Ardbeg House

We had an amazing stay at Ardbeg House. Moira was amazing before arrival helping sort out a bottle of whisky for my husbands birthday, and very friendly when at the hotel. Shannon was really friendly and even allowed us to see other rooms that didn't have guests in them! Ellie serving us in the restaurant was lovely, welcoming and had great knowledge of the whisky's sold. Alastair, who did our tasting and manned to bar, was very knowledgeable again, friendly and considerate. All the staff were really nice. We loved our stay, with a highlight being searching for the complimentary Ardbeg 10 in the room! Would definitely go back.

Incredible stay (Monster Room) + meals at Ardbeg House. The rooms have un-paralled attention to detail, every single piece clearly chosen with care and completely unique. The oddness enhances how cozy the rooms feel, and the furniture is very high-quality (read: the bed and couch are super comfy)! I had breakfast once and dinner twice at the restaurant, and dinner in particular was some of the best dishes I've had in 2025. The venison sirloin was perfectly tender, the carrot and potato cakes were well cooked and nicely spiced, and the local crab and seasonal berries were beautifully fresh and bright. My travel plans got disrupted, and the staff were so kind and helpful in navigating bag storage and unexpected meal timing. I can't wait to go back!

Been aiming to visit the Ardbeg Distillery for a while now and decided to combine it with a stay at the hotel when we found out it was opening. Our first booking had to be cancelled due to a storm causing ferry cancellations and the staff at the hotel made rebooking an easy process. ||When we finally made it to the hotel Moira, the duty manager on the day, was wonderful in ensuring that everything we needed for our stay was in place. She made sure we were accommodated for our distillery visit on the Monday where we enjoyed a fantastic cask tasting session included as part of our hotel stay and also went out of her way after our arrival on the Sunday to accomodate a dining requirement for one of our party ahead of our evening meal. ||The hotel itself is a fun and fabulous place to spend a night. The designs and detail in every area are incredible and it has a feel of real luxury. We had the creation and invention rooms for our group and the level of comfort and amenities are exceptional. ||The food in the restaurant was delicious and the whisky range in the bar is as good as it gets for any Ardbeg fan with and very reasonably priced as well. The bar staff are knowledgeable and great guides when choosing your whisky experience.||All the staff are friendly, helpful and focused on ensuring you have the best stay possible. Our stay at the hotel lived up to all our expectations and I’d love to stay again and for longer in the future.

A wonderful stay in a really superbly refurbished hotel decorated to the highest standards I have ever seen. A grotto of dreams given a physical manifestation, thanks to Sage studios design. If you love art nouveau, arts and crafts with a modern Scottish artisan burst of imagination, this is the place for you. The staff, mainly young, are wonderfully friendly and eager to please. I could have taken 100 or more photographs but have tried hard to limit myself. Pet friendly as well. A choice of the bar ( dogs allowed) or twin dining areas for dinner or breakfast. A starter of scallops were the best I’ve ever tasted. The breakfast has incredibly generous portions and cheffy inspired choices. The yogurts either your choice of accompaniment again the best I’ve tasted. What a choice of whiskies in the bar and the prices incredibly low ( so as not to exclude the locals we learn- a brilliant decision) Piles of goodies in the room. Don’t change anything please and we may make this an annual holiday.

When booking our two night stay we looked forward to a unique, luxury boutique experience on Islay. The hotel with it's design based around all things Ardbegian did not disappoint and had amazingly themed rooms with hallways which beckoned you to sit for a spell and absorb the atmosphere. This hotel is a true delight. The lack of a TV in the room was a little off putting at first but once we set foot in the bar- who needs a TV? The bar is incredibly well designed with a selection of whiskies that is immense but what made the hotel stay and our trip was the staff. Everyone was so helpful and friendly and did everything possible to make for a truly enjoyable stay. Front of house staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Seb and Alisdair in the bar really looked after us. We enjoyed our chats and love of Ardbeg and whisky in general over many drams. We had the complimentary Ardbeg tasting at the hotel led by Alisdair who delivered a truly exceptional view on the evolution of a few Ardbeg drams. We are already looking forward to our return to Ardbeg House one day.

We managed to snag a last-minute reservation for two at Ardbeg House in Islay, and it was an unforgettable evening. The setting is warm and welcoming, with a vibrant atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The bar is truly exceptional—second to none on the island—and set the tone perfectly for our dinner. The service throughout was excellent: attentive, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic. Each course was phenomenal, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. While you can tell they’re still working through some of the natural new-opening details, the experience was seamless and thoroughly enjoyable. We finished with dessert, which was every bit as impressive as the rest of the meal—a perfect way to end the night. Ardbeg House is already a must-visit on Islay, and I can’t wait to come back.

One of the most unique stays I've ever had! Wish we could have stayed longer. would love to experience what all the different themed rooms are like. The front desk was extremely helpful with organising the distillery tour for us and even lent me an Ardbeg jacket for the inclement weather without a fuss. Would love to come again in the summer.

Ardbeg house is a stunning example of Scottish hospitality at its best. Having visited the old hotel on many occasions before it became Ardbeg House it is hard to believe the transformation. The interior design is outstanding with every space themed around Ardbeg single malt whisky and the distillery itself. Staying in the Creation and Feis rooms the attention to detail and quality of the fittings, furnishings and in room amenities is wonderful. |No trip to Islay would be complete without sampling the single malts and the selection of Ardbeg malts at the bar of Ardbeg House has to be up there with the best if not the best whilst the pricing is extremely competitive especially when considering the choice of limited editions.|Having enjoyed breakfast, bar lunch and dinner at the hotel the food is competitively priced, good portions and of excellent quality, ||Pivotal to great hospitality are the staff and a review of Ardbeg House wouldn’t be complete without praising Moira and Elle who dealt with us most during our stay, both were superstars and are excellent ambassadors for Ardbeg House, Ardbeg and LVMH
