It was not easy to find this place when we came from manhattan via public transportation. The Maps guided us to some industrial areas that seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. We had to cross a weird walkway bridge. We could not see much signs. The kids inside the venue were happy playing with friends. I did not like the food or drink there, and the pricing for the food were high in my opinion. We ended up getting a Lyft home and meeting a very friendly driver. Overall, good experience but probably not dreaming to return soon.

I had an absolute blast here! The games were exciting, the atmosphere was full of energy, and it felt like there was something fun for everyone. What really stood out, though, was how warm and welcoming the staff were especially Robert who was working the skating rink. He went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time, helping us get set up and offering tips along the way. It’s rare to find such friendly service paired with so much fun. Can’t wait to return!

An overly expensive zoo! I had gotten there around 9pm, and it was so crowded. And my large pizza pie cost $30. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. Just too expensive and too crowded. Also…while eating, you have people flying over your head from Ziplining. Just saying.

Fun place for kids. We went on a Saturday morning around 10am. We were able to buy tickets on Groupon to save money. It was no line and not packed in the morning. Perfect time to go. We did the 3 hour pass which was enough time for the kids to play. I recommend getting tickets in advance. The zip lining was fun. They enjoyed the ball pit and rock climbing. We didn't do any paintballing. Facility seemed clean. Arcade is extra and the kids enjoyed the games. Although we brought our own...Overpriced water!!!! $6 for a water bottle, ridiculous! They do have food but we didn't buy any. Overall a really fun place for kids. I do recommend.

Google
Location has a lot of great activities but staff are disorganized and dont have a sense of what is going on especially for a place that gets so busy and packed. our first party host was a gem to work with very attentive and kind. 2nd host was a waste of space. 🫶🏼

My friends and I wanted a thrilling day filled with adrenaline and badass vibes — and paintball was the perfect choice! We showed up ready for battle and left feeling like champions. The instructors were amazing at explaining everything, and the whole place was such a great experience. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Ultimate Adventure at Area 53! Area 53 is an absolute must-visit if you’re looking for an action-packed experience! From the moment we walked in, the energy was high, and the variety of activities kept us entertained for hours. The laser tag arena was intense and immersive, with cool obstacles that made it feel like a real battleground. The obstacle course and trampoline park added to the fun, making it a perfect spot for both kids and adults. The staff was friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth and safe experience. Whether you’re going with friends, family, or even on a date, Area 53 is the perfect place for some high-energy fun. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something different in NYC!

Google
I don’t normally post reviews so this had to be bad. This place is dirty and poorly maintained! HEALTH RISK, safest risk etc. A young girl vomit at the top of the ball pit! I quickly jumped in while and grabbed my kid! Employees were notified and an announcement was made on the loud speaker that the ball pit was closed! However the cleaning lady never showed up until I reported that it’s been 30 min since the incident! They did not caution off the area or anything! Mind you kids were still going into the ball pit where some fluids of the vomit went on! I had to keep telling parents and kids some one vomit it’s closed! I was disgusted after the cleaning lady came and mopped it with a regular mop and left! Kids started to go back in when I saw her returning from the entrance with maybe a new set of water for the mop she saw kids in there and turned back! I took my kids and that was it! BIG HEALTH VIOLATION! If any kid gets sick it’s because of this! The pit should’ve been closed for the rest of the day and throughly cleaned but I didn’t expect that because the place looked filthy and unkept! I grabbed my things and left that was it! The ball pit has chip bags other things in there! Should’ve never let me kid go in there. I took a picture from far away 30 min and vomit still there. (She mostly vomit the blue slushy she had)

Yelp
Visited for my daughters birthday. Kids had fun, they enjoyed the zip line and rock climbing. My boys enjoyed the games. The one issue I had was, many of the games were out of order. The food is also extremely over priced, I would never pay $5 for a bag of chips.... I did enjoy their lychee and rose wine cooler. Also realized I didn't need to pay, because I did not join in on any of the activities. Now I know... I'd go back

