My sister and I passed this store and was instantly interested as someone who LOVES books and reading, we had to check it out! To walk in and to see the owner reading a book sitting around piled high books was everything I didn’t know I needed! I asked where a specific genre of book was and He assisted me right in that direction and I found a book on Gothic Architecture and was completely sold. I HIGHLY recommend if you are interested in books and learning about any and everything, i firmly suggest this store!!

Quite the experience! Fun place to go if you like digging for treasures. I knocked over several stacks of books just trying to walk through the store.

Love this shop! It is so small, don’t come here if you’re claustrophobic! Also, CASH ONLY! Great selection of books if you’re into the treasure hunt of finding what you’re looking for! The owner sometimes has a printout of all the bookstores and their hours in the French Quarter!! Definitely should be your first stop if doing a bookstore-tour!! Can’t recommend this place enough!!!

This is one of the coolest most unique places I've ever been to! What's the most amazing is that the owner (I believe his name was Russell) is super chill and knows something about everyone of the thousands of books in here. Definitely check it out next time you're in New Orleans!

I thought this would be a quaint little shop full of used books. It's full of old books but it's not quaint. This place is straight out of a hoarders episode and a death trap waiting to be sprung. The "aisles" are about 16 inches wide, books stacked everywhere. Zero organization to the books, zero ability to "shop" because simply being inside the store is uncomfortable to the degree that i just wanted to escape.

The most jaw dropping bookshop I've ever been in. But also terrified I will knock something over, lots of tight corners. Be prepared to sift through thousands of books you can't see the title of. Still a sight to see. 5 star attraction 2 star bookshop

I visited this store a few years back and absolutely loved it. I had a great chat with the owner and got to practice some of my high school French, and bought a couple of books for super reasonable prices! The whole shop feels like a treasure trove, and I’d absolutely love to go back sometime to spend more time exploring. One of my favorite bookstores that I’ve been to.

Update: I bought books this time. Didn't make it as far as I wanted perusing. I found a stack of my subject matter and quickly amassed several for purchase. At least I found some on my book list instead of adding to it. I don't know what it is about a dark, musty cramped room that make me feel at home? Maybe being Midwestern and hanging out in basements growing up? If you're at all claustrophobic, don't even. I half expected to find Yomiko Readman in the back corner. This place reminds me of a bookstore in Kalamazoo that's somehow bigger and equally cluttered. I could probably spend a lifetime just trying to look through everything. I'm like 2 doz books deep in a list I need to clear so I couldn't justify the time needed to dig through and find some random goodness.
