Arco do Castelo

Arco do castelo is one of the main entering point to castle. The castle is not very beautiful but it has beautiful views and bit high hill so you can enjoy the beautiful view of the city. It's not very expensive as well, it's a must visit place in Lisbon. You can climb up on walls to have nice view.

Small but cozy place to have lunch or dinner close to the main door of Castelo de São Jorge. I would always recommend booking a table. The food is delicious! In the pintures below: honey-orange chicken and hot pot made of beef with potatos, rice and salad.

I ordered Sorpatel it was more like an Indian curry not satisfied. This place is like an Indian curry place rather than Portuguese cuisine. Although the waiter was polite and the service was quick it’s a cosy place. There’s a washroom and free WiFi.

This is a wonderful old gateway to the castle and view.

The arc signifies that the visitor is entering the territory belonging to the castle. If you come across this, then you're on the correct route to the castle.

This arch is the main public entrance to the famous St Jorge castle. At this point, if you are going inside to see the castle towers and museum, you can buy tickets. If not, you can still browse around the cobbled lanes inside the castle walls. We followed the lanes up a little higher and found the peacocks and stopped for to taste the ginja at a little café nearby where we could sit in the sun beside the castle wall.

Great View 8.5 Euro. For Entrance fee

Falls into the "tourist trap" category, but the food is good and if you pay attention to what other people said in their reviews you might have a good experience.