Yelp
Oi vey. I've thrown about 20 children's birthday parties in my lifetime, including at the other Area 53 location on Bridge St. This Area 53 (on Scholes St.) is by far the worst venue we've encountered. Support staff are remarkably disorganized and indifferent. We arrived early only to wait about 20 minutes to be helped by our so-called party hostess (so-called because she was not present for 99% of the time). Front-of-the-house, who were justifiably busy with other customers, did not try to help us track her down beyond sending an initial message. OK, understandable -- and no biggie by itself. But then there was another half an hour wait after our party time was supposed to have started because the hostess / venue could not locate more than half of the waivers that parents of minor guests had sent in previously. We had triple verified with these parents previously that they had filled out waivers and they verified again on the day of. Half an hour into our allotted party time, we were still trying to herd 15 antsy children in the crowded lobby while re-filling out 100% non-legally binding waivers for minor guests. The venue nickels and dimes in incredibly ridiculous ways. I'm all for conservation, but we had 15 guests and were given exactly 15 plates and 15 cups and 15 napkins, which were expected to be used for both savory food and ice cream cake and drinks, and in between paintball rounds (which made it hard to identify your previously used cups). When we asked for more serving ware, we couldn't track down our hostess in person or by phone. We left a request with another staff member and did not receive any help for another 45 minutes. Guests were reduced to using torn-up empty pizza boxes as plates. "Party rooms" feel like Siberian prisons. The subterranean spaces are freezing, held at around 60 degrees; filthy with sticky walls and detritus on the floor; tiny; and ugly, the sticky, pockmarked prison-cell walls adorned with little more than some epilepsy inducing strobe lights. (We had brought some decorations, but of course were unable to set them up beforehand as we were not allowed into the party room until 40 minutes after our party time had begun.) While this is not uncommon at party venues, be aware that if you want to feed your guests, you will be forced to order refreshments from a junky, low-quality, and overpriced menu of hyper processed foods. There are no juice, fruit or veggie options -- only yellow / red dye saturated Minute Maid "lemonade" and sugar soda; cold mystery meat nuggets and fries; bad pizza with white rubber in place of cheese. They do not make reasonable accommodations for dietary needs based on religion or disability -- e.g. if you need kosher/halal food, if you have celiac disease, etc... We were told we could not bring in two gluten free cupcakes for guests without incurring an enormous surcharge, which was something like 75% of the party package cost. Be aware that unless you rent out the entire space, your pre-teens and children even younger than that will be pitted against 20+ year old adults who sometimes come in full body armor. Face masks and other equipment do not appear to be sanitized between use. Our passive aggressive party hostess "forgot" to give us an arcade card that was supposed to come with the party package. We had to chase her down to ask for it as we were leaving. I could go on, but in the interests of not reliving this trauma for any longer than I have to, suffice it to say that I can't remember the last time I wrote a one star review. This Area 53 deserves it.

Yelp
Our visit was mostly enjoyable--my children had a great time, and the majority of the staff were polite and professional. However, I can not give a 5-star rating due to how an incident was handled by the manager on duty. While watching my children play, the manager approached me and claimed that the "man" I was speaking with had knocked over an employee's lunch. I was confused, as the person I had just been speaking with was my minor child. When I asked for clarification and confirmed she was referring to my child, the manager insisted I needed to pay at least $5 for the employee's lunch, regardless of whether it was an accident. I then asked if employees were allowed to eat in the play areas, but rather than giving a clear answer, the manager simply stated, "But now he has nothing to eat." Wanting to resolve the issue, I asked if I could apologize directly to the employee, and the manager agreed. However, when we approached the employee in the harness area, he, along with a female employee, became hostile. The female employee even suggested that we should be removed from the facility simply for asking for clarification on what had happened. Unfortunately, the manager failed to de-escalate the situation and allowed the employees to speak rudely to us. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable allowing my children to participate in any attractions that required a harness, as one of the involved employees was responsible for securing them. Instead, we chose to finish our visit by playing arcade games. So, while the facility itself was enjoyable, the way this situation was handled left a negative impression. I would encourage better conflict resolution training for management and staff to ensure that guests feel respected and safe during their visit.

