"Archimedes Banya is more than just a spa—it's really a cultural experience. You'll find massage rooms, a Finnish sauna, tri-level Russian sauna, warm-water hot tub, cold-water plunge, locker rooms, a hammam, a restaurant, and quiet rooms. Oh, and a rooftop deck with lounge chairs and views of the San Francisco skyline." - Elise Craig

Upon checking in at the front desk with government ID, they provided you a key to the locker. They allow a three-hour time limit per guest, which feels just right. The locker in dressing room provided with fresh towels, bathrobes, and flip flops. The facilities include a couple of dry sauna rooms, a steam sauna room, three pools with different temperatures, and a plunge pool. The second floor features a TV lounge with a spacious balcony offering a stunning bay view. The top floor offers a relaxing view and comfortable seating. Definitely a good spot to get some fresh air after some sauna and steam room experience. Clothing is optional here, which might initially feel uncomfortable for some, but I found people to be respectful, creating a comfortable environment. However, the place could use some remodeling to address rusty stains on the walls, improve ambiance and play more relaxing music. It seems they aim for a social sauna vibe instead of spa vibe, as sometimes conversations can get loud, particularly in the pool area. No hair dryer provided after showing. There were minor maintenance issues, like a small nail poking out in one of the dry saunas and finding some long hairs in the pool, but overall, it didn't detract significantly from the experience. I particularly enjoyed the aroma infusion sauna at 7pm daily, where they provide three rounds aroma such as eucalyptus, beer, and orange peels. Highly recommended, although be prepared for the room to get a bit stuffy and hot. Overall, my three-hour experience was incredibly relaxing, and I would definitely return. The basic entrance is $67 and they offer happy hour at $55 week day before 4pm. Parking by the street.

I was one of the first visitors to this bathhouse when it opened. we went there 1-2 times every two weeks with a group or family. we went there for 3 years, and I knew the Russian man who founded this bathhouse. There are about 13-15 people there of different nationalities. but then something happened and we were expelled. because we didn’t put towels on when we sat down in our shorts. and other people could simply sit naked. It was a shock for us. and we haven’t visited this bathhouse for many years now.

Came in on a Monday right at noon when they opened. You get a bracelet w locker number, two freshly laundered towels, a robe and flip-flops. The establishment is on three different floors but all the saunas and plunges are on the first floor, place is super clean and everyone was very respectful except maybe one or two older men that bluntly were staring at women, clothing is optional. By 1:30pm there were more people but not so crowded that you could not enjoy the establishment. Second floor has a small patio, TV room and a restaurant. The third floor is a larger area w lounge chairs and stunning views of San Francisco. The entire experience was wonderful and just so relaxing. Easy street parking

I loved it. If you like social banya or schvitz spaces, you'll probably be into this. It's not fancy, but the facilities and atmosphere are great. We got checked in up front, and handed over our IDs, and received a locker bracelet, and robe. Got a towel and sandals from the locker, and then entered the banya space to take a shower. We were greeted by Tony who explained the rules/facilities to us, as first-timers. For water immersion, there's 3 pools (cold, warm, HOT), as well as a cold plunge. For sweat, there's a smaller dry sauna, a big multi-level sauna, and a lovely scented steam room. We also spent time on the rooftop gazing out at the city view and the lovely sunset, and had a knish and kombucha in the cafe, which has a very relaxed hostel vibe. We also ran into Misha, one of the founders, who was so welcoming. Looking forward to coming back,

Absolutely my favorite banya thus far. Coed clothing optional. 3 dry saunas, 1 steam, 2 hot tubs, 1 cold plunge and more! Good vibes.

Please share this public service announcement with everyone who doesn't want to be touched near their private parts by a stranger: never let a man open a door for you. A white man in his 50s let his romantic partner in first and then me. Then he put his hand on the small of my back as I walked in and then reached lower. I met him seconds ago. He didn't need to touch me at all. All I can say as a trained energy worker is that karma is real. And that man will get his karma. In case you didn't get the memo, don't touch anyone anywhere without asking them first.

I came here with my partner and wow this was a fun place to go! We'd heard a lot about it from various folks. Good: - The variety of facilities is great, I enjoyed doing the steam room then a cold plunge then the hot spa and then back into the cold plunge - Friendly other people -you don't get bothered if you don't want to chat, but you can also chat with others - Nice towel and sandals available for free - Showers are really nice! Bad: - Decently expensive, for our trip it was about $240 a person including the deep tissue massage - Feels not as clean as some other places, and it gets packed so you might have to wait around Overall it was an enjoyable time and it was fun to go with my partner! We did the swimsuit option, but a lot of the men especially were clothing optional from my observation.

Not trans inclusive — and they aren't up front about it either! They assign you to a locker in the locker room corresponding to the marker on your drivers license. The alternative offered was to change in the basement which can feel really othering. Why should it matter which room we remove our clothing in or shower in if we are then entering a mixed gender, clothing optional space? The staff were curt, unkind, poorly informed and handled the situation embarrassingly poorly. We had even called ahead of arriving to understand their policies but they were ambiguous and contradictory. They could of at least been up front about their policy and saved us the drive. Definitely not a place that deserves my money. I'll be checking out Kabuki Springs or maybe even Good Hot.
