By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish, and it means a lot to me to give my business to places who are mindful of the pollution crisis, and working to alleviate it. Quite possibly the cutest ice cream shop I have been to! And the ice cream was extra delicious. I really liked the fresh flowers on each table. Decor was really charming. Highly recommend!

Seriously good ice cream. I'm simple so I got the just vanilla, my wife got chocolate and neither of us were disappointed. The atmosphere was charming inside and adorable out. Must stop if you’re in the area.

i used to live in humboldt in a past life, and i recently visited for the first time in many years. this ice cream spot is still just as cute and quaint as i remember. it definitely remains one of my all-time favorite local ice cream places. you absolutely have to try the honey vanilla lavender ice cream ~ it's unbelievably good, truly better than any other honey vanilla lavender i've had anywhere else. if you're ever passing through arcata, i think this place is absolutely worth a stop!

Really yummy ice cream. Doesn’t feel too heavy and the flavors taste real, delicious and a chill place to hangout while you enjoy your sweet treat! In an old converted home so the architecture is fun and an interesting spot to be in as well! If definitely come again!

Super premium organic ice cream 🍦My wife and I stop here at least once while in the area. It never disappoints. Located across the street from Los Bagels in a very cool part of town. The flavors are many, lots of choices from cones to bowls. Staff is friendly and the vibe is laid back. Free water station with cups. Great after dinner stop ☮️

Cute little ice cream shop right downtown. Only a few flavors but definitely high quality ice cream. Had the maple walnut and coffee in a waffle bowl and it was so good!

This is some of the best ice cream I've ever had! I'm a bit of an ice cream snob and this is one of my favorite stops whenever we are in Arcata! The maple walnut was fantastic as are all the flavors! All organic and handmade fresh!

This place is cool. Good gourmet ice cream. Cool "vintage" vibe. You should go there.

This was a sweet find! We were craving ice cream & found this lovely ice cream restaurant. They had a variety of flavors & waffle cones. I got their mint chocolate chip & it was delicious & refreshing. The decor was geared towards children, which was sweet & fun. The two ladies working there were very nice to help us. We'll be back again soon when we're in the area again!

I would eat ice cream every day if I could! I love trying out local ice cream spots so I had to check out Arcata Scoop in Humboldt County. This shop was so cute and the staff who helped me that day were friendly. I opted for the double scoop and tried their popular lemon poppyseed along with some other flavors. I thought the portion sizes were smaller compared to other nearby ice cream shops. I also thought the ice cream flavors weren't very strong. I thought it could use more lemon flavor in the lemon poppyseed ice cream and more chocolate flavor in the chocolate ice cream. This shop unfortunately didn't make it to my memorable list, but I can understand it can be popular amongst the locals.

Love this Arcata landmark. And I totally appreciate their fresh made flavors. Every time I have some I think, why isn't all ice cream this good! For just a taste, go for the kids scoop. If you can't decide, a split scoop is the way to go.

A weekend getaway in the redwoods, a gorgeous hike and a craving for ice cream, and absolutely delicious ice cream makes a very good day! My partner and I saw the excellent reviews here and decided to drive a few extra miles for what we hoped was really good ice cream. And this house made organic ice cream did not disappoint! My partner said it was the best vanilla ice cream he'd ever had. I had a combo of vanilla peanut butter and chocolate mint and they were exceptional as well. When the waffle cones were really good. Fresh and not too sweet. A worthy indulgence for sure.

If you make your way to Arcata you have got to try Arcata Scoop! Their ice cream is amazingly delicious. The inside is cute and quaint and the service is great. Our family had their chocolate, cinnamon, mint chip and honey vanilla lavender flavors. We just discovered this little gem. If you are in Arcata you really don't want to miss this place.

Found this gem on a little weekend away. The ice cream was creamy and yummy. Just what we were looking for. The service was friendly. The ambiance was very kid friendly. There is a little corner for kids to pretend to sell ice cream. We sat in a rocking giraffe that could fit 6. We will definitely go back if we are in the area.

Update your hours so people don't drive all the way over to your store from a different area to have it be closed.

I've been going here since I was a kid. Now that I live out of state, it's a must when we come to Arcata every year. Vanilla honey lavender is the OG go-to, although all of the flavors are unique and worth a try! Highly recommend!

Ofc I have to get ice cream at least once on any trip I am on and Arcata Scoop was a great pre-dinner dessert. I would've came here two days in a row if they weren't closed the day after Thanksgiving. The shop has a warm ambiance and welcoming environment. The gals behind the counter were friendly and more than happy to provide multiple samples, and they gave us some great dinner recommendations. * LEMON POPPYSEED They nailed this flavor - tasted just as you would expect. It reminded me of eating lemon poppyseed muffins. I'm not surprised that it's a flavor one of the gals recommended. The homemade waffle cone wasn't my favorite but it wasn't terrible either. My only comment is that the texture got kinda chewy at the bottom where the cone starts to overlap on itself. I will 100% be back next time I am visiting. In my opinion this place is miles better than Living the Dream in Eureka.