Yelp
I came here for a friend's birthday party, and she had booked the private paintball session--but it was nothing like what was advertised. First, the location is sketchy. It's about a 10-minute walk from the L train, over an unlit metal pedestrian bridge, past abandoned freight trains. But that's not even why I'm giving this place one star. The private party session was supposed to be three hours, starting at 8:00 PM. However, we weren't even let into the party room until 9:00 PM. Our group was patient and understanding, but the disorganization was beyond frustrating. The package we booked promised three games of play. Since they started us late, they also seemed to have overbooked the time slot, so instead of rotating with three groups, we were stuck with four. After our second game, they suddenly brought out the birthday cake--an **ice cream cake, no less--**and told us we had three minutes before our last round started. Obviously, that's not enough time to serve and eat an ice cream cake before it melts. The staff had previously assured us they would extend our time because of the delay, but when we asked, they kept passing the blame, eventually admitting they gave us "false information." Then, instead of making it right, they started the last game before half of our group even made it onto the field--while also trying to upsell extra paintball ammunition in the process. On top of the complete lack of organization and rude, dismissive staff, the prices here are ridiculous. A hot dog (smaller than a Costco one) costs $10, a whole pizza is $30, and the camo suit rental is $17 (but gloves to protect your hands? Those cost another $20). Bottom line: We paid for a three-hour private party and barely got 30 minutes of actual playtime. The way they handled the situation was unprofessional and exploitative. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Yelp
Who is so excited to bring my kids here has so much potential. Let's start off by talking about the location. Obviously it's in a warehouse area of Brooklyn so it's almost impossible to get to buy public transportation. Because it needs to space. So if you plan on taking the L train you have a crazy walk to get here. Finally getting here we walked in outside was over 90° walk inside here and even though there's a giant fans There's zero air conditioning or air ventilation in this whole place. It smells horrific. As a parent do not bring your kids here unless you plan on getting your kids sick with some type of germs. The ball pit is super disgusting probably the sickest thing I've ever seen ever as a parent. Dont do for little kids. Everything costs extra...wanna roller skate $7 a kid wanna ride the motor cycle $10 for 10m arcade all that is extra. $80 for my two kids to do just a few things and half are so gross i wont let them even near it. The owners should be ashamed how gross it is. Places like this are why disease rubs rampit in brooklyn. I will say though that the staff is pretty cool. No problems there.

Yelp
Came for a party. This place is extremely fun for all ages. They have the kids area for 1 to 4 years old. And older. It's arcade games throughout the area which you have to purchase a card for an additional fee. The private party room package is a good size with 2 large tables for around 16 to 20 guests. You get to bring your own decorations and decorate the room according to your theme. I honestly didn't enjoy the food. The pizza was very blah not tasteful. I enjoyed it for the kids and pre teen. They had a blast. Great for kids party.

Yelp
Not fun for older kids 11- and up , great for the littles over all good place , bathrooms not so clean , party rooms amazing !!

Yelp
I am sad and sorry to say that we were pretty unimpressed with Area 53. Aside from the pretty ridiculous walk to find it (that is not spelled out on their website), it is overpriced, chaotic, and generally not kept up. If you want to go for just the high ropes and Rick climbing, then that will likely be a successful adventure. Otherwise, you have to pay $7 extra for bowling (per person), $8 for skates (per person), $8 for a lock, all on top of $42 per person... Along with that, the ski ball machines took our arcade card money and did not work. Then we were not helped by an employee when we pressed the call button and waited for a long time. I hope these problems are eventually fixed because it has a lot of potential!

Yelp
gotta hand it to them. their social media makes the place look great. The skating rink is way too small. we paid extra for skates in advance but didnt bother. theres really not much to do. the zip line is good, and the ceiling climbing thingamajig. but certainly not worth the $$$$$. I had to save the day for the kids by letting them play arcade games which is of course extra.

Yelp
Came here with my boyfriend and his kids for their Double Fun Night on Wednesdays and we had a BLAST! The one-star deduction is for the climate control because it was SO COLD inside. But other than that, the various features like the ropes course & zipline, the rock climbing and rollerskating, and of course the arcade, were all FUN as heck! Made me feel like a kid again! I appreciated that they had lockers for rent for your belongings and they also sell food inside.

Vanessa G.

Yelp
would not recommend!!!! The place is unkept, musty and chaotic. Don't go unless you have kids. Not a couples spot. It was dirty, unmanaged and just overall not fun. Left stressed.

