We stayed at this hotel from Monday 30th September until Friday 4th October 2024. Firstly, may we say Elaine was an excellent hostess. As we had travelled from London we arrived after the usual check in window but Elaine waited until we arrived and told us which room we were allocated. The room was clean and very comfortable with good facilities in the room. ||As we have stayed at this hotel before, we knew most things were within easy walking distance of the hotel i.e. bus station, train station and shops. ||Breakfast: The facilities were excellent and there was plenty of choice. We would certainly recommend this hotel and will hopefully return in the not too distant future.

Elaine was very helpful. We opted for the full Scottish breakfast which hit the spot. The bed was comfortable. It is an older building with a few quirks and a small en suite. The location is very walkable to downtown and the train albeit there are some steps involved.

I stayed here for 2 nights for work and it was perfectly adequate for my needs. The room was clean, bright had a kettle with tea and coffee available. There is a lounge to sit in, if you need a bit more space. I left before breakfast was served, but could have grabbed a continental breakfast had I wanted. The hosts are very warm and friendly, the location is just a few minutes walk from the high st via some hefty steps and I’ve booked to go back. See view from room.

Ardconnel House was a great place to stay during my visit to Inverness. The location is ideal - within walking distance to the city centre. The room was immaculate and comfortable and the breakfast was nice. I highly recommend!

If you come to Inverness for some peace and quiet, this is definitely the place for you. Elaine is so helpful and so kind to help me with my big luggage. Even though I was not able to get breakfast because of the early departure of my day trips, I got fruit and toast to go in the morning. My single room 5 is more spacious than it looks on the photo. The bathroom is very clean. I had plenty of deep sleep every night. Yes, the place takes a wee bit of walk up the slope with the luggage and all, but it is all worth it!

A lovely welcome by the helpful host, our room was small but comfortable and the shower was good. Breakfast service was a little slow but was a very tasty cooked breakfast - which we would recommend for the extra price, the continental looked a little meagre. Great location within a short walking distance of the river and centre of town (steps).

Lovely stay, friendly and welcoming host. Great location to town. Parking outside accommodation. Would highly recommend. Inverness a great place to visit for shops, bars, restaurants and scenery. Elaine gave us some ideas of places to go, particularly the Castle Tavern, lovely pub with food.

Nice little house in a quiet street, close to the city center, bus and train station (only a few minutes to walk).|Lovingly furnished rooms, small and cozy, comfortable beds, everything very clean. |Decent and sufficient breakfast buffet. |Very friendly landlady. |This was our second time as guests and we felt at home again.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here. The owner, Graham, is super nice and informative. The house is located very close to the town center with plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants. The room itself was not that big, but it was spacious enough. We were in the top floor, so there was a neat little garret window that you could kind of sit in and read a book or just enjoy the view. The bathroom was surprisingly large with plenty of room to place all your toiletries a the shower was watertight and had more than sufficient water pressure and temperature range (which were both adjustable). Breakfast was prompt with Graham cooking and serving the the dining room downstairs, and the food was quite nice. I even got to try haggis while I was here with the full Scottish breakfast that was served.

Yelp
I recently stayed here on Valentines Day and had an amazing time. The owners John and Liz are a pleasure to deal with and give great advice on what to see and do in the area. The B&B is very comfortable and clean with a very home like feel to it. The rooms may feel a little small by American standards but I was very happy with them. Breakfast is included in the price and it is amazing. There is a wide variety of homemade dishes available. Along with fresh fruits and breads. Defiantly recommend staying here for a pleasant time.

Yelp
A very cozy , sweet B&B in the crown neighborhood of Inverness just a few (steep) steps from the city centre. John & Elizabeth run it and are simply wonderful hosts.Unfortunately I've just heard they may be retiring and moving out of the area soon

Yelp
I was in Inverness for two nights on my way from landing in Manchester to Durness on the north coast of Scotland, to acclimatize myself to the time change and see more of an area I had only briefly visited once before. I'm thankful that I found Ardconnel House (thanks, TripAdvisor!). It was a most pleasant visit, and John and Elizabeth are wonderful hosts. The building is charming, very easy to find from the train station, and they did a nice job of setting it up as a B&B. The dining area is spacious and comfortable, and as a vegetarian I had plenty of good choices from the sidebar and menu of cooked options. The lounge on the second floor is a nice bonus, with lots of Scotland books and magazines available, a large screen TV, and comfy chairs. Although my single room was quite small, it was comfortable and lacked nothing. I certainly wasn't cramped in any way, although getting to the closet was slightly awkward. (But maybe I just packed too much stuff for this trip!) I can't say enough good about John and Elizabeth. Very gracious and extremely helpful, including some perfect restaurant suggestions from my two dinners while there. Even John's suggestions of a route for a nice long run one day was perfect, and I thoroughly enjoyed running along the Ness River and canal. (If only he could have done something about the stiff headwind on the return!) I have only two VERY minor issues. One was that the shower in my single room was a bit small, although since it is the corner type with doors that close in the corner it wasn't too bad, and overall the ensuite bath was adequately spacious. The other is that to get to the downtown area requires navigating several flights of stairs coming and going (or a long walk 'round on roads). Like I said, these are minor things at worst, but might be worth considering for some people. Overall, I'm really happy to have chosen Ardconnel, and would stay there again for sure.

Yelp
Stayed here a few months ago and it was lovely! I only chose this B&B because the Guardian featured it so i figured it must be good! It was lovely and its rated a 4* B&B in fact which is deserved because the staff are lovely, the hotel itself its cute and quaint but quite small, only six bedrooms. The location is useful very close to the shopping centre, the railway and the bus station. I visited Loch Ness and it was close by from the hotel so made sightseeing easier. Another perk- the whole B&B is non smoking. I hate the stink on bedding in smoking rooms in hotels so i preferred this. Great place to stay
