Small but excellent museum for the history of ancient Nikopolis. Nice selection of information coins and statues. Correct size for kids, they will not be tired.

Lovely modern museum outlining growth in Nicopolis area and growth of Christianity in Roman empire. Can get a bus from Preveza or walk 30 mins from there. Ensure you include site A open, a further 2km more with Byzantine wall area.

Simple layout with artifacts from the excavation nearby. Somewhat interesting but not for €10 per person. Takes about 30 minutes to walk around.

The Archaeological Museum of Nikopolis is located at the north entrance of the city of Preveza. It is dedicated to the ancient site of Nikopolis, providing essential insights into the history and artifacts discovered in the region. I recommend visiting the museum before the archaeological site by the way. It also overview the history of the city over 2000 years from the creation in the Roman period to Late Antiquity following the modern time.

I honestly wasn’t expecting much going into the Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis but it exceeded my expectations. We were greeted by a lovely lady and payed €10 for our ticket. For a family of 3 you may be thinking oh my €30 for a museum, but the Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis is different. If you are under 18 years of age you get in for free! So in total we paid €10!! Going into the exhibition it was an immense and surreal feeling. We got to learn about the founder and the roman mythology- which I find very fascinating!- And the best part we got to touch every immense sculpture, every hidden gem, every bit of treasure. Going into the next exhibition we learnt about life in the city. And this did not disappoint. There were immense pots and pans. We learnt about the British explorers and christianity, WW2, funerals, tombs, air raids in WW2 where the Archaeological Site of Nicopolis was almost destroyed!! In total the Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis did not disappoint.

Wow, wow and WOW! What an immense hidden gem! The Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis is truly a quaint treasure where there is so much to see and do! The immense artefacts are truly amazing! What was crazy was The Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis was completely empty! Why, I must ask? It truly is a wondrous hidden gem! The Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis is a must visit for anyone who wants to see both quaint and immense Ancient Roman and Greek history and artefacts! This hidden treasure is up there with the immense museums across the globe, but without the huge price tag!

The museum is excellent and well thought out. It gives you a lot of information about Nicopolis. How it formed, different time periods and how it has come to be in it's present state. It is a shame though that the actual archeological site is poorly managed.