Great vibe and high quality ice cream. Would go again. The decor is memorable--I went here 6 years ago and remembered how to find it again because of the swing!

The family has been by the Scoop multiple times over the years, and always enjoyed our time there. It's not just a great place to get a tasty ice cream treat; it's nice to hang out and enjoy a time-out in the giant swing and talking in downtown Arcata. They're one of the regular places we frequent when visiting/vacationing in Humboldt.

Yet another Arcata establishment with excellent products, but terrible service. Like another past reviewer, I had my dog at the entrance of the business (line was long) and my conversation was interrupted with a loud young lady's voice yelling dogs are not allowed. Everyone in the store stopped talking and stared.

Our annual trip to the redwoods is not complete without a scoop from this place! They have an ever changing menu with some unique flavors (Honey Vanilla Lavender is sooo good!) and they always have a nondairy option. They have handmade waffle bowls/cones that have the perfect amount of sweetness. The ice cream is made with locally sourced ingredients and have a fresh taste. They have the cutest little inside eating area complete with a ice cream stand toys for the littles to play with. Even on a rainy day this place is a great place to stop and enjoy a treat!

I never really liked ice cream until Scoops - the flavors are just so vibrant! My go to's are the cinnamon, the maple, or the milk chocolate but I tried the lemon sorbet today and it was amazing!

Two words....lemon poppy seed ice cream. Yum. Unique flavors and worth trying. Saw another couple flavors like lavender and such....would eat there again.

Have you ever ate something so good that by the end of it, you decided to go back and get a second helping?! Well, that's exactly what my hubby and I did here. Unique flavors like vanilla, lavender, and honey mixed and you can taste the quality of the lavender. Plus, the homemade cone is yummy yelpalicious! I think I might just come back here tonight after writing this.

I love ice cream, I try a lot of different ice cream and I'm usually never disappointed. I went here and the workers looked annoyed. I ordered a single scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough, disgusting. I've tried many cookie dough flavors before, even the low calorie cookie dough ice cream is better than this one. It was SO SALTY and disgusting. I went up there after I took a few licks forcing myself to maybe like it, I told them it was really salty and I didn't like it and I asked for a different cone, expecting to not have to pay for it, because what kind of cookie dough ice cream is super salty, I obviously didn't expect that which is why I didn't need to taste test it first. The workers gave me dirty looks and got my new scoop of vanilla ice cream (super super bland btw but I didn't wanna take my chances on something salty again) and I had to pay over $5 for an even smaller scoop of what they gave me first. I just ended up giving it to my boyfriend. This place definitely is overrated.

Due to COVID-19, they have a small table set-up outside of the shop. When I came by, there was a lot of street parking and there was one woman running the table. I ordered half a pint of Olive Oil ice cream and it came in a cute little container! Unfortunately, they did not have any utensils! Since I was on a road trip, I also did not have any spoons on hand... I ended up eating my ice cream with a plastic knife that I found in my glove compartment LOL The Olice Oil ice cream itself was very creamy and dense. It has a somewhat "minty" taste to it. Very satisfied with the ice cream despite eating it with a plastic butter knife.

Simply the best organic ice cream in town! They made fresh waffle cones, and waffle bowls. Some of their ice cream flavors on the menu is seasonal so make sure to ask before you order so you can get the one -of-a-kind rare flavors ;-) The store is always willing to give you many free samples and never ran into a rude employee b/c I kept asking for more. :-) They are so generous with their portions of scoops. One of the many reasons I love this place. I love how this place has a swing/rocker for adults and kids. It is always such a treat to sit at and sway back and forth, this is a hot commodity so if it is taken up enjoy their outdoor patio. They offer a few toys for children to play at, the items are so adorable! If you are not too hungry for ice cream a kid scoop always hits the spot. Their indoor restroom is small but usually pretty clean. I only went in there once or twice, a long time ago. ( I need to go in again other Yelpers) I love that this place offers steel spoons and biodegradable spoons!

Disappointed with the flavors of the ice cream served here. We tried the peach and cherry chip. Neither had much flavor. A cute place with seating indoors but ice cream is mediocre. $4.75 for a single scoop.

I've been coming here since 2015 and I love the ice cream when it's not thawed and refrozen, which does happen often here. However lately every time I go in the specific people working are often so rude. The last few times I went with my lady on a date, the same girl with a horrible attitude put my wife's cone upside down in a bowl and smashed just to prove some kind of catty point. beware of going here on a date!

This place is really cute. Definitely unique inside with the play areas for the kids. Outside they have a very nice patio. The icecream was great and the girls working the counter were very nice and seemed happy to be there. Glad we stopped by

I don't live in the area, but Arcata Scoop makes me wish I did. This is the tastiest ice cream I've ever tried. The lemon poppyseed flavor is amazing. Definitely try this place if you haven't yet. Also, the outside and inside of the shop make the experience feel delightful.