Yelp
Told one of the workers about my social anxiety (felt comfortable around him) and he made me feel super safe/respected. I would recommend not wearing crocs lol

Yelp
Was here for a birthday event, it was kinda a disappointment. There was no air conditioning just big ceiling fans. Paid $7 per person for skates and paid additional for arcade games and $1 more for a new card. You can collect tickets and redeem your prize at the end.

Yelp
I had a laser tag party for my son 5 years ago...even though the pizza was over priced at $28 a box for a plain pie, we were satisfied overall. My son turned 15 this year and thought he wanted to do laser tag again until he saw paintball on the website. I arranged for a paintball party which took place at the Scholes st address. It was VERY DISORGANIZED! Initially the children in my party had to wait quite a while before they were able to go out and play their first game of paintball. They were hot in all of the clothing and getting antsy. After the first game they were able to have the pizza. Unfortunately, there was some confusion where the staff thought we were on our 3rd game of paintball because somehow another team went in our spot. (poor organization)  At this point I spoke with the manager, Diamond because I could see that there was not much time left and they hadn't played their 3rd game, and we hadn't cut the cake or sang happy birthday. She assured me that everything would be done and that they still had enough time. Although we had been given the ice cream cake, they were sent out for the second game, returned to the room for all of 5 minutes and then told to go back out for the 3rd game, with only 10 minutes left. (It was 10 minutes until the place closed) Our party was from 8-11. Their last game was cut short, we hadn't had a chance to cut the cake or sing Happy Birthday to my son and we had a limo waiting, which we paid for based on the time we expected the party to end. When I pay as much money as I did for this event to happen, I expect things to go as planned.  There were some errors on the part of the staff which caused our party to be rushed, and their final game was cut short. I feel that we are more than entitled to some amount of compensation because we didn't get what we paid for. Additionally, I felt that it is really unfair to only allow 200 paintballs per person to go with the package, knowing that the number of paintballs is insufficient for 3 games. Furthermore, forcing additional purchase of paintballs. We were advised to send an e-mail to an email address that they provided, with issues regarding compensation of any kind.  I sent an email on Feb. 3rd and have yet to hear anything! It seems like the e mail is a cop out just to get you out of their face. This also caused me to have to pay extra for the limo we rented because we went over our contracted time. SAVE YOUR MONEY! GO ELSEWHERE!

Yelp
With the right group this place is super fun. But regardless of a hype crowd or not it's a complete ripoff. The space is super tiny. The food cost more that an amusement park. The arcade games cost more that any arcade place and on top of that the "bonus" credit is useless and nontransferable. A few of the games were out of commission (no signs). The skating space is super small especially when it gets slightly packed or the kids rent the scooters that don't work and get abandoned in the rink. The plus is they allow outside food to be delivered (not that what we ordered was any better than what's served:/). Overall I will say I wouldn't mind returning to try some paintball and see if that sucks too or is the only worthwhile activity.

Yelp
Go with family and friends and you'll have so much fun. There's so much to do. You have roller skating, rock climbing, video games, timed rock climbing, paint ball, private party rooms and more. Area 53 is huge and perfect for family and friend events. You can make reservations and pay when you arrive. All the staff members are friendly and super patient when you have questions. ENJOY!

Yelp
Equipment is not great. The guns often jam letting you not play most of your round. Some workers are not the nicest but it is an ok experience to have once in awhile

Yelp
I went here to celebrate my friend's birthday. The place looks way smaller than they portray online. I only went to the adventure park section. In addition to paying $58 per person for entry, you would have to pay $8 for a lock to store your belongings if you don't have your own lock on hand. When I arrived, the lockers were all filled up, so my friends and I had to wait for a locker to be available before we can even play. The arcade is extra and skate rentals are around $6. I only had a slushy, and that was good even though the flavor I wanted was not available. The machine was messed up. For the $264 my friends and I spent combined, I think this experience is definitely over priced.

Yelp
I went there for a birthday party. The party room looked disgusting. The fabric that was hanging over the ceiling looked disgusting and moldy. The walls were dirty and had damage all over them. It didn't feel like there was any air conditioning in the play area. One of the slides looked like it had poop in it.

