Ard Bakery

I tried the kanelsnegl and BMO and they were suuuuper good! The only thing I missed was chai latte 🫣 Updating: now tried cardamom bun and skyr as well

I tried the sourdough bun which was alright. Nothing special to write home about. I will say that the pastries in the glass case always looked so unique and cool. My friends both loved their pastries and coffees. Our drinks came out super quick as well. If I was passing by this neighborhood, I’d come here, although if it’s out of your way, it might not be worth it.

Myself working in the food biz and having personally being part of the whole BMO scene, I know how hard it is to deliver a consistently good product. Maybe only one bun out of the +30 buns I’ve had from Ard in the past year, have been just below near perfect. Says a lot. There’s plenty of bakeries in cph that specializes in BMOs, but very few make a bun consistently this good. Sesame seeds on both sides, airy crumb, well caramelized, thick pieces of cheese and descent amount of butter. The only thing I can critique is the butter, not sure if they season their own, but if they do, they could throw in a little for salt. Just my preference. Anyway, all in all the sesame bun is a 5/5. Shared Top 1 spot (in my opinion there’s only 2 good ones, no need to name the other one) Keep up the solid work Peace

This has got to be one of the very best bakeries we've got in Copenhagen. The croissant gets an A+ Perfectly buttery and soft on the inside and equally perfectly crunchy and flakey on the outside. A real gem! I'll be back

Lovely BMO & iced vanilla matcha latte

I can see many people takeaway from this bakery. Their pastries are not bad, but I don’t think it’s good enough to be a regular here. The dine-in experience was not great though. The table and chairs are slightly dirty, ground was wet, and inside was not warm enough to stay long.

ARD bakery is a hidden treasure in the outskirts of Copenhagen. After a run at the beautiful nearby Damhusengen lake, I happened to walk by and decided to stop for a post-run cappuccino and pastry. I asked the cashier for a recommendation, and she told me the Tebirkes is the most traditional, but the bakery is mostly known for its cinnamon rolls. I tried the latter, and it indeed might have been the best one I'd ever had. It was so good that I decided to go back to the cash desk and order a sourdough bread for lunch. I feasted on it for days, and will gladly be visiting again to try out more of their delicious baked goods! One suggestion: the cappuccino would have been even more tasty in a porcelain cup instead of a paper cup.
