Theer are numerous Archontiko's in Makrinitsa, but this one seems to go above the normal, homely level.||From Volos you will pass the archontiko, but continue some 300 m to the parking and reverse. In that way you will be able to enter the small and narrow carpark (if not some 3 others have precede you).||The reception is very friendly by the lady of the owner. Depending of the room, you may have to climb a significant number of stairs, but that's life in Makrinitsa!||The hotel is wonderfully refurbished out of a compound of 3 or 4 ancient houses. If you are the first to take a shower, however, bide your time, but warm water will flow. Precaution: if you need a soft bed, this is not the place to go.||We had two rooms, both well equipped. The breakfast is lavish with a lot of local sweet and savory food. However, the fruits are limited to the season, in our case only (water)melon.||The village is a must, but already 'discovered' by many (Greek) tourists.
