Great food, and is in a flour mill that is also a historic Utah landmark.

First time on the area and it’s so cute.. I can’t believe I didn’t know this restaurant was here all this time.. We got the broccoli cheddar soup, and it was really good. A little bit salty. But good. I got the Chicken sandwich with the chipotle solo and it was kinda spicy for my taste.. but not bad at all! We also got the Philly and the club sandwich that were good.. And then the raviolis with Alfredo sauce, which wasn’t good at all. It was pretty much like soup and tasted it like flour I don’t recommend it anything else Was Really Good.

Dined at Archibald’s restaurant tonight for an event and it was a fantastic experience! Marcia J helped arrange the event and shared the history of Gardner Village and it was very interesting to hear! I had no idea that the property and restaurant had been here as long as it’s been! The restaurant was a lovely venue with a good amount of space for any event! The staff was welcoming and the restaurant was clean and had a lot of character. Food was fantastic and I can’t wait to go back to try their FRIED GREEN TOMATOES!! Also, I may or may not have purchased a container of their AMAZING blackberry butter. 😬

Google
So impressed with this restaurant! We loved the food. I had the lemon chicken entree and it was delicious! Others tried the pot pie and pot roast and they loved it! Definitely going to try the chicken pot pie next time.

We had my sisters baby shower in the Upper silo! It was an amazing experience!! The food was beautifully served and delicious! They made sure we were always taken care of and helped with everything we needed!! It went so smoothly and we couldn’t be more thankful!

The service was amazing. Our waitress was very knowledgeable. Very easy-going. We met family there and wanted to reminisce and they never rushed us out. The rest of the area is so fun to walk around it’s beautiful. It’s quiet lots of shady spots. Lots of places to sit. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend.

Google
This is a nice restaurant for a small or large group. There are a number of activities around and the opportunity to schedule events. The food is good, the service and atmosphere are great. The origin story is shared on the menu. It is nice to know why the area has maintained the original look. They don’t really take reservations but you can call early in the day and they will try to let you know if they can have space for your party. I suggest you try the fried green tomatoes and carrot cake!

Google
My business cakes by Edith hosted our employee holiday party at this amazing establishment. This was our first year doing a holiday party with this many employees but it was amazing. They decorated the room so beautifully. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! We got so many people ask us about this place- I will def recommend from now on!

Google
This time I liked the food a lot more. I had the prime rib dinner and it was well seasoned but it was medium well when I ordered medium. My veggies were delicious, but a huge piece of cauliflower was completely raw. They were packed full for Witchfest so I'll give them a break. The rolls were great with the pumpkin butter. It was a nice witches night out dinner. Such a fun tradition!

Yelp
I will drive 45 minutes just to have their fried green tomatoes!!!!! They have this amazing dipping sauce that comes with them. Sooooo good!

Yelp
I love Archibalds!! I've been coming with my family here for years. Their food is consistently well prepared and always delicious! The shopping village to walk around after is a huge plus! Great place for families!

Yelp
I brought my sister here who was visiting from out-of-state. We had a nice time walking around the area then stopped here for a mid-afternoon snack. We ordered their artichoke dip that came with tortilla chips and toasted bread triangles with butter and broiled Parmesan cheese. It was delicious. Large enough appetizer for the two of us. They also gave us hot rolls with seasonal pumpkin butter. It was yummy--not too sweet. Our server Keri checked on us several times to refill water, etc. It was a good dining experience. I like their comfy booths.

Yelp
Good variety in the lunch menu from sandwiches to dinner entrees. Service is always great.

Yelp
Disappointed in the Santa Fe salad with chicken here -- not a lot of flavor for all the ingredients included. But the real laughable piece was that they were "sold out" of the soup of the day, when we were the second party in the entire restaurant to be seated.

Yelp
We stopped by for lunch after taking family pictures. What's not pictured is the rolls and strawberry jam that were gone quicker than I could open this yelp app! I miss restaurants having rolls. I ordered a classic burger and fries and my husband with the enchiladas. Both tasted to good. I loved the balsamic glaze on the toast. We did have a short wait and we ended up having to leave our stroller in the waiting area because of the small walk ways. Our sever was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu.

