This place charges in a ridiculous exchange rate when paying in credit cards- The menu listed prices only in TSH. At payment, we were told that credit cards were accepted only in USD and had to be charged using an exchange rate that was highly unfavorable to customers, adding about 10% extra. There was no notice of this at the time of ordering or in any visible place.
We said we were willing to pay in USD using a fair market exchange rate, but the cashier and another older staff member did not speak English, kept rolling their eyes at us, refused to use the market rate, can only say “ATM ATM…” and followed us while attracting local people to provoke us. In the end, we exchanged money and paid in TSH cash instead.
I’m telling you this is not the way of doing business in rest of the world. We should not condone this behavior.
Food and waitress were very good.
