Archaeological Museum of Mytilene

Excellent sightseeing visitor experience for all tourists. Helpful staff provide guidance and answer queries. There are plenty of different exhibition areas depending on tourist's interests. Photography is allowed without flash option, but videos are allowed. Entrance fee 10€ for all except for certain categories.

An excellent museum with some unique exhibits like the mosaics from a Roman villa of Hellenistic times. And if you can get Ismene to be your guide, you will enjoy it even more!

Fantastic mosaiacs and some interesting objects. Random non sequential jumbling of item numbers and text contributed to it being a bit inaccessible. As with so many museums, would benefit from a rewrite of the narratives for brevity and clarity together with placing the objects in the broader historical and geopolitical forces that shaped this beautiful island over the millenia.

The location of the museum is so close to Ferries. We walked all the way there but be careful on sunny days. It may be hot, wear your hat. The museum is so close to a park and a beach. If you have swimsuits with you, you may swim. When you get in there, there is a small reception on the left. If you don’t want to carry your backpack with you, there are locked wardrobes. It looks like museum is a calm place and few people visits there but valuable. There is always a lady directs you during the trip. Rooms are little bit complicated but someone helps, no worries. I had almost 100 photos, the system doesn’t let me upload all. I may try it later. Anyway, the museum is cool, I enjoyed it. I hope you can also like it. Enjoy your trip!

Very fascinating look at the history of Lesvos and Mytilene. The restored mosaic floors and the replica kitchen were my highlights. If you appreciate Roman artifacts I would recommend going

really beautiful collection!! so fascinating to see the recreations of the buildings and architecture they had collected mosaics from, and you can even walk on them (on protected glass) to full explore the size and magnitude of the art!! really cool place to visit

It is a beautiful museum with very interesting excibits. The museum closes at 15:30. I got in at 14:20. At about 15:00 ... the personnel .... hmm .... let's just say that the way they moved around and talked to each other made me feel uncomfortable and not welcome. 5 stars for the excibits and the presentation.
