I can't not begin to say enough great things about this wonderful hotel! The location is wonderful, close to restaurants and bus stops. We were able to take the bus to Santa Claus Village for a minimal fee as the taxis were rather expensive to travel such a short distance. The airport shuttle stop was just across the street so it made transporting our luggage to and from RVN a breeze. The shuttle arrived an hour and a half before the next departing flight, they shuttle is supposedly in contact with the airport so it if is running late, it's good to know that youre flight will not leave without you on it! There were several different tour companies within a one block vicinity of the hotel, so it was very easy to book same day excursions. The staff was wonderful, from the bartender to the front desk. They made great recommendations for attractions as well as making last minute dinner reservations for my family!
The hotel is beautifully appointment, modern, yet cozy! The lobby area is inviting and made us feel welcome to sit by the fire and have a cocktail. Our room was comfortable enough for two adults and one child and the view overlooked the street- I didn't not like the constant illumination of the street lights as the curtains did not reach to the very end of the window, so light was always seeming in through the sides, but that is a minor complaint. The bathrooms had heated floors which was nice since it's cold during the wintertime. The waterfall shower head was by far provided the best shower I've never taken away from home, and quite frankly probably one of the best we've had.
Our son loved that there was a cute polar bear stuffed animal (€19) to greet us upon our entry, he names her 'Cutie' and ultimately came home with us.
The private sauna is a nice way to unwind from the brisk temperatures outside, but be sure to make your reservation as the times seem to book up fast, well they did when we were there.
The breakfast in the morning was divine, I loved the fresh and locally sources smoked salmon and cured meats and accompaniments. Also, omelet and boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, steamed broccoli and stewed mushrooms. There were also freshly squeezed juices and smoothies as well as baked desserts. You could dine in the hotel or pass through to the adjoining restaurant for a different atmosphere- Arctic Boulevard- which housed the same chic décor. It was certainly the highlight of our mornings.
If you are ever in the Lapland and need a hotel recommendation, I cannot endorse this hotel enough! It made a great home away from home!
