We loved this stop, came here on an excursion from our cruise ship that docked in Salerno. Great ruins, fascinating. Greek & Roman ruins. Hot in the sun, bring water, not much shade while walking the ruins. Wayside signs explained what you were looking at in English.

The park and grounds are in much better condition than I anticipated.
We bought a guided tour in English language by an archeologist so we could much better understand the site. I highly recommend this! In about two hours she walked us around the site, pointing out interesting points and facts about what was Greek and what was Roman.
Afterwards she walked us through the museum across the street (which is a fantastic museum!) and told us more facts.
Since your ticket is good for a couple days, you’re free to them roam around the park and see anything else you may be interested in.
Major bonus, they block the street in front of the park to car traffic so it’s a much safer and relaxed stroll around the area. You can easily grab a coffee or buffalo burger to refuel.

Fantastic place to visit. Walkable distances and you can take as much time as u want. The museum which is included in the ticket price holds a lot of interesting items. I wished I had visited the museum first before entering the site. I could have imagined things more better with this background info, but this might be a personal preference.

Beautifully maintained. I’d highly recommend going here if you’re into architecture and archaeology. Fascinating. Good food stops nearby too. Great parking within steps of the museum. 3 euro lot.

Beautifully preserved temples and great walk through. If one has time, include the museum. A stroll by at night is also very much worth it, perhaps after grabbing dinner at one of the many restaurants along the old walls in Via Tavernelle (pedestrian-only area in the evening, very lively). Bistrot 73 was our choice for the evening

Beautiful park and a wonderful experience to amble freely among Greek ruins. If you visit in the summer, bring water and an umbrella for shade, as there is very little in the park and it can get very hot. There is a lot to explore—and you will want to explore as much as possible—so come prepared. A lot is flat-ish, but not really handicap accessible. One of the temples to Hera is accessible for wheelchairs and those with difficulties moving; it would be easier to access it by entering the park via the south entrance.

This was a great day adventure from Naples and/or Salerno. Mostly flat walking area that shows Greek ruins and architecture dating back over 2000-2500 BC. Drive was easy and your travel down the Italian Coast from Salerno. Plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy the beach along the way.
Of note, there were no areas to sit rest inside archaeological area unless you sat on the ground. Area is fairly large and pet friendly with ample grass for your dog. Museum was less impressive. Definitely recommend visiting this site while in the area.

If you are in the area, it really is worth a visit. We loved walking around and imagining how the houses were organised and the temples are impressive. We went early April and then we did not need to buy a ticket in advance. There are no audio guides so we bought a book to find out more about the site.
