicious cake at our request and the manager (Thanks, Nessy!) treated us to free drinks on the house! All the staff are brilliant and remembered our name :) We are going back again this winter because we loved it so much!

Checked in yesterday and wasn't sure what to expect...upon arrival the staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English! When we got to the room, it was a tight space but there are other rooms you can rent that are much bigger. We didn't need it but I would recommend a larger room if traveling with a family. The ski rental was seamless and easy. They even give you a locker what heats your ski boots! Sold!! The spa facilities are world class! It gets super busy after 5pm as everyone gets off the hill but still great! The sauna and hammam were hot which we appreciate, there's an ice room and also a pool. The dinner the first night was impressive! Braised lamb fell off the bones and a beautiful salad bar! Great wine selection and liquors! The bar area is great for kids and adults. Overall, I think they've got this placed dialed in...super happy I booked this place!