Yelp
The rolls are light and fluffy on the inside with a nice crisp outside. The appetizer spinach artichoke dip was splendid with chunks of artichoke. The chips tasted homemade and the buttered toast with Parmesan was splendid. The Pot roast can be eaten without your teeth in, so tender and seasoned perfectly. Even real mashed potatoes. Vegetables slightly undercooked. Lemon artichoke chicken pasta needs seasoning, bland, the noodles cooked perfectly. I would have liked a little more lemon but that's a personal preference. Added amd kept adding salt and a little pepper. That helped.

Yelp
Another great visit to Archibald's! The bacon and potato soup they have right now is so delicious, and so are the raspberry and blueberry butters. The bread service was a little slow this time, but after that everything went smoothly. We got our daughter a macaroni kids meal, and it consisted of a HUGE bowl of pasta. She had a ton of leftovers for lunches!

Yelp
Archibald's is a great little oasis in a delightful shopping area that is rich with boutiques, landscaping and beauty. The wait was a bit long but we were able to shop while we waited so it wasn't so bad! The hostess was friendly and welcoming, that's one of the most important factors when we decide to wait or not! What stands out the most for us was the service, it was impeccable! She was so friendly and kind, stopping to chat with us even though every table was seated. She didn't seem rushed yet she never missed a beat! I sure wish I remembered her name, she definitely deserved a shout out! The food was great! We didn't expect the down home fare and were very happy to see it! The Avocado Fries are the most important thing on the menu, hands down the best I've ever had! The chicken pot pie was amazing, the pot roast was tender and full of comfort and the fish and chips were very lightly battered making them so much more enjoyable. Those drinks though, they definitely hit the spot! Fun, fruity, fresh choices made by a seasoned mixologist for sure! We'll be back if we're ever in the area again!

Yelp
Overall, Gardner Village is such a cute little place to walk around on a Saturday afternoon! We came to Archibald's for lunch and had great food! The salad was a generous portion and we both enjoyed our meals. The service by LEXI was so smooth and enjoyable! She was friendly and provided just the right touches throughout our meal. Somewhat limited selections on the menu but we found great choices. I have to mention that upon our entry to the restaurant, it's very unprofessional and off putting - and very noticeable - for the hostess to chew her gum in the manner in which she does. This should change? Overall, a great experience.

Yelp
We dined at Archibald's today for lunch. The old grist mill turned restaurant is a fun place to dine out. It is decorated with a rustic yet elegant motif. Service was fair to good. The server started right out with an excuse that he didn't realize he had our table. We didn't even care nor paid any attention to the time it took him to get to us. He was attentive and knew the menu options well. We had the half and half combo appetizer to start. Fried green tomatoes are not a common menu item in the off season in many places. They were good. I felt they could have been seasoned better and the breading was just not right. The sauce that came with them was better than the tomatoes and avocados. For entrees, there were two mill burgers, the almond chicken salad croissant and a Cobb salad. The Cobb salad was very good paired with the balsamic vinaigrette. Plenty of veggies. The burgers were very good and decently sized. The onion rings were delicious. The potato salad was good as well. The chicken salad was good. It was a nice meal and we would all go back.

Yelp
After a nice walk, our favorite lunch destination is Archibald's! Love the sandwich and soup combo and the staff is always nice and friendly:)

Yelp
always excellent service, great atmosphere, best managers ever! Highly recommended for special occasion or just need a fun night out.

Yelp
The ambience of Archibald's is cute, and they've obviously renovated in the last few years. There's also a certain magic to their holiday events, like having witches come to the tables in October. That said, it doesn't outweigh the poor food quality Archibald's is rather infamous for. I've been twice. The first time, a guest of mine was served a still-frozen chicken pot pie. The second time, our meat was tough and chewy. I don't recommend them, overall, for a family meal.

Yelp
We were seated very quickly for a Saturday afternoon. The food and service were both incredible. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Archibalds is one of my boyfriend's favorite restaurants and also happens to be one of our first dates you could say. It's in the Gardner Village district in West Jordan and the menu is pretty diverse. Service is always good and it doesn't take long to get your food ordered, delivered, and ending with the check to be on your way.

