My partner and I spent the weekend camping on MDI and were craving some hot soup after a long day of hiking. We had stopped at two other local seafood shacks but they either did not have the soup we were looking for or were too busy. We stumbled upon Archie's as we were headed down the road and decided to check it out! Upon parking, the setup for the restaurant was rather unassuming. When we walked around to the front of the food truck, we were greeted by friendly employees and good music playing from the stereo. At the window, we ordered a bowl of clam chowder, bowl of lobster bisque, and two orders of fries. The whole order was under $25. We went and found a picnic table to sit at and watched the wildlife on the water while we waited for our food. The outdoor seating area is really nicely decorated and even has cornhole boards that you can play. About 10 minutes later, our order was brought out to our table and we were ready to enjoy! The fries were freshly cooked and the soups were both hot. I appreciated that all of the fixings (oyster crackers, ketchup, napkins, utensils, salt/pepper, etc.) were delivered to our table and that we did not have to go back up to ask for anything. The soups were TO DIE FOR!!! Honestly the best lobster bisque I have ever had. Our bellies were so full and happy after eating here. Great vibes and even better views! Don't miss this awesome family-operated spot!
Note: although Archie's is considered a "food truck," it is stationary and the restaurant has their own space with lots of outdoor seating and umbrellas.
