The Ardawn House in Galway was, without a doubt, the best place we stayed during our ten-day trip through Ireland. While I was initially hesitant about the cost—as I found many accommodations and restaurants in Ireland to be pricier than I'm used to—the value we received was well worth it. From the very beginning, the communication with Van-Dennis was nothing short of delightful. His messages were charming, friendly, and incredibly helpful as we were planning our trip. The room itself was very comfortable, with a great bed and plenty of storage, and the bathroom was spotless. The staff was truly exemplary. Our host, Clara, was a 10/10—her warm welcome and attentive care helped create a fantastic experience. The breakfast was both delicious and plentiful, with the added bonus of self-service coffee and tea always available. A standout moment was being kindly allowed to use the laundry facilities. It made packing so much easier, and waiting for the laundry to finish was quite possibly the most fun I've ever had doing a chore in my 60+ years. I would happily stay at the Ardawn House anytime I am in Galway. It’s a wonderful example of a place where exceptional hospitality and a personal touch far outweigh any initial concerns about price.

My friend and I stayed here for 9 days and loved it. We arrived early and were offered coffee by the manager Van Dennis. He saw that our room was prepared ASAP and also served us breakfast while we waited. Our room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The water pressure wasn’t great but that’s the only negative I can say about our stay. The choices for breakfast were wonderful and the server Valentina was friendly and provided great service. It’s an easy 5-10 minute walk to Eyre Square and the city center. Our room faced the street but I didn’t find it to be too noisy. There is some traffic noise but it lessened a lot after 9 pm. They provided earplugs just in case you want them. The staff could not be more welcoming and professional. I highly recommend this B&B.

We stayed at that place recently and it was a very bad experience. First the parking is extremely tight and the space barely fits a sedan. The room was much smaller than depicted in the picture and there was noise the whole night and smell of exhaust in the room. The beds were uncomfortable. To make it even worse they don’t have the room for all booked guests to have breakfast which is included in the deal so they asked us to wait, and almost one hour later i had to go complain to the staff who didn’t attempt to do anything about it. Basically they didn’t care. Until i had to go speak to someone who was the manager and no one knew this, they added a table for us while other people Were still also waiting. We almost missed our flight from Shannon because of this. I wouldn’t recommend this place whatsoever. Next time we travel here we’re staying away from this place. Too expensive, uncomfortable and no consideration for the guests.

The location is great, very close to downtown Galway. Everyone is nice and friendly! Definitely will stay again if we come back to Galway!!

This is such a nice B&B in Galway. The rooms are beautiful, and the chocolates on the bed are a nice touch. The rooms are up a flight or two of stairs (which might be an issue for some very mobility challenged), but the hosts will help you with your bags. The breakfast was wonderful (I've attached a picture), and you can choose from a wide variety of delicious dishes. Our host, Dennis (Cavallo) was very friendly and was very happy to share his experiences living in Galway (his colleague, whose name I unfortunately I don't remember, was also very friendly and greeted us on arrived when we arrived quite late from Belfast). Parking is in the front of the accommodation (I've attached a picture) Highly recommended,

Great experience. Room was very nice! The only down side was a super small shower. The breakfast was delicious!!! Great manager as well. Located close enough to the city to walk. Parking available

The room & bathroom were spotless, & as promised in the listing, it was easy to do a load of laundry in the laundry room off the kitchen. As for the kitchen, this B & B not only has a friendly & efficient manager, but an actual chef who makes each guest's breakfast to order from a small yet well-chosen menu. The omelettes & fresh breads with butter & preserves were delicious, and the manager serves speciality coffees as guests sit down at tables in the attractive breakfast room. It's an easy 12-15 minute walk uphill from the Irish Rail station or bus station. Our room faced east toward College Road but was very quiet at night & caught first light in the morning. It's a very pleasant, welcoming, & well-managed guesthouse.

The house is just a ten minute walk from the city centre. We received a fabulous welcome on arrival and were shown straight to our room even though we arrived before check in time. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The welcome, facilities and level of service would not be out of place in a five star hotel. Wonderful!

Yelp
Enjoy Galway but bypass this B&B. The exterior of the place looks charming but don't get taken like we did. After checking in the host was more concerned about her personal activities than her guest. We had to make ourselves familiar with the B&B and even show ourselves to our room. Once in the room we were very disappointed but we were left on our own. There were no available electrical outlets if you needed one, the heater didn't work, and talk about the mismatched bathroom towels. Good luck in taking a shower if you could find enough water pressure and watch out you don't get burnt or frozen by the faulty controls. Made our trip to town, very close, and had a great time. Returned to our room that evening with no one else around but another couple who had checked in after us. Had a very restless sleep from the traffic noise coming from the main road fronting the complex all night long emitting throught the thin walls of the building. An exterior light coming from dog race track nextdoor didn't help either. When the host was informed the next morning about our situation she made it sound like is was our fault we didn't tell her we were light sleepers. She also related she had never had this complaint before but she was wrong. The wife of the other couple who also stayed that night told me of her having the same problem and internet reviews also mentioned this and other problems. This ruin our whole day as we were too tired to enjoy the rest of the city or sites. Decided to leave instead of spending our second night even though the host offered to relocate us to a room in the back. She also said she would not refund our second night charge if she couldn't find someone else to rent our room. Chose to spend the day driving to our next location and rest at our next stop. This way we could be refreshed to enjoyed the following day. I should have checked the on-line reviews about this place instead of solely believing the suggestions from those travel books. BOY, did they get this one wrong! Save your money, frustrations and enjoy yourself by passing this B&B and going elsewhere. There are many around this area. This place is overpriced for what they offer and don't have. And guess what, we found another place for half the price and offered a lot more with staff who were on the property and were available.
