We ended up staying at the Adlui Hotel after having spent two days in a blackout in the Scottish Highlands as a result of Storm Amy while hiking the West Highland Way. After two days of hiking in the rain without benefit of a shower, to say the least we didn’t look our best when we arrived. But the warm greeting we got at the front desk and the beautiful room that we were shown improved our spirits greatly. Our room was very spacious and looked out over Loch Lomond. The bathroom was large and had a delightful shower. We ended up eating two dinners and two breakfasts in the hotel restaurant. We tried the Cullen Skink (basically haddock chowder) which was hearty and tasty, and then we both enjoyed our Steak Pie and Beer-Battered Haddock entrees. We topped these off with scoops of chocolate and honeycomb ice cream. The breakfast included a buffet with cereals, yogurts, fruit and pastries; and, also a cooked breakfast. One of us had the full Scottish breakfast and the other got a special order of bacon and tomato. Overall, our accommodations were lovely, the staff extremely friendly and willing to overlook how we must have looked when we arrived, and the food for all of our meals was fantastic. The views of Loch Lomond make this a special place in general, but the hotel goes to great lengths to make a stay there a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

This morning, we dined at this establishment and found it truly delightful. The waiter was polite, courteous, and attentive. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and promptly assisted. We had intended to complete the West Highland Way for the second time, but unfortunately were unable to continue. After much walking, sore feet, cold, and hunger, we were grateful to find this cozy refuge. The prices were reasonable and reflected the quality of what was offered. The chef did an exceptional job, as the food was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I first visited Scotland two years ago and instantly fell in love with the country. The people are humble and always willing to help when needed, the scenery is breathtaking, and the fresh air is rejuvenating. The only sad part is returning home and dreaming of my next visit. Thanks to everyone for making our experience so memorable! ❤️

Liked: I recently stayed in a camping pod at Ardlui Holiday Home Park in Loch Lomond and absolutely loved the experience! The location is stunning – right on the loch with beautiful surroundings, making it the perfect peaceful getaway. The pod itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. What really stood out, though, was the manager – incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my visit. They made me feel right at home and added such a personal touch to the whole experience. I can’t recommend Ardlui Holiday Home Park enough – great location, immaculate facilities, and exceptional hospitality. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

This morning we ate at this place and it was really lovely. The waiter was polite, nice and helpful. We felt welcomed since we stepped in and were instantly helped. We tried to do the West highland way for the second time but unfortunately we couldn't go on... but after walking so much, having painful feet, cold and hungry we were happy to stop at this place. Prices were good and you pay for what you get. The chef did an incredible jon because the food tasted really nice and fresh. It was warm and cozy. *I visited Scotland for the first time 2 years ago and fell in love with this country. People here are humble and willing to help whenever we needed it, the views are beautiful and I can breathe some fresh air. The only sad part is going back to my country and dreaming about the next time I will be able to go back. Thanks to everyone for our lovely experience!❤️

Liked: Everything!! Absolutely beautiful!!! We stayed here 2 nights and had a wonderful time, scenery is epic, we were loch side.pitch was good size, very quiet, shower block clean and tidy. Pub attached to restaurant was lovely and very welcoming. The watersports equipment hire that was available was a surprise and a highlight to our holiday!! Highly recommend and definitely will be returning!! Advise; be prepared for morning and late evening midges if water side…. - we were so was not an issue Disliked: No faults!!! Although complaints from teenager due to WiFi connection being poor (full WiFi found in the pub so not really an issue)

Liked: Location was perfect for a hike up to Bridge of Orchy and train back. Great spaces with views Southbound over Loch Lomond. Handy for a cheeky pint in the Lomond bar too 🤙. Good facilities for dumping and ditching gash. Disliked: We felt that the toilet block needed a deep clean, actually any kind of clean.

Stayed here whilst walking The West Highland Way .Lovely quaint hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. The bar was very relaxing after a long day and the breakfast the next morning set me up for a great day on the trail. Great staff. Loved the ferry ride across the Loch.

We had cycled a short distance from The Drovers Inn to pop in for a coffee while we waited for a train. There are two signs outside that clearly state “Open all day”. We arrived at 11:05 and all the tables had their lamps lit, but all doors were locked. Another family arrived shortly after us and they had been told via phone that it would be open by 11:00, as someone said to them they were lighting the fire. I walked around the whole building and heard and saw someone inside, and the family’s daughter knocked on the door. Someone was in the bar area, saw us outside and then after about 10 minutes, opened a door and said they didn’t open til 12:00. We asked about the signs saying “Open all day”. He said, “Not my problem”. We told the family not to waste their time at Ardlui Hotel and directed them to The Drovers Inn, where we will return, and not come back here!

Yelp
Ardlui Hotel was part of our West Highland Way Hike where we have to take the ferry to the other side. Our room was to the street side, therefore a little bit loud but in general nice. Dinner and Breakfast were fine.