Yelp
This is definitely an expensive restaurant for what you get. The food is hit and miss. 5 stars--The rolls and butter would get 5 stars because they are served warm and taste like a comfort food. The half and half appetizer was wonderful! The fired avocado and fried green tomatoes with the sauce came out crispy and warm, which would also get 5 stars. My boyfriend got the pot roast, and it was extremely rich. The potatoes and vegetables balanced the flavor. The meat was tender and not too chewy. There were also good portion sizes, but my boyfriend finished it in one sitting. 4 stars--The French dip is good depending on your preferences. It doesn't have a memeteoable flavor, and it was rather bland. The meat itself was melted in with cheese, onions, and mushrooms. The meat, though, was flavorless. The bread it came on was good, but the au jus was greasy and bland as well. The French dip comes with a side choice of fries, pasta, or a side salad (the salad was fresh and well made). 1 star--The broccoli cheese soup was pulverized to the point of a gritty texture, similar to baby food. The taste was mediocre and nothing special. The service was wonderful, and she was fast and kept our drinks full. The ambiance is conflicting because, at a glance, it is a fun restaurant that has a great atmosphere. However, "the devil is in the details," and the booth's seat was torn and the wall was dirty, splashed with drinks and food.

Yelp
The food is delicious. My wife had the pot roast with gravy and I had a French dip. Service was friendly and fast. The ambience was casual and fun as we're here during a Witchfest.

Yelp
We like to not o at Christmas time. We love the ambience at Gardner Village. as for Archibald's restaurant, my husband and I think it is a very quaint place with a wonderful atmosphere and country kitchen style food. let's just get straight everybody, if you're going to Archibald's, you can expect some amazing rolls with incredible seasonal butter. The rolls and the butter by themselves are worth going to Archibald's for, in my opinion. As for the food, My husband got the teriyaki chicken stirfry, which he has ordered several times before. although this time he found it to be overly sauced, (Kinda soupy) he still found it delightful and ate it all. I got the lemon artichoke chicken pasta with gluten-free pasta. it tasted great and they serve you large portions, so I brought home leftovers. they do an excellent job with their soups and salads and I would recommend the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. It is awesome. Unfortunately, you might have read reviews with complaints about the bathroom and don't like to confirm the other reviews but I must. The women's bathroom needs a lot of work. It just smells bad. the first stall that I walked into the toilet was dirty on the outside and the bathroom overall just reeked. I tried to not breathe as much as possible. my husband found that the men's restroom does not share the same problem. so maybe Archibald should light a candle in the women's bathroom or something I mean come on it's pretty bad fix event, put in event whatever it takes guys. And there is definitely an odor outside that would curl the toes of an elf if you catch my drift. my advice to Archibald's is to keep up the awesome food and please help the women's bathroom, and if it's in your control, talk to Gardner Village and the city about that nasty sewage smell that is still there and it has been there for the past couple of years. Maaan is it stinky. No amount of Christmas lights and Christmas music is going to distract people from inhaling sewage smell. Anyway, thank you chefs, staff for your friendly and attentive service, and holiday cheer.

Yelp
We came to celebrate Valentine's Day. We decided to choose the Valentines for two option. This included a limited menu with the friend green tomatoes appetizer and a choice of a few entrees and one of two desserts. The dinner also came with fresh baked rolls and strawberry butter. These were pretty great. The fried green tomatoes were similar to fried pickles and had a nice sauce. My wife opted for the salmon with asparagus and rice pilaf. The salmon was cooked well and had a nice finishing sauce. The asparagus was cooked perfectly as well. Neither of us cared for the rice. I opted for the pork chops, which had a nice pan and a good creamy sauce. I also enjoyed the asparagus. The mashed potatoes and gravy were not that great. Finally, for dessert, we shared the raspberry cheesecake, which was pretty tasty.

Yelp
Archibald's is an excellent restaurant and has an impressively diverse menu. It feels like you can't go too wrong with any dish as you see other patrons entrees as the waiters walk by or neighboring diners are served their dishes. The service is fast and friendly and parking lot is easy for parking.

Yelp
Guys, I cheated on my old standby...and I don't feel a lick of guilt about it. Here's the deal-for years, I've been coming to Archibald's and enjoying my go-to meal: chicken pot pie. It's delicious. But tonight, I was feeling like something a little lighter, so I took a chance on a salad. And.....this is my official "goodbye" letter to the pot pie. Dear Chicken Pot Pie, Thank you for being my steady comfort food for so many years. You got me through good times and bad, always providing that warm, filling satisfaction that only a pot pie can. However, it's come time for me to move on. I'm moving on to healthier things, specifically your enemy, the strawberry & spinach salad. I didn't go looking for trouble, but I found it. And I'm never turning back. Love, Nycole For real though-this salad was amazing. Amazing enough to turn me away from my old favorite. Here's to new favorites, that are better on my waistline anyway.