Consistently the best ice cream in Humboldt County! I personally test an ice cream parlor by their Vanilla flavor. Not only was it delicious, it was the best tasting Vanilla ice cream I've had in recent memory! Since then, I have tried a few other flavors and can confidently recommend the Coffee, Coconut and Chai Spice. I also appreciate that they collaborate with local farmers to come out with seasonal ice creams. Most definitely give them a try!

The ice cream here is pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I haven't had issues with the people that work there as they all have been nice. My main issues are 1) how expensive it is for such a small amount of ice cream, 2) they change their flavors but it isn't consistent when they will change, and 3) the hours are all over the map. Closing at 7 on a weekday but 10pm on Sunday night? It makes no sense. That is on top of the multiple times I've tried to come here but they have some weird hours like closing early for someone's birthday or fathers/Mother's Day? And they of course don't answer the phone or post the change of hours to their Facebook. So can I say to come here for the ice cream? Sure...but it's Russian roulette if they will even be open when you get there.

My boyfriend and I both love the lavender honey ice cream and the lemon poppyseed one, it's popular so if you want those flavors you'll have to go earlier on since at night it tends to be dwindled down to only 2-3 flavors left. The place is super cute and well decorated but small. The only complaint is the service, everytime i've been there the girls working are extremely rude and look at you as though you are a nuisance. They act annoyed when you ask questions and make you feel pressured to hurry and order so you can leave. The ice cream is delicious but customer service needs a lot of help.

We were on our way home from the Oregon coast and needed some ice cream after a several hours in the car. Looked up in Yelp and found this great place in Arcata. Outstanding ice cream and very nice staff. The place is like an old time amusement park inside with seating like a merry go'round. Definitely recommend this place.

Yes, this place was great. We went here 3 night in a row. Great set of changing flavors. Parking is street parking only. There's a small outdoor patio on the side.

Stopped by this place and tried their honey lavender vanilla, surprisingly great combination of flavors. Just be mindful of finding parking and getting to here, otherwise a great place for a treat.

I could rave about this place for days - I love ice cream so much and Arcata Scoop always does it right! I love the versatile and ever-changing menu, the eccentric selections, and most importantly the delicious flavors packed into every batch of ice cream they make. The homemade waffle cones and bowls are definitely a perk of the shop, too... and whatever you choose to hold your ice cream in is already included in the price! The staff is always friendly and keep the place tidy and spotless. The shop is kid-friendly, and they'll enjoy the rocking bench seating, mini ice cream parlor play area, and a functional, coin-operated carousel bunny. Seating is somewhat limited and can get pretty packed during peak hours, but I promise it's worth it! I highly recommend trying some of their unconventional flavors such as the popular honey vanilla lavender, orange cardamon, and Earl Grey tea. These and other lively and interesting flavors make this ice cream shop so fun to revisit again and again!

Such a cute little ice cream shop with premium ice cream! Their selection of flavors is seasonal but some of my favorites have been blueberry, honey lavender and cardamon. The employees are incredibly kind and helpful and the environment is very family friendly.

Wow! Visiting with my daughter for college. This place will certainly add to the Freshman 15...maybe it'll be 20. Great flavors, great waffle cone. We wanted to come back our second night but we had a late dinner only to realize they closed earlier. I should have listened to my daughter who wanted to have ice cream for dinner. Can't wait to come back when we drop our daughter off for college in August. As one of the reviews that I read this is one of the highlights of Arcata. So grab an ice cream and walk the square. If you walk long enough maybe Los Bagels across the street may open...

Don't believe the online menu!! At any given time, they only have 8-12 flavors available. On the evening of our visit, every single interesting-sounding flavor shown online was unavailable. Serving sizes are small and prices are high. The ice cream is fine but the overall experience here was very disappointing.

I honestly didn't even know high-level ice cream was a thing. I mean, we know it's a thing, but this is some excellent execution. That honey vanilla lavender ice cream is delicious. Everything I've had there has been good tbh. But yeah, the honey vanilla lavender. Also, it would be great if they did lower or no added sugar option (stevia perhaps? Could it be done without erythritol, perhaps instead with something like pure monk fruit and still pop as far as taste? Hmm. It's nice to go out for ice cream once in a while, ya' know?

It's so cute in here and the ice cream flavors are amazing! I got the coffee and cinnamon flavors together in a waffle bowl which was an amazing combo. I want to try the blackberry swirl next

This parlor is pricey. The flavors are wonderful but often the texture leans toward icy rather than creamy. They need to up the fat content and/or slow the churn time for a more consistent creamy texture.

Hands down best ice cream between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. One of my favorites in the country as well. Small batch in house made. Quality, flavor and consistency are all spot on!! Definitely give these folks a go!!

Very cute place, and convenient for those visiting from out of town. They usually have a wide variety of traditional and untraditional flavors. They can be pretty packed at times, but they usually go pretty quick. Great place!

Delicious chocolate ice cream, which made up for my not so good dinner that I couldn't eat. Ice cream for dinner , why not! . The chocolate flavor was just right, good strong flavor of chocolate and not overly sweet. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop by.

Uber delicious ice cream, great service and lovely outdoor seating. There's indoor seating as well! Really enjoyed it and will return again when I'm back in Arcata.
