This morning, we dined at this establishment and found it truly delightful. The waiter was polite, courteous, and attentive. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and promptly assisted. We had intended to complete the West Highland Way for the second time, but unfortunately were unable to continue. After much walking, sore feet, cold, and hunger, we were grateful to find this cozy refuge. The prices were reasonable and reflected the quality of what was offered. The chef did an exceptional job, as the food was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I first visited Scotland two years ago and instantly fell in love with the country. The people are humble and always willing to help when needed, the scenery is breathtaking, and the fresh air is rejuvenating. The only sad part is returning home and dreaming of my next visit. Thanks to everyone for making our experience so memorable! ❤️

We ended up staying at the Adlui Hotel after having spent two days in a blackout in the Scottish Highlands as a result of Storm Amy while hiking the West Highland Way. After two days of hiking in the rain without benefit of a shower, to say the least we didn’t look our best when we arrived. But the warm greeting we got at the front desk and the beautiful room that we were shown improved our spirits greatly. Our room was very spacious and looked out over Loch Lomond. The bathroom was large and had a delightful shower. We ended up eating two dinners and two breakfasts in the hotel restaurant. We tried the Cullen Skink (basically haddock chowder) which was hearty and tasty, and then we both enjoyed our Steak Pie and Beer-Battered Haddock entrees. We topped these off with scoops of chocolate and honeycomb ice cream. The breakfast included a buffet with cereals, yogurts, fruit and pastries; and, also a cooked breakfast. One of us had the full Scottish breakfast and the other got a special order of bacon and tomato. Overall, our accommodations were lovely, the staff extremely friendly and willing to overlook how we must have looked when we arrived, and the food for all of our meals was fantastic. The views of Loch Lomond make this a special place in general, but the hotel goes to great lengths to make a stay there a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

This morning we ate at this place and it was really lovely. The waiter was polite, nice and helpful. We felt welcomed since we stepped in and were instantly helped. We tried to do the West highland way for the second time but unfortunately we couldn't go on... but after walking so much, having painful feet, cold and hungry we were happy to stop at this place. Prices were good and you pay for what you get. The chef did an incredible jon because the food tasted really nice and fresh. It was warm and cozy. *I visited Scotland for the first time 2 years ago and fell in love with this country. People here are humble and willing to help whenever we needed it, the views are beautiful and I can breathe some fresh air. The only sad part is going back to my country and dreaming about the next time I will be able to go back. Thanks to everyone for our lovely experience!❤️

Stayed here whilst walking The West Highland Way .Lovely quaint hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. The bar was very relaxing after a long day and the breakfast the next morning set me up for a great day on the trail. Great staff. Loved the ferry ride across the Loch.

The room was comfy, and the staff were very friendly. BUT, the food was absolutely terrible. I’m trying to not be picky but it was really really bad, and majorly overpriced to the point that it’s a little insulting. Usually I’m not fussed and will eat whatever but it was inedible. The soup was way over seasoned, the chips were undercooked, and the muscles had a bad smell to them - you couldn’t eat them. If they fixed the food, this really would be a great hotel, truly. It’s the only restaurant in miles too, so I feel like it’s a necessity to have somewhat decent food. Come on, chef. Skip the packed lunch too if you’re hiking. We had the chicken mayo sandwich. 70% mayo, 20% chicken, 10% bread - 100% nasty.

Location is a dream, stopped with my partner for good SCOTTISH food, we both ordered steak pie but was disgusted with how freezing cold it was. I don't normally complain as I could eat a Highland coo... but asked for it heated up, wish I hadn't. On return, it was horrible, taste ,quality of meat and smell. Such a shame as it was empty ,only 4 people (counting ourselves) ,but come on??? Steak pie....easiest dinner ever, and to charge £21 quid each as of menu price, we obviously didn't pay. Avoid sadly 😥

Location is fantastic and the lodge was as you would expect for this kind of break - but the whole experience is spoiled by the onsite staff who could not be less interested, or less professional if they tried. Customers are clearly just an inconvenience to them, they are impolite, infact they are rude, they are unfriendly and treat you as though you are an irritation. We got a flavour of it when we phoned in advace of the trip to check out some details and got a gentleman on the phone who was exceptionally rude and unhelpful - we assumed that was just one member of staff, who was maybe having a bad day. However that set the standard for every interaction with a staff member over the time we spent there. We actually visited with a view to buying a lodge on the site, but we will now be looking elsewhere in the area purely on the back of the unhelpfullness of the staff. So great location, decent lodge - but the on-site staff are absolutely horrific.

Wow. Quite a feverish experience to spend two nights in the Ardlui Hotel pods, from start to end. ||The place is giving… Schitt’s Creek episode? In good and bad ways. ||We arrived by train on a tranquil Friday afternoon in the secluded community of Ardlui - there’s nothing there for miles and miles. ||First impressions were great with a stunning view of the Loch. Checking in was an interesting quest - the process took 40 minutes of waiting because the warden was on a break. Also we didn’t realise you had to press a bell to gain his attention. ||As we were waiting a member of staff came over and pinned a sign to the community board warning campers to boil water prior to drinking…. Odd? Problematic? Ecoli you might think? But no… just outdated water filters that were meant to be changed the week after. |You might have expected free bottled water for guests at this point. But you would have been wrong. The camping pod was nice, warm and unproblematic though. ||Moving on to some higlights we have Alex the barman/waiter who was just vibes. And the most professional by far. Great oufit mate! ||Skipping through images of our weekend we have some mouldy bread at the breakfast counter, questionably cleaned toilets and a surprisingly good mac and cheese. Great tunes playing at dinner too. Wonder if Alex made the playlist? ||Final thoughts - if you want an isolating, reality-shifting weekend, this place is for you. We shan’t be back!

Yelp
Ardlui Hotel was part of our West Highland Way Hike where we have to take the ferry to the other side. Our room was to the street side, therefore a little bit loud but in general nice. Dinner and Breakfast were fine.