Yelp
Cutest restaurant to visit during Halloween! The funnest witches came and chatted as we ate. The food was amazing. Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
The food is excellent I got the top sirloin steak oh my goodness it was the best steak I've ever had. The service was also good. Ambience was cute.

Yelp
I haven't been here in about 30 years. I received a birthday coupon and decided to give it a try today. The service was very good. The food was just ok. It is very overpriced for the amount of food given. The butter for the bread has lemon zest and I found that to be a little off putting. It wasn't gross and I love lemon but I found the taste a bit odd. My husband got the chicken lemon artichoke pasta and it was just ok. I will say the noodles were just Al dente and that was fantastic but the sauce was runny and the smell and flavor a little strange. Aside from the perfectly cooked noodles, we weren't a big fan. I had the fish and chips. The breading was really great. It was light and fluffy and not loaded in grease. The chips were just very average and nothing worth noting really. The tartar sauce had a strong vinegar taste. I know many like vinegar with their fish. I am just not a huge vinegar fan myself. If you like vinegar, you would probably enjoy the tartar sauce. We also ordered the half and half appetizer with fried avocado and fried green tomatoes. Those were delicious and the creamy salsa sauce that came with them was pretty tasty too. We rarely get dessert but decided to try the carrot cake. The cake was very dense, moist and delicious. It was everything a carrot cake should be. The frosting was good but I could do without the butterscotch drizzle. While I wasn't blown away with the food, I didn't hate itS I probably won't be running to visit again anytime in the near future but I am glad we gave it a try. The restaurant itself is super cute, it smells amazing and the service was great.

Yelp
The small town diner feel ends with the aesthetics of the restaurant. Service was spotty and the food was severely overpriced. This isn't a place I'm in any rush to go back to.

Yelp
Archibald's not only has fresh, delicious food, but the location is second to none. Gardner Village is a quaint, historic shopping village with brick-lined paths and historic buildings. It's darling! We love to come for lunch/dinner and shopping! I've been coming here with family and friends for decades.

Yelp
Went there for their carrot cake, said they had the best, very disappointed hardly any icing had a different taste, skip the cake!!!

Yelp
I've been to Archibald's during witches night out in October a few times but I was excited to check out the area not during October. Went here on a date this past week & I was reminded how much I love place! The outside is beside with the water wheels & little creek. Staff was great & very helpful & honest with food recommendations. We asked how the enchilada were & our waitress was very honest in saying they were good, but not authentic. We both appreciated this honesty. My date ended up ordering them & he really liked them. I ordered the margarita raviolis. There was so much sauce on these! I ended up dipping the rolls they bring out in it. I was surprised it didn't come with a French bread just for the amount of sauce on this dish. The ravioli's were good. Not seen really in the picture though. Loved the country like decor. I love their variety of appetizers & entrees. Can't wait to go back! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
It's my favorite restaurant in Utah! Comfort food at its finest! I rotate between the chicken pot pie, chicken cordon blue and California croissant sandwich

Yelp
Settled in Gardner Village which is a place that transports you to what seems another world with great atmosphere. Archibald's has always been a cute little restaurant with great food. They have fried green tomatoes which is a favorite of mine. We love our visits here. They have an amazing carrot cake as well. I love my visits here with my family, and it's a huge favorite for my mom as well. Whenever we visit Gardner Village we love to stop in for lunch or dinner. They do get super busy around dinner time and especially in October when the witches are out!
google avatar

Clarissa L.

