I booked a table for a 41st birthday for 14 people on the patio over a month ago (beginning of August), it was confirmed and written in the bookings book for the 6th September. Received a call today (5th September) advising that there is another event booked on the patio, and we will be moved to the tiny front area of the restaurant. The manager, Thulani, was not very helpful and blamed the waitress we booked with, saying she doesn't know how bookings work. This is a management issue, and the blame is with management. I explained we booked over a month ago, and why is he only letting me know a day before? Leaving me very little time to make alternative arrangements. I can't believe I have to leave a 1 star review for a Restaurant that we haven't even been to yet. The management of this establishment needs reviewing and training on business practices and how communication works; the communication levels are dismal. I will not recommend Arbour Cafe due to the level of incompetence and the extremely poor experience before setting foot into the establishment.
We have thankfully made arrangements at another restaurant at the last minute, who were more than happy to accommodate us at such short notice. This is what good restaurant management is, Arbour Cafe, take note!
