Lovely little museum with ancient greek pottery and sculptures, including the Cup of Nestor which dates from around 750 BC and has one of the earliest examples of writing using the greek alphabet. The museum is a former villa which has gorgeous views of the sea, mountains and town.

It is a museum in need of a make-over. The finds are very exciting, after all from the first ancient Greek (Euboian) colony in Italy from the beginning at the 8th century B.C. "Nestor's cup" with an early Greek inscription is here, but exhibited so you cannot see the inscription. However, I like that the exhibition goes from the earliest funds and up, and also includes geology - an important part of the island.

Of course out of season, however maintenance is way behind on the buildings and the garden. The main gate is closed with prm access so the only access is the ramp to the parking. The ticket box upstairs is closed and downstairs not very well placed. Would skip it.

Modern marketing. Probably the smallest exhibition ever. Could provide more detail and storytelling about their very few pieces of interest.

Great little museum in a stunning setting with an excellent collection of (mostly small) artefacts from the history of the island.

Highly informative about the pre-Grecco and Grecco colonies on the island. Wonderful pottery exhibits. In Italian and English.

There were issues with pay, but they let us in for free. Very friendly and kind. The museum was lovely as well. Well recommended!