Yelp
I decided to come here for my birthday dinner after doing a search for fried green tomatoes, and Archibald's looked the best. We go there about an hour and a half before they closed and were a little worried we wouldn't have time to eat because they were busy and gave us a 30 minute wait time. After about five minutes, the hostess let us know they figured out a way to get us a table sooner and we only had to wait about another five minutes while they cleaned off a table. During that time my kids wanted to explore and we downstairs to see they have a bar, and upstairs looked like a private dining area. We were taken to our table and the first thing I noticed was the jacket hooks. So helpful to have some extra space instead of piling them up in the booth. We ordered two half and half (fried avocados and green tomatoes) and artichoke dip for the appetizers and they were all so delicious. The avocados tasted so fresh and were at the unattainable perfect ripeness. The fried green tomatoes were also perfect and exactly what I had hoped for! Aside from the fried green tomatoes, I picked this place for their vegan/vegetarian options for someone in our group. I looked at a lot of places, but they had a large menu with options for everyone! I had the chicken cordon bleu and it was full of flavor and the sides were delicious as well! Like I wished it had came with more because it was all so good. Everyone else really enjoyed the dinner and we got some desserts to share. We got the carrot cake, creme brulee, and death by chocolate. The chocolate and carrot cake were so rich and the creme brulee was so creamy and was perfectly complemented with strawberries and whipped cream. Everything was so good, the service was great, and the whole experience made us want to go back.

Yelp
We arrived at the restaurant Abe were told that it would be a 30-45 minute wait. We put our name in and expected a text when our table was ready. We walked around and returned 30 mins later. There was no one at the waiting room. The hostess asked us what our name was and she said that they must've deleted our name. We were seated right away. I ordered the Friday/Saturday prime rib. My wife ordered the blackened salmon. We also ordered fried green tomatoes and chicken asparagus soup They brought us two really yummy rolls that were really dense. They were served with butter and cinnamon maple butter. The fried green tomatoes were coated in a panko breading and served with an aioli sauce. Nothing special. I felt like it was fried green tomatoes and fry sauce. The chicken asparagus soup wad another story. The soup has nice chucks of chicken and asparagus as well as bits of mushrooms. The flavor was ok at first. But when we added some salt and pepper to it, it was AMAZING!!! We actually ordered a second bowl The prime rib was cooked to perfection with a nice blackened crust. The horseradish sauce was very mild and complimented the au jus. The mash potatoes with mushroom gravy had plenty of flavor. My wife said her salmon was good but the blackened pepper was not very flavorful. She poured melted butter on to to bring out the flavor. The best part of the dinner is that my wife had a buy one entree get one entree free for her birthday. I had to try the slice of carrier cake. It was not what I had expected. I was expecting a wedge shaped cake and ended up with a square piece. The cake was definitely moist. The cream cheese frosting was not very sweet and had a buttery texture. The flavors grew on me. I would try one of the other desserts. They food and service more than made up the fact that they lost our name at the front desk. What a nice surprise!

Yelp
Archibald's hosted our wedding and made it the best possible day for us. They turned a private room in their restaurant into a beautiful scene and environment for a ceremony. Staff were incredibly kind, flexible, and patient with our wedding party and made every observable effort to make things perfect. Our organizer, Luis, was a fantastic point of contact and created a very fair custom contract that met every one of our needs. If there was a problem (if you could call it that) it was only that we got extra cake that we didn't need, but if you knock off any points for free extra cake you're a pod person or something inhuman. The food was fantastic, and a clear step above typical "event" food. I can't wait to come back as a normal customer and try the menu more. But, as an event venue, Archibald's went above and beyond basically every step of the way.

Yelp
I've only been to Archibald's three times and to be honest, I won't be again. The only reason I have found the pricing justifiable was that the pot roast was to die for, and came in portions that were worth the price. I don't know what changed in the past few years, but the pot roast is completely different (way more savory, no onions, small portion) and I'm just not impressed with the generic, undersized, photo perfect version that replaced what used to be the entire reason I went to Archibald's. Update: hey Marcia, that's interesting because I have spoken to many others who feel the same way and because I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy, I looked at the photos right here on Yelp to test my belief and wouldn't you believe it, I'm right! Even more, the preparation style differs substantially now, as the meat is no longer shreds or chunks, but cut squares. Additionally, what I was served had separate mashed potatoes rather than the chunked potatoes, a much smaller serving size, and seemed absent of carrots and onions. Either your kitchen staff are the most inconsistent lot ever, or you thought people wouldn't notice and doubled down on your reply to me.

Luis R R.

Yelp
the one thing i LOVED about the restaurant is that the people are just so nice, the food was so good and the service was amazing, our server was so kind and the hostess isa even through all the people that were getting mad a frustrated she kept a calm and composed additude and seated us and gave me and my family a reason to enjoy the meal. overall it was amazing and will come back again!!

