Lovely modern museum outlining growth in Nicopolis area and growth of Christianity in Roman empire. Can get a bus from Preveza or walk 30 mins from there. Ensure you include site A open, a further 2km more with Byzantine wall area.

The Archaeological Museum of Nikopolis is located at the north entrance of the city of Preveza. It is dedicated to the ancient site of Nikopolis, providing essential insights into the history and artifacts discovered in the region. I recommend visiting the museum before the archaeological site by the way. It also overview the history of the city over 2000 years from the creation in the Roman period to Late Antiquity following the modern time.

Simple layout with artifacts from the excavation nearby. Somewhat interesting but not for €10 per person. Takes about 30 minutes to walk around.

The museum is excellent and well thought out. It gives you a lot of information about Nicopolis. How it formed, different time periods and how it has come to be in it's present state. It is a shame though that the actual archeological site is poorly managed.

A wonderful collection is housed in this small new building hosting findings from the site of Nicopolis. As the excavation progresses, it seems quite certain that a much larger facility will be required. Only a very small section of the city has been unearthed. The exhibits offer an interesting depiction of life in the city of Augustus. Small and well-designed, it is an easy and untroubled visit for all. Most likely it will also be a pleasant one.

Surprisingly informative, descriptive museum with a diverse array of artifacts from the hellenic era Roman ruins on an older Greek city site.
