We had a really nice stay here! The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. I was slightly worried when I read some of the reviews before we arrived. However I have to disagree with most comments. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel then of course you will be let down. However it did meet our expectations from what we saw advertised. I also think the price was very fair compared to other places in the area. There also seems to be confusion around the breakfast. This place does not provide breakfast. However they do offer some complementary boxes of cereal (coco pops, rices, cornflakes). We were not expecting a breakfast with our stay so we thought it was a nice touch from the owners.

Lovely house on the outside and nicely decorated on the inside but the rooms are terrible. My bathroom had a damp smell constantly then, I realised why. There's no covers on the sink or shower drain. When you take a shower, the tray fills up with water. Like many guest houses now, there's no warm welcome, no breakfast (which I knew) but, the traditional warm welcome from the owner or manager is gone in these guest houses around Ireland. To be honest, I'd try another guest house or hotel in the area.

Reception staff were lovely .. Irene & sorry don't remember other person's name, but you were both cheerful & professional.|Comfortable rooms, all the usual, en-suite, TV, desk etc.||But what makes this place so good, is the self catering room.|Air fryer, microwave and fridge / freezer, means you can prepare a simple meal.|And the best part .... there is a 'magic fairy' who takes care of all your dirty dishes !!!

Stayed in a Deluxe self catering bungalow, nothing deluxe about it. Very small & over priced. No privacy from other guests staying in the main house unless you wanted to keep all curtains shut. Kitchen area had travel kettle, microwave & fridge, no oven or hob so not self catering. No windows to open apart from small window in bathroom. Toilet seat broken, sofa bed broken. Bathroom door has glass panels so light came in straight on the bed where rest of the place was darken by the curtains. Shower cubicle wasn’t cleaned properly. We didn’t have breakfast here in the main place as just wanted to get out of the place. Garden area was very nice & kept neat thanks to a robot mower, keep this in mind at night if your out in garden area.

Service the welcome was very lacking. No food at this hotel. Hotel was very stuffy and needed a deep cleaning. Carpets filthy and stained. NO ELEVATOR so you need to roll your bags up and down stairs. No help offered. |Room was hot and NO AC. Had to open the window and even then too hot plus Jurassic Park sized mosquitos flew in.|Bed was very hard and no fitted sheets so they came up every time I rolled over. I literally felt the springs in my hips!!

We had a horrible experience I had at the Ardilaun Guest House in Ennis. Firstly, it was advertised as self-catering and it is not: they have a small dining room with a fridge and a coffee machine and no self-catering facilities in the rooms. When we checked in I complained about the room as it was dirty and shabby - no plug in the sink, rust on radiators, marks on the walls, broken toilet seat. We were refused an alternative room as they claimed they were full. I told them that I wanted my money back for the 2 other nights we had booked to stay as the room was not up to standard and was not in any way self-catering. They agreed verbally and in 2 separate emails that I would get a refund. They never gave me my money back. To cap it all, when we drew the curtains in the morning, the curtain pole came off and hit me hard on the head. When I complained about this, I was told I was a liar and that it had never happened. I have photographic evidence of the lack of fixing on the curtain pole and the filthy, shabby room we stayed in.

My partner and I stayed here last week for 1 night on a road trip. Ardilaun guesthouse is an okay accommodation. When we checked in, they said we had booked a double room for 1 person and that for 2 it would be an extra €9. This seems a little bit scammy, so bare this in mind when booking. The rooms are spacious, the view out of our window to the garden and river was lovely, however the main front door slams loudly. This woke my partner multiple times during the night. The inter room insulation should be improved as we were able to hear the room next door using the bathroom. The location is okay for Ennis, it’s about a 30 minute walk so be aware of that. However, in the morning my partner and I wanted to have a shower, which turned out to only run cold. We kept trying it repeatedly whilst packing for 45 minutes and still nothing. This was incredibly irritating and not at all what we needed to start our day. I went to speak with the lady running the place and she said that lots of people had checked out and used all the hot water and we should wait 20 minutes. We were on a time limit and had to leave. I asked for some form of refund and she said she is unable to offer anything. She said to email the owner, which I did, and still haven’t had a response (5 days later when writing this). I hold out no hope as an email I sent in March is still unanswered. Consider all of these things before booking, it is a nice place but the service isn’t great.

We stayed in the bungalow for a few nights. Super cozy and quiet. With a river view. Had a great time. Bit weird that the kitchen was only a microwave. There was no tea towel available so we had to dry the dishes with a bathroom towel. In the kitchen and bathroom sink was no warm water. And the pillows on the bed were yellow with bloodstains if you removed the cover. Besides that.. The rain shower was perfect! The view stunning!
