I really didn’t like Arcadia Hotel. From the outside the building looks modern (which doesn't go with the rest of the buildings all around), but once you step inside it’s a different story. The rooms are old—not in a charming way, just tired and in desperate need of a full refurbishment. There’s an air conditioner in the room, but no remote control, so you basically can’t use it. The location is central, yes, but honestly any hotel in this city is “central” because the city itself is small, so that’s hardly a bonus. The place feels cramped and as soon as you walk in you’re met with a flight of stairs and a reception that doubles as the breakfast area—literally one side is check-in, the other is the café. Breakfast was nothing special, just average. The mattress and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, those awful memory foam ones that don’t suit everyone—I personally hate them. The only real positive about this hotel was the mini fridge: it was quiet, well stocked, and unbelievably cheap. A bottle of water was only 80 cents, soft drinks €2, and snacks €1, which is something I’ve never seen in any hotel. But apart from that, I honestly found the rest of the experience pretty unpleasant and wouldn’t stay here again.
