All of us tend to focus on the large museums in the metropolitan centers. While you should absolutely see these museums, please do not do this at the expense of ignoring the fantastic museums outside of these areas. The Archaeological Museum of Piraeus is a perfect example of this. This museum is amazing and should not be missed. Please look at the pictures we took at this museum and reach your own conclusion.

What an amazing museum! I don't think this is visited anywhere near enough as it should be. Incredible collection of artifacts found locally. The grave stele are amazing, but the key pieces of this museum are the bronze statues, they are good enough to be in any museum in the world, incredible! We had the place to ourselves and it was fantastic!

If you are enthusiast of greek history, you will definitely enjoy it. Statues, pieces of marbel, little pieces, there is also some site outside. It's really like any other greek museum lol For me it's like my Wife said "if you have seen one, you have seen them all". Thats why you need to be enthusiast.

There is a huge variety of artifacts featured in the museum, esprcially those found in the area of Piraeus. Must-see are the bronze statues of Athena and Artemis in the second floor of the museum and focus on the eyes of the statues--they'rw impressively realistic.

A must-visit if you like history or Greek mythology. There's two floors filled with art and also a space outside in the sun with more of it. Beware, the ticket is not 4€, no matter what Maps says.

A site worth visiting if you want to make the most of your visit in Piraeus. Also suggest buying archaeologist's Georgios Steinhauer's book from inside the museum for a more in depth comprehension of Piraeus' History.

The museum itself has some beautiful things to offer. Bronze statues are absolutely amazing for example. The 5th star is missing because of the receptionist, who insisted that the card payment was not possible and I must play in cash, but then could not give me the change. So magically the card reader was working again. And the man was definitely angry inside.

Museum is very spacious, cool, and uncrowded. Many of the exhibits are not behind glass, so you can walk all the way round them and see all the detail. Labels in Greek and English, plus an online guide via QR code. Some beautiful pieces - Hadrian is very impressive. The bronzes are incredible - put into safe keeping in 86BCE and only rediscovered in 1959! Really increasing slab of official measurements. Definitely worth a visit. 10€ entry, despite what the website says. You can pay by card. No shop, no cafe. Loos available .
