I came here for a last minute trip and came in during the traveling court circuit. It was busy and the staff were constantly on the go. We were greeted by the hotel manager, who was also the hotel cook. I hope Inns North is paying this guy good money because he was excellent to deal with. His professionalism was on par to professional greeters at the large fancy southern hotels, and the food he cooked was amazing. They really hit two birds with one stone with that guy!
I put 3 starts not cause of the staff but because of the hotel. You are in the arctic, so it is what it is. The hotel was dated, the rooms were small, but comfortable. They use water and sewage trucks for delivery, so you need to run the taps to fill up the plumbing traps to stop the smell. The TV didn't work and because my room hadn't been occupied, the smell from the plumbing was strong and took a while to go away. Other then that, I had a good stay.
So if you ever make your way to Cambridge Bay and are looking for a place to stay, I would recommend this place. Hopefully the same hotel manager/cook is still there when you arrive.