Cari Lyn H.

Yelp
never get the chicken cordon bleu at Archibald's restaurant! It is the worst I have ever had! It was so dried out and hard and no cheese in it and even the sauce on it was dry and not moist! The waitress brought me another one, and I took it home to heat up at home and it was exactly the same way, even though I barely heated it up. my roommate also got the same thing and hers was just as bad! I had this a few years ago at Archibald's and remembered really liking it but this stuff was not the same and seemed like something that was purchased, frozen and heated up, or may have even had freezer burn, I'm not sure I would want any of their dinners after trying this one! I will try to upload a picture also

Yelp
Archibald's is a nice place to go for families and a go-to for us when we have family visiting. The food is consistently good, the service is attentive and kind, and waiting times haven't exceeded 15 minutes during busy times. The building itself is a ton of fun as it is nestled in Gardener Village, an historic area of town with cute, small-town/cottage appeal and stores with toys, yarn, fudge/taffy, clothing, and more. There is a functional waterwheel gently circling right next to the restaurant door which everyone loves and makes for a great family/group photo spot (this is the mill that the area is known for). Our favorites are the prime rib (super limited special only available on Friday and Saturday and sells out fast), fish and chips (this also sells out), Pot Roast, and chicken pot pie. The food isn't dynamite but it's yummy, hearty American comfort food that you and the family will enjoy. The real exception to the non-dynamite comment is the fried green tomatoes. They are AWESOME. I highly recommend these. Even folks who don't like tomatoes much will likely enjoy these. If you like onion rings, these will make you happy. The complementary rolls are really good and come with a sugar and cinnamon whipped butter (or other unique seasonal flavors depending on the time of year) which is delightful. This is a huge hit with the kids. The restaurant is utterly adorable, blending seamlessly with the mill, which is the historic part of the building. It's warm and cottage-feeling with wood floors and stone half-walls. During non-peak times it's pretty quiet (noise and music-wise) and when busy the sound is average, not usually startling, and full of family sounds and conversations (not a hipster place at all). This isn't the place for beer and other alcoholic drinks or anything very adventurous. There is a funny sign near the Village that reads, "Your mom loves this place!". That seriously describes this place to a T.

Yelp
Food was good, witches wandering providing fun atmosphere. Our waitress though was definitely on something. But shockingly our orders were correct.

Yelp
It was so great, everything. Good food, clean, such an exceptional server I can't even praise her enough. Thanks!

Yelp
I've only been to Archibald's like 3 times and I have enjoyed it every single time. Such a fun restaurant with delicious food and it's at Gardner Village which is so fun. My husband and I celebrated Valentine's this year at Archibald's. It was our first Valentine's married. We did their special Valentine's dinner for 2. It was so fun spending it there.

Yelp
We came in with a group of 9 people on a Friday night, and they were able to seat us fairly quickly. In fact, they actually opened the upstairs room to accommodate us all, which was great, because it was SO beautiful up there. I can't even begin to explain to you how great our experience was... food & service wise! We were given rolls with strawberry & chai butter (*drools*) while we looked over their menu, and it was divine! The rolls were freshly made and hot, and the butter that came with it was TDF! We also ordered their artichoke & spinach dip as an appetizer, and it was delicious! The dip was so creamy and tasty that I could have eaten it with a spoon, and it paired very nicely with the bread slices and tortilla chips. For my entree, I ordered their rib eye steak (medium rare) topped with herb and garlic butter and a loaded baked potato. Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm extremely picky with my steak... and honestly, that was probably the best steak that I've ever tasted! It was seasoned perfectly, cooked to perfection and was melt in your mouth tender. The potato was yummy, too:) My entire group also loved their food, which isn't a common occurrence for some of them. Now, as for our server, Marc was AMAZING! He was so professional, patient, attentive & understanding about everything! Seriously, that man deserves a raise -- immediately. Thank you for a wonderful experience... we will DEFINITELY be back!!

