This morning we ate at this place and it was really lovely. The waiter was polite, nice and helpful. We felt welcomed since we stepped in and were instantly helped. We tried to do the West highland way for the second time but unfortunately we couldn't go on... but after walking so much, having painful feet, cold and hungry we were happy to stop at this place. Prices were good and you pay for what you get. The chef did an incredible jon because the food tasted really nice and fresh. It was warm and cozy. *I visited Scotland for the first time 2 years ago and fell in love with this country. People here are humble and willing to help whenever we needed it, the views are beautiful and I can breathe some fresh air. The only sad part is going back to my country and dreaming about the next time I will be able to go back. Thanks to everyone for our lovely experience!❤️

Wow. Quite a feverish experience to spend two nights in the Ardlui Hotel pods, from start to end. ||The place is giving… Schitt’s Creek episode? In good and bad ways. ||We arrived by train on a tranquil Friday afternoon in the secluded community of Ardlui - there’s nothing there for miles and miles. ||First impressions were great with a stunning view of the Loch. Checking in was an interesting quest - the process took 40 minutes of waiting because the warden was on a break. Also we didn’t realise you had to press a bell to gain his attention. ||As we were waiting a member of staff came over and pinned a sign to the community board warning campers to boil water prior to drinking…. Odd? Problematic? Ecoli you might think? But no… just outdated water filters that were meant to be changed the week after. |You might have expected free bottled water for guests at this point. But you would have been wrong. The camping pod was nice, warm and unproblematic though. ||Moving on to some higlights we have Alex the barman/waiter who was just vibes. And the most professional by far. Great oufit mate! ||Skipping through images of our weekend we have some mouldy bread at the breakfast counter, questionably cleaned toilets and a surprisingly good mac and cheese. Great tunes playing at dinner too. Wonder if Alex made the playlist? ||Final thoughts - if you want an isolating, reality-shifting weekend, this place is for you. We shan’t be back!

Liked: NOTHING - Disliked: EVERYTHING - The only thing this camp has going for it is the view. But there are plenty of other campsites in the area which pretty much have the same view. I'm sure if the 'season' owners were able to change the view to stop the tourers staying they would. The shower areas were totally flooded the entire time with muddy water because the facilities were not cleaned at all. The showers only had one tiny hook to put your clothes and no shelf. The pitches were no more than a car park covered in cigarette ends, litter and dog poo!!!! The 'season' pitch owners do not want the tourers there and make it perfectly obvious to you. We tried to have a bbq but their dogs seemed to think that it was ok to come around sniffing with no recall from the owners. They were intimidating and rude. The loud music and heavy drinking from their area started early and there was no point in asking them to tone it down as apparently 'they live there and the rules don't apply to them'!!!! I had read similar reviews but though 'surely it can't be that bad' but it was worse!!! We left at 10pm (didn't even stay one night) because of the unwelcome and intimidation that we felt.

Stopped over here on our hike on the West Highland Way. A mixed experience. |The welcome we received was atrocious. It had been raining, and along with an American lady whom we met on the ferry across we were looking forward to getting dried off. We got to reception and after we'd waited about 10 minutes, a chap appeared briefly to say 'someone will be with you to check you in in 10 minutes', then disappeared. After a further 10 minutes I ventured into the staff area behind the reception desk, and explained to a couple of people that we were waiting to check in, and that we'd been waiting 20 minutes. They said 'well we're very busy at the moment, someone will be out shortly. 5 minutes later a friendly enough chap arrived, but it was a terrible welcome overall. |The room was comfortable enough EXCEPT not that clean, and the shower was very poor - just a trickle of water really. |The food was quite nice and the restaurant staff at dinner were friendly and helpful. |But the service at breakfast, I'm afraid, displayed more of the attitude that the hotel's guests were an inconvenience to the smooth running of the hotel. Breakfast doesn't start till 8 and the first ferry is at 9, so it didn't leave much time as we had a 14 mile walk ahead of us - we waited at the breakfast room door but there was noone there so we went to sit down, whereupon the only lady serving shouted across to us, pointing her finger, that we should wait to be seated. No hot food on the buffet, you had to order from this person, and our (hard) poached eggs arrived at 8.35 so it was all a bit of a rush. |Not at all the usual sort of Highland hospitality. Will not return.

Walking the West Highland Way. My room was clean, service was friendly and although room was small it worked well. Restaurant was excellent. Both my wife and I had the venison. Drinks were good. Prices were in line with what we paid along with hike. Would definitely return. As one reviewer said this was an old style hotel but well worth the stay.

We booked a room for one night via Booking. Com, there was only one room available and it cost £181.50 B&B, we did get warned via emails that our room was over a bar however we didn’t realise that there would be music and singing until 1am in the morning. We literally had very little sleep as when the noise stopped we couldn't get comfortable as the bed was very poor. I have read some really good reviews and the staff were friendly but would avoid Room 18 at all costs.

Accommodation was clean, comfortable with a georgous view of Loch Lomond. We caught the boat from the West Highland Way to the accommodation, what a treat to view Loch Lomond at the end of a day of hiking. Dinner at the resturant was delicious and easy. Wait staff were wonderful and helpful.

Liked: Absolutely amazing place for a campsite. Bonus for us was the weather. Camp right next to water which was great for our canoe and paddleboard. Very peaceful campsite, no issues. Disliked: Only negative issue is that on their website it states small shop. On arrival were told they hadn't had a shop onside for 5 years. Closest shop is in Crianlarich, so make sure you pack everything you need.

Yelp
Ardlui Hotel was part of our West Highland Way Hike where we have to take the ferry to the other side. Our room was to the street side, therefore a little bit loud but in general nice. Dinner and Breakfast were fine.
