We loved staying here. Fabulous service from the front desk. Made to feel right at home. After a big day of walking it was great to relax in the hot tub. The room was very cosy and the bed extremely comfortable. Dinner in the just opened restaurant downstairs was a treat.

A small country home style hotel. I enjoyed my stay there thanks to friendly staffs. The hotel has a small hot spring next to the reception. It is notable that the in-room shower is using hot spring water, which I liked.

No comment on the accommodation as we did not stay there. This is a description of the restaurant. Just the sort of place a story book would imagine on the north coast of Iceland - dark and cosy, comfortable and warming, hunkered down against the weather outside. Superb cooking, with a strong local feel. Comfort food, more elaborate stuff and good-for-you choices too. One of the top three meals on a long and memorable trip around Route 1 (or the Iceland ring). The best eating house in town by far and yes, of course, quite expensive - though worth it.

Excellent restaurant for dinner. Professional waiter from Belarus (smart young people aft this Tour along with their hopes & dreams). They serve Puffin on menu (see attached). We opted for Rudolph meatballs instead. Also hearty tomato Soup was delicious, paired with a good red wine.

We had a fantastic night in the Annex of the Hotel which has room for 3 persons. In the evening we tried out the hotel restaurant and was pleasant surprised by the high standard of the food and the cozy atmosphere. Can highly recommend to try this place out.

We were on the 2nd floor of the annex, which required carrying our luggage up steep steps. The room itself had a lovely front view of the water and was quite spacious with a sitting room. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, the tv and WiFi worked perfectly and there was an easy to use espresso machine in the room as well as a selection of teas. The bathroom was an odd layout, very narrow with the shower tucked in the corner and a step up to get into. Anyone not fit would have a hard time getting in I believe. We didn’t use the geothermal hot bath as it wasn’t hot enough for us, but the location is perfect as it’s just a quick walk from the room. We ate dinner in the basement restaurant and it was a lovely experience with a terrific meal. Breakfast was also very good, having the usual Icelandic assortment. As someone sensitive to smells, I was irritated by the overuse of air fresheners. The smell in reception made me sneeze, and the one right outside our room was so overpowering I had to relocate it. I began noticing them everywhere and realize they must be in use to mask something less pleasant. The strong scent was far too overwhelming for me though.

Visited during winter and check in is at 4pm. Don't come early as there isn't anyone around to allow access. Restaurant and toilet in hotel is well maintained and clean. They only served dinner during summer. This is a small town with not many food options so keep the expectation low. There's a well stocked supermarket just 5 minutes drive away. Hotel came with a hot bath which was a nice touch.

Such a lovely stay. Gorgeous rustic interior, taking you back in history. The rooms are cozy yet comfortably spacious. We ate at the restaurant with 4 people and had a two-course meal - it was the best we'd had during our week long trip. Fish and meat was cooked perfectly and the vegetables were delicious. Dessert (chocolate lava cake) was also perfect!! Service was also impeccable- very quick and server was kind and attentive. Couldn't recommend this place enough!