Yelp
After looking at reviews for Archibald's, I had put off trying it out for a long time. But, my mom wanted to come for her birthday, so that's what we did. And now I'm sad I didn't come sooner. I liked the rolls a lot, but wasn't a fan of the fruity butter. They were happy to bring me regular butter instead. We split the fried green tomatoes and avocados; we all enjoyed that. I had the country chicken pasta, which I liked quite a lot, and my boyfriend had the pot roast, which he enjoyed. My mom and grandma both liked their dishes as well. Our server was super nice and attentive, but not overly so. Everything was well-paced. The restaurant was clean, and the decor was cute. Nothing blew me away, but overall it was a really good experience, and I liked my food. I think I'd come back. Plus, if you have time to kill while you wait, the furniture place attached to Archibald's is super fun to wander around.

Yelp
Good place for some cooking like mom would cook. Good old fashioned cooking with little flair and country atmosphere. Service is good and you do leave with a full stomach. Not over the top but always consistent.

Yelp
I've been dining at Archibald's for over twenty years easy. We live 45 miles away, one way. Before I would have given it high marks. My Wife and I looked for reasons to go there. Not any more, I'm done. There is no chef, no one really cares anymore. The chicken was dry and overcooked. The rice was tasteless and not much of it. The dessert tasted like it came out of a box. We both left a lot of food on our plates when we left. We won't be back.

Yelp
The first time that I went to Archibald's was one time I was just at Gardner Village for their Halloween witch events and decorations. I looked up a close restaurant to eat and saw Archibald's. My family decided to try it and I am so glad we did! I got their fish and chips and they had complimentary rolls and butter. Because of the season, they had some pumpkin spice butter to go with the rolls and it was amazing. Whenever I go, I get the fish and chips every time because it is the best I think I have ever had. I would love to try other meals their because the food that I have had is so good!

Yelp
Really fun ambiance and environment given Archibalds is nestled in a historic mill and the original mill is at the top of the furniture store connected to the restaurant and super cool to see live. I love coming to Gardner for the shopping and cultural experience during the holidays so for that it's all worth checking out at least (warning it's insanely busy during holiday season especially October for Witch fest, Thanksgiving for the bakery and December for Christmas). I want to give Archibalds a higher food rating so bad because this place has such great potential to be phenomenal; however, out of the 5 times I've been every year to partake in my awesome buy one get one free dinner during your birthday month (awesome deal btw and everyone should sign up and partake) we've always just left feeling a bit unfulfilled due to food. The best part of the meal is always and only usually the baked goods. This pertains to either the rolls or the carrot cake which are both some of the best I've had. I actually go to Archibalds just to buy the carrot cake to-go and get extra frosting because I crave it and my husband thinks this place has the best rolls he's ever had. The service is awesome and the ambiance is fun. If the food was just better, this place would be a knockout of the park. The main courses i.e. prime rib and steaks are relatively bland in my opinion and I feel like you could get the same quality/taste at chuck-a-rama which isn't what I'm looking for in experiential dining, and though it's not a $50 steak, it is a $27-$29 steak in 2023 and I want it to be a little better than Chuck-a- Rama but I don't expect it to be a perfectly cooked filet mignon etc. I think the general menu items like the sandwiches, fish and chips or pastas are "okay", but they're not memorable. Would love to see this place up the food because it would really make it a hot spot staple location that would be a place we'd come to often instead of just a place we check out once a year for a birthday coupon deal in hopes that the food will be worth it to come back when we don't have a coupon. It unfortunately has gotten to a point where we're losing a bit of hope and may not partake in the coupon anymore simply due to the fact the food just isn't good enough to be worth it now but I'm not speaking for the baked goods because I'll still be here for the rolls and carrot cake.

Yelp
My ravioli literally tasted like my TV dinner ravioli I buy from the grocery store. My husband's chicken teriyaki obviously came from a big can. It would've been good, but it was way too strong due to all the salt and sweetness in the preservatives. It reminded me of a lunchroom cafeteria I had in high school way too over priced. The service was good.

Yelp
Archibalds is my "ladies who lunch "go-to. We had seafood salad ( too many olives --my bad , tho i should have noticed on the menu asked them to put olives on side or omit , however it was TO-GO ) The Cobb salad which my daughter had looked incredible . We will enjoy the leftovers tonight . Their rolls and housemade avocado dressing are extraordinary. The staff quickly filled my order while I briefly browsed at the adjacent home decor /furniture store. Gardner Village is a quaint getaway . Unique retail and merchandise .
