An amazing archaeological museum! You will discover that throughout Greece the smaller “country” museums always contain true treasures. The museum in Nafplio is no exception. My favorite artifact is the Dendra Panoply. This is a bronze set of armor from around 1400 BC. What is truly unique about this armor is grave robbers “hit” this grave and just barely missed the real treasures in the grave. The armor was supplemented with a boar tusk helmet. Many of the other artifacts in this museum were found at Tiryns. I cannot stress enough how important this museum is and should be on everyone’s list when in Nafplio.

A very nice archaeological museum, not too big so it’s easy to explore without feeling rushed. The museum is well organized, with two floors dedicated to the ancient cultures of the region. You can use an audio guide, and there are several sort of benches between the displays where you can sit, rest and listen to the commentary. The staff are friendly and helpful. Just be aware that the stairs to both the first and second floors are quite steep. Overall, a pleasant and interesting visit!

This a tiny, absolutely unnecessary, however, very charming museum. It is two storeys of findings from Mykene epoch, which is a lot earlier than classical Greek. No hands on experience for the kids. However the exhibition itself is versatile enough for everyone to find something interesting. Most notable items have a good explanation in English.

Maybe is the smallest Archaeological museum I have ever visit. Just four rooms or two floors.. 10 euros entrance and no more of one hour you will need to see the things that have inside. At the old city you can find this museum..and as always Greece is full of ancient stuff.

The Archaeological Museum of Nafplio is a museum in the town of Nafplio of the Argolis region in Greece. It has exhibits of the Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Helladic, Mycenaean, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods from all over southern Argolis. The museum is situated in the central square of Nafplion. It is housed in two floors of the old Venetian barracks. The oldest exhibits in the museums are Paleolithic clay hearths from the Kleisoura Gorge near Prosymna (32,000-21,000 BCE)

Simply impressive. Do you have the opportunity to go? Then don't skip it. The history and energy of this place are truly special, the silence and serenity are magical. We went on a tour through Booking, and this is the most honest review: Without a tour, it’s very difficult to reach this place from Athens. So, for the transportation and transfers, it's 100% worth it. The guide is very limited since it’s through a device (What we did was add GPT to WhatsApp to ask it in real time the things we wanted to know)🤣 Enjoy!

This museum has an impressive collection of artifacts from nearby archaeological sites. The items are exhibited with helpful explanations. There is also a silent video.
