We stayed for 3 nights at Arboura Eco Lodges and absolutely loved our stay. There is ample parking within the gates and extra space on the roads outside, though it was relatively quiet as we travelled during the rainy season. The lodges were exactly as advertised and a great way to get close to nature while staying in Uvita. We even saw a hummingbird right outside our window one morning. Though the weather was humid we were very comfortable because the main bedroom was air conditioned and the front room with a single bed had a fan but actually was quite cool overnight. Having no windows but mosquito nets in the bathroom and main room worked really well and allowed us to hear the sounds of the jungle and experience the rain without getting wet. We cooked for one night of our stay and the kitchen had everything we needed. The gas hot plate was excellent and there were plenty of pots, pans and cooking utensils. We also enjoyed making the Chorreado coffee, in traditional Costa Rican style. There’s a guide in the room which provided great recommendations for tours, restaurants and other activities. The only reason we don’t give 5 stars for service is that there were a few hours one evening where all shower facilities weren’t working, but it was fixed within a few hours. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return next time I’m in Uvita. The little cabins are very thoughtfully made with lots of fans, plenty of hooks for hanging clothes and towels, and everything you need to cook your own meals. The cabins each have cold water showers, but there are communal showers with hot water that were super convenient for chillier nights. The space is very clean and cute while also feeling quite wild with the jungle surrounding. We saw macaws and toucans within the first 10 minutes of arriving. On top of that, it’s a 5 minute walk to the beautiful national park beach (this beach has a fee for visitors, but is one of the most beautiful in all of Costa Rica and very much worth the cost). Please also note that the cabins are practically open air, just with screens for insects. When people are outside in the pool, you can hear them. I worried it would be noisy, but I felt everyone was respectful of the space and the evenings were always quiet for sleeping. For the price, this place is a really good deal. Overall, a 10/10 experience.

This place feels like a true paradise, it was an amazing experience to wake up to the sounds of birds and monkeys. It is close to the beach and restaurants which is handy. We loved the outdoorsy feel of the kitchen area and it was fun to be able to play chess outside after swimming. The rooms are rustic but have everything you need (minus a mosquito net but we didn’t see any bugs whilst here).

My friends and I (group of five) stayed here last weekend and we had a great time. I would describe the atmosphere as more like an Airbnb than a hostel- we had a full kitchen and living room space, plus shared areas like the pool and ping pong table. The hosts were very helpful and made sure to post low/high tide everyday. The big lifesaver for me was that they had a freezer full of ice so you could grab some on your way out the door. One thing I wish I would have done different is buy groceries- It’s really economical if you’re doing a longer stay since u do have full use of a fridge and stovetop in your cabin. Keep in mind, if you’re looking for luxury though this might not be the place because it’s jungle-adjacent we still found critters (small insects mostly) in the cabin which bothered some of my friends. Personally, I think you’re bound to find that almost everywhere in the jungle. There’s also a great hostel down the road with a good bar and restaurant if you need somewhere close for food.

Location is excellent, right up the road from the entrance to the National Park and Beach, and decent restaurant options are also within walking distance. Cabins are rustic, but fantastic with small cooktop, fridge, and basic cooking supplies available. All cabins now all appear to have air conditioning in the bedroom areas, which is a nice bonus. Pool is refreshing for a morning or afternoon swim, and Staff are very kind and accommodating. We have now stayed here three times, over two separate trips, and we plan to return. I cannot recommend Arboura enough!

It’s a great atmosphere with a lovely swimming pool and ping pong table. It would be a great place for families. The location is great, located 2 blocks from the beach (you must pay $7 because it is a national park, although there is an unmarked entrance a bit farther down the road that seemed to be free…) The best restaurants nearby are Kinsu, Nativo, and El Hornito, all super close and delicious. Cabins have their own screened-in porch and kitchenette stocked with pots, utensils, and a mini-fridge. Cabins have their own bathrooms, though for a hot (warm) shower you will need to use the communal showers. The one in the cabin is cold only. The bedroom in the cabin has a well functioning air conditioner that we were very grateful for. They offer laundry for $12, though the info we received through air bnb said $10 and that the service included folding, which it apparently didn’t, so our stuff got very wrinkly by the time we got back and found it sitting at the front. I also didn’t give it 5 stars because there was mold completely covering a picture frame in our bathroom and a little mold on the bedroom trim where it shared a wall with the bathroom. Also, I asked the hosts twice for blankets via WhatsApp messenger and they responded to my other questions but never responded about blankets. I was so cold with only a sheet because my friend insisted on using the AC. Some loud music and other sounds at night made it hard to sleep some nights. Parking was very tight but we usually found a spot in the lot (sometimes having to park outside the locked gate).

We stayed here for 4 nights and truly enjoyed the jungle experience! We loved having a sloth and monkeys in the trees right next to (or even above) our cabin. There were also small geckos, crabs, and frogs around, adding to the charm. The swimming pool and ping-pong table were great for unwinding after sunset. The beautiful beach is just a 5-minute walk away, with a $6 entrance fee that is absolutely worth it. In fact, we found Uvita Beach even more stunning and far less crowded than the one at Manuel Antonio Park. We stayed in rustic cabin number 5, which was perfect as it’s the last one, offering a wonderful view of the jungle right outside our windows. The owners were incredibly helpful, providing us with plenty of information about local attractions like waterfalls, tide schedules, and dining recommendations. The location was convenient, with the beach, restaurants, bars, and sodas all within walking distance. Laundry service on the property, fresh towels when need it, free bikes and three hot showers next to the swimming pool was very useful (not sand at the cabin, kids took a shower when we back right from the beach).

Great, quiet spot very close to a beautiful beach. The cabins are well-equipped and the pool is regularly maintained. Ovi and Natalia are super responsive throughout the day. Nice touch to provide free bicycle to get around town. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
