Ardo's Newstead - City Winery Cellar Door

We had a wonderful dinner at Carl’s. Our waiter was well versed in the wine offerings, we went with an Italian red. I got the kangaroo rump and my partner got the mushroom risotto. We shared the crispy potatoes, which is a must. Great ambience, a lovely little neighborhood bistro. We will be returning!

One word to describe Carl’s Wine Bar and Bistro - perfection. 🤩 The food served was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Desserts were interesting; the chef’s selection of magnums was a wonderful surprise. 😁 I have to say though, if I had to choose, the dish that brings absolute joy was the potatoes. 🤤🥰 They were insanely delicious. The best potatoes we ever had. Highly recommend foodies in Brisbane to check this bistro out. It’s Brisbane best kept secret! 🌻👍🏼

Popped in, as we always do, because we love love love this place. While we were sad that Luke wasn't working, we had an amazing surprise to see Emily from our other previous favorite place pouring our wine. Now we don't have to feel guilty about not going there anymore, and we'll definitely make even more of an effort to come more often. Great food, great wine, even better people.

I was reluctant to give too much praise as if it gets too popular I will not be able to get in!! Hans and the team are fab. Great food and top wine and all at half the prices of other places with bigger names. I have been over 10 times and I cannot speak more highly of this intimate and high class Wine Bar and super menus. Hans is just great!!! 6 stars

As a local in the area it’s really nice to have a up market yet cozy venue to visit. The vibes very relaxed with the staff making it a very friendly place to visit. I have to say the wine selection is on point but I could be biased. The venue has just had a brand new renovation. It was hard to take photos when everyone was there so here are some from my morning walk.

Great place to catch up with friends as it is very intimate. The scones were a bit too dense and we were expecting more than 1 prawn in the dish for the price but overall we enjoyed them . The wines we had as well were great! Will come back for sure. Thank You :)

Brilliant cafe. Beautiful wines. Service is fantastic and with the actual winemaker here we had some great chat about the wine making process. Ambience is comfortable and welcoming. Very relaxing and wicked good coffee too!
