What a lovely hotel! The front desk staff was so helpful and kind, so welcoming, simply lovely. My room was clean, roomy and comfortable. Dining room very nice and the hotel complimentary breakfast was delicious and filling (lots of lox, herring, potatoes in addition to the usual eggs/cereal). Cabs waiting outside often. And a great location, very walkable to many things. Definitely a ten plus!

Lovely hotel in city centre easy access to other places. Rooms compact, clean and restaurant excellent. Only negative is some rooms windows face directly on car park needs net curtain to block. Should warn customers prior to stay about view from those rooms as is a privacy issue and disappointing to keep curtains closed all the time for privacy. Good for those with allergies food clearly labelled.

We arrived early in the morning around 2 a.m., so we specifically chose a hotel with a 24-hour reception. The location was very convenient—right in the centre of town, yet not too noisy. The room was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a family of four. There was even a sauna in the room, though we didn’t have time to try it. The hotel also offers parking space. The staff were incredibly kind, and the buffet breakfast was high quality with a generous variety of options.

I had a fantastic stay at the Arctic City Hotel, a charming boutique property. The breakfast was excellent, offering a great variety to start the day. The on-site restaurant served amazing food, and the downstairs bar was outstanding, with a vibrant atmosphere and top-notch drinks. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, making the experience even better. I will definitely stay again!

The hotel is in an excellent location, very convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The facilities and dining provided by the hotel are very good. Although I only stayed for one night, I was still impressed, especially seeing the northern lights at night .

Great Stay at Arctic City Hotel – Convenient Location & Good Service: We had a pleasant two-night stay at Arctic City Hotel and would recommend it for travelers looking for a well-located and comfortable stay in Rovaniemi. Prime Location – Right in the Heart of Rovaniemi: The hotel is perfectly located in the town center, making it incredibly convenient. It’s within walking distance to shopping malls, cafés, restaurants, and supermarkets, so everything you need is easily accessible. Friendly Service & Smooth Check-In: The reception staff were welcoming and friendly, and the check-in process was smooth. One thing we really appreciated was that this hotel does not charge a deposit—they only take your credit card details for security, which was a nice and hassle-free approach. Cozy & Well-Equipped Room: The room isn’t very large, but it’s cozy and comfortable for two people. If you have large suitcases, space might be a little tight, but it’s still manageable. The basic in-room amenities were great, including a kettle, small refrigerator, and complimentary coffee and tea. The shower was a pleasant surprise—not only was it well-designed, but the hotel also provides Rituals-branded shower gel, which was a lovely touch! A Few Downsides: One thing that felt a little odd was the full wall of mirrors in the room, which can be a bit creepy, especially at night. Another issue was the glass panel between the bedroom and shower—it’s only covered with a ¾ mirror, meaning privacy isn’t great. Additionally, if you wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, the bright bathroom light shines through the uncovered glass panel, which can easily disturb the other person sleeping. Breakfast – Simple but with a Luxurious Perk The breakfast buffet offers a basic selection similar to other hotels, though the menu doesn’t change much from day to day. However, what really stood out was the complimentary champagne at breakfast—a generous and luxurious touch for those who enjoy a little indulgence in the morning! Final Thoughts Overall, Arctic City Hotel is a great choice if you’re looking for a well-located, comfortable, and well-managed hotel in Rovaniemi. The friendly service, cozy rooms, and convenient location make it a solid option, despite a few minor design quirks.

the pluses of this hotel: - good location in the city center - friendly staff at the reception and housekeeping - inhouse Restaurant Monte Rosa is very good for both breakfast and dinner - great staff the minuses of this hotel: - it does look old from the outside - needs some brush up and new paint for a 4* hotel - the rooms are very small and you cannot open the windows (just a very small one) - the bathroom was a disaster; very small room and very small shower, the sink was very old and had a crack, the shower box did not close off the water so the water leaks heavily onto the bathroom floor - everything gets wet. Unacceptable bathroom for a 4* hotel - Poor noise isolation from both outside and inside noises all this for approx. 350 Euros per night in February 2025 - far too much for this hotel in the current shape (the lobby is very nice).

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Arctic City Hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, the experience was flawless, thanks to the amazing team and the hotel’s thoughtful touches. A massive thank you to Gabriela, who went above and beyond to make our stay truly special, and to Nicky, who was equally fantastic. Gabriela’s efforts in organizing a private sauna session were a highlight of our trip—an unforgettable touch that made our celebration even more memorable. The hotel itself is simply perfect. From the hearty and delicious burgers served in the pub downstairs to the exquisite meals in the main restaurant, every dining experience was outstanding. My personal favorite, however, was the breakfast—the porridge and bacon were absolutely to die for! The location couldn’t be better. Situated right in the heart of Rovaniemi, the Arctic City Hotel provides the perfect base for exploring the city while offering a cozy retreat to return to after a day of adventure. This hotel has now officially become my favorite place to stay in Rovaniemi, and we’re already looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you again to Gabriela, Nicky, and the entire team for making our stay so unforgettable! Highly recommended.

Yelp
This hotel is a gem! My train arrived super early in the morning. I messaged the night before if it's possible to check in early. I received a message bright away letting me know if the rooms are available then it shouldn't be a problem. When I arrived I was greeted with a warm welcoming smile. Rooms are available so they let me check in! The room is very clean, super cute and cozy. The restaurant is awesome! They do have a lot of selection for breakfast items. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family visiting Rovaniemi!

Yelp
The restaurant was fantastic. Has an intimate setting yet can accommodate larger groups. The food is fantastic the pepper steak was done just to my liking and the fries were uniquely fluffy and crisp. The drink menu is very diverse and accommodating. As for the staff they're top notch and quite knowledgeable and very friendly. They take their time to explain what you're eating and drinking I'll definitely be returning here for more dining adventures.

Yelp
I found Arctic City hotel on Booking.com. It is centrally located in the town of Rovaniemi and approximately 5 minute walking distance to pretty much everything in town. The rooms are kind of small, nothing will fit more than 2 people. The beds weren't that comfortable. There are two restaurants inside the hotel, Monte Rosa and Bull Bar. Monte Rosa has traditional Lapish food, as well as steaks, burgers, etc. It is also where the included breakfast is served. Bull Bar has burgers and ribs. There is free Wi-Fi in the hotel and if you have a rental car, free parking as well. All the employees that I encountered in the hotel (which includes front desk staff, Monte Rosa staff, and Bull Bar staff) were super friendly. The front desk will even mail your stamped mail and call a taxi for you!

Yelp
Pub Bull downstairs the City Hotel. Descent place for starting the night out. Live Sports on screens, good draft beers (i.e ESB), occasional bands. The menu is quite simple. Had 12 Hot Wings (Buffalo Wings) accompanied with blue cheese dip and some greens. These are not the size of a Buffalo Wings you might have used to. A bit smaller so do not hesitate to order some extra. Hot sauce is...hot. The next night I had a cheese burger 7,5 EUR with fries 3,9 EUR. Though it took some 30min to produce one (due to some issues at the kitchen according to the bar tender), it was pretty good. And for the price and the mood, it was awesome. Good for evening dinner with friends - for families I would recommend the ground floor restaurant.
