22 Free (Or Cheap) Things to Do in Reykjavik in 2025

"I spent time at Árbæjarlaug, a large complex with indoor and outdoor pools, water slides, hot tubs, a sauna, a thermal steam bath and beach volleyball courts — a budget-friendly alternative to the Blue Lagoon with adult admission around 1,210 ISK (free with the Reykjavík City Card)." - Matthew Kepnes

My kids RAVED about this pool and asked to go back every day of our vacation XD We went in the morning, so the vibe was very relaxed with mostly adults and older people. The people working there were very friendly. There were some floating boards and toys for the kids to play with at the indoor pool area. There were 4 hot tubs with 3 different temperatures and so much to do. We saw infants there all the way up to older people. What a wonderful place!

Great family swimming pool with plenty of features. For the kids there are shallow pools with a small slide and a larger flume. There's a larger pool for swimming lanes, and around the sides there are a variety of hot-tubs of various temperatures (36-42C), as well as a sauna and cold water plunge pull. It's nothing chique, but clean and friendly fun for not much money (9€ per adult, our kid was 0€). Well worth a visit.

Clean facilities and a good mix of pools for kids and adults. A great option for an afternoon straight off an overnight flight for kids (and parents) who might not be coming off a great sleep!

Very bright, clean and spacious swimming pool, with different temperature pots from cold to hot. I could stay forever in the jacuzzi section 🤓

Really nice public swimming pool. Has lap pool, inside warm relaxing pool, 4 hot tubs, steam bath, and a big water slide. Cheap for adults and free for kids.

First time in Iceland, and my first experience in a thermal pool! I met so many locals and got to try all the different temperature pools as well as sauna. Offers great views of the valley. Walking trails nearby. Locker rooms and pools are clean. Easy system and personal belongings are safe. Hope to be back soon!
