Area De La Forêt D'orient - Logis Hôtel, Restaurant, Spa & Golf

This hotel is located in a beautiful area. We stayed on our return journey home and didn’t use the golf course or spa. The hotel advises it’s a four star hotel however the plaque at the entrance advises this was awarded in 2018 and to be renewed in 5 years. Staff were attentive and very helpful. Ground floor is well presented with gift shop and sports shop, with a bar and restaurant, which is booking only. We had a family suite that was spread across two floors. The room was spacious and recently decorated. Decoration felt rushed and incomplete, likely undertaken out of season. As others have said the bathrooms really let this hotel down. I appreciate that these are expensive but our bath was rusty, fittings were tired and mastic looked dirty with waste pipes given a quick coat of paint. It appears all family suites are on one floor. Acoustic separation is terrible between rooms as you can hear neighbours running up and down stairs. That said with younger children this quietens down early. The food we had was absolutely brilliant and well worth the money! With a bit of investment this could be a 4 star hotel

I don’t understand how this is a 4 star hotel (see other reviews that align with this) Tonnes of Mosquitos in the rooms with no nets (must have left window open all day to air room before arrival). Stayed overnight arrived midnight and had drilling literally in the wall next to my ear from 9am. When asked what it was the reception did nothing, actually denied it until I mentioned I could hear it whilst we were speaking. Then refused to find out what it was. No apology. You have to pay for spa Bathroom really outdated Saw a mouse in one corridor Can’t really find a positive for my nights stay which is a shame.

Stayed en route from South of France back to the UK. Booked at the last minute and checked in at 11pm. We had a duplex family room for a family of 4 for a very good price in December. The room itself was very good with all the modern amenities, cannot fault it. We didn't have time for breakfast as we needed to get back on the road.|Location initially felt a bit remote but actually it wasn't too far from the motorway and we also managed to see a fox, a hare and an owl on our way to the hotel, as it is in the forest. We have stayed in this area before in the summer and it is very pleasant with the lakes.|We will stay there again as it's a much nicer experience to break the journey.

Stopped over from ski-ing to Calais. It was a great find, cosy, warm and good food. The girl behind the bar Sat 4th Jan was so friendly and I want to thank her! The bed was super comfy and took spacious. ||My only criticism is that the toilet ceiling was a bit broken and so the room was cold. Skirting in the halls is missing, it just needs some more care. ||Def a great place to stay, lovely roaring fire to sit round too.

This is supposed to be a four-star hotel but I’d struggle to give it 3. When I arrived at dinner time I was told I couldn’t eat because the restaurant was full. I wasn’t offered dinner in my room. It was too late and I was too tired to go looking for a restaurant as this hotel is in the middle of nowhere. The room itself isn’t awful - it was decently spacious but the devil is in the details. The bathroom clearly hasn’t been updated since the 1980s and the sink was cracked and stained. The toilet was in its own little cubicle and the pipework was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned or painted in decades. The hairdryer was one of those fixed to the wall jobs with very yellowed old plastic. And the air conditioner was a big box mounted on the wall and despite turning down the fan speed it made a terrible racket all night. And to add insult to injury, there weren’t any drinks in the minibar fridge. Not even a couple of small bottles of water. This is not worthy of four stars at all. Poor quality considering the prices they are asking. Would not choose to stay there again.

Great location surrounded by forest and near a large lake. It has a nice golf course which most golfers would be happy with and comfortable and quiet rooms. The pool was welcome after a long drive. Disappointed by the restaurant as the quality of food didn't match the prices.

Good location, quiet place. Room was clean and big enough. All necessary conditions are in the room. We liked spa with its steam room, and controled amount of people inside. kangaroos outside were cute and attractive. I would like mosquitoes net on window, and changing the pillows, cause they were tough and uncomfortable.

A friend and I booked a family room which was split across two levels, with a large double bed upstairs and two single beds downstairs. We were very pleased with the value, much cheaper than buying two rooms at, say, a Premier Inn. The hotel was nicely decorated and clean, beds were comfortable and the bathrooms pleasant to use. Each level in our room had its own large flat-screen tv, the downstairs area also had chairs and a desk. When we checked in, we were informed that we had free use of the pool and the sauna. You don't get that at a Premier Inn! Unfortunately, we arrived too late to avail ourselves of that offer. Next time we will arrive earlier. The restaurant was absolutely exceptional. My friend and I both consider ourselves to be "foodies", we have eaten at many fine dining restaurants and the food here would not have been out of place in any of them. Simple recipes, cooked beautifully, with respect for the ingredients. The restaurant prices were excellent value. Make sure you try the langres cheese! I have eaten in places where the food was twice the price and half as good. My compliments to the chef! Breakfast was a buffet type-of-affair, but one with great quality and a fairly wide variety of foods to choose from. Really, very nice indeed. We didn't use the golf course, but my friend has plans to return with his golfing buddies, so happy was he with our experience at the hotel. This is the second time I have stayed at the here, it is located not far off the A5, in a perfect location to make a comfortable, overnight stop when driving from the UK to the South of France for a skiing trip.

Beautiful nature, excellent golf course, fresh air and pretty good looking hotel! Restaurant is quite ok if you go to eat there only once! After that food gets very repetitive ! Personnel is very young and sometimes lacking experience! You do not need to ask for a room upgrades! All rooms are same! To me not that nice as they could be!!! I do not mind the old furniture that's pretty cool but the small clever touches are missing!!! Who puts tresor in such a way you can't reach it???? Mattresses are old! We had to put blankets under the sheets so we do not feel the metal springs! Bathrooms are old and plastered with silicon, but clean!! If you can! Ask for a second floor rooms!! Why? Spa is located in first floor and it can stink all over the place! Sort of chemical overpowering warm spa smell! I had troubles with that! Overall it is clean and quiet !! Breakfast is not worth 13 euro!! We ate there only once! For Travel hackers: I recommend to get deals for a room between 70-80 euros a night! Anything above that is not worth it!!! Location is excellent! Highly recommended!