Yelp
It was so expensive the food was not only cold but disgusting and overpriced also the worker almost dropped me when taking off the thing also when i got stuck he just stood there i had a good time tho but seven dollars for candy and the roller rinks roller skates were so dirty in the shoes were nasty i also almost lost my phone in the ball pit and i fell in my butt and it hurt for two week's but it was a fun experience besides some if these tweeks all except the prices bur fonr liok down when your in the air

Yelp
Great for birthdays or getting your kids out the house! The have a lot of games and few attractions, kids had a blast. The staff was great and kid friendly they were roaming around answering questions. They have 1 snack vendor but it looked sketchy I ordered popcorn and bottled drinks instead. I wish they partnered with a local restaurant and had real snack foods not carnival snacks. After roller skating a burger would've been nice. Also Make sure to dress warm if you go in the winter months. I had my coat on the whole time ,there was no heat!! I'd come back in late spring , early summer or fall because the kids had so much fun.

Yelp
I came here for paintball as part of a birthday event for an open paintball session. Overall, they have a decent operation going given the challenging of being in NYC and the insane high demand as the only paintball place in the city. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU COME HERE: a. Wear hiking boots (or else you will slip). b. Wear full sleeve and full pant camo (or buy their onesie) - or else you will be easy to see and shoot c. Buy extra ammo (either come with it before hand or expect that you will need to buy some) It is a bit steep for $49 per person on a weekend for paintball, but things they do do well. 1. Safety management - I appreciate how they make sure people are safe 2. Relatively new equipment and gear - I mean the gear looked in decent shape 3. Layout - it was unique enough and challenging enough at the same time Some things that I wish was better, but I kind of understand... 1. A/C - its indoors! A/C would be lovely like other big indoor Arenas 2. Walkways - biggest hazard is slipping.

Yelp
Came here for a kids birthday party. Never been here before so was pleasantly surprised how massive the place was. Lots of activities one could choose from. Highlight for the kids was the zipline although does not work well for those who are scared of heights. There's also rock climbing and an inflatable stage for any ninja / wrestling activities. If you are into roller skating then there's a section for you too. No alcohol available at premises. I traveled from the city via the L line and it's about a 10 mins walk from the subway.

Yelp
Adventure park review: Great concept, sad execution. The place has a lot to offer, but the entire ambience is just run down, peeling paint, dark, dank, sad, and depressing. Admission is about $45pp and doesn't even include the arcade games, which are an extra charge (you buy a card and load money on it, a la Dave and Busters). The best part for me was the aerial obstacle course. But even that isn't worth the hefty admission
google avatar

Mookie P.

Yelp
I decided to bring my son and his friends here for his birthday. It was nothing like the videos and pictures online. There's not much for the kids to do but they made the best of it. 50% of the games were out of order. It was a waste of my time and money. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
This play space is the perfect spot to spend on a rainy day. We really had fun here. It's a bit pricey for what you get since it's about $60 for 3 hours on the weekend, and you don't have any option to get only one or 2 hours. There's a ropes course with a zip line, a bunch of rock walls, an area with some ropes and ninja like obstacles, jousting. They also had paid roller skating, arcade games, and laser maze. It's a bummer that the laser maze was an extra fee, but you can go in the room and it didn't seem all that. The staff working here were very friendly and helpful. I would have liked to see a prorated cost option since you may be done with it after an hour. It doesn't take that long to do the ropes course, and the rock walls are very hard to do since they don't provide rock climbing shoes.

Yelp
We came here for my youngest sons 20th birthday. It's not a large place and not very crowded but we came on a Monday. I'm not sure how crowded it gets during the weekend. There were mostly teens and younger kids here. 90.00 seems a bit steep for 2 people with full access to everything for 3 hours. In addition, you have to put money on a card to play the arcade games which seems like a rip off considering you paid 45.00 to get in here‍ and everything else is included other than the food. And spectators have to pay 15.00 just to sit and watch if they don't want to participate in anything The food prices are ridiculous and the parking is horrendous. There's literally NO where to park and you have to park blocks away & the neighbor looks sketchy even during the day. I would never come here at night. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

Yelp
A small warehouse turned indoor attraction tucked in Brooklyn. I felt like a big kid at a small amusement park. Admission is a little pricey, but I did have fun. After paying and checking in, you can utilize their lockers to store away your belongings (make sure to bring your own lock or pay $7 to rent one). Staff was really helpful and courteous. They made sure no one was cutting the lines. We went straight to the obstacle rope course in the back. You have to get strapped into a harness first and then wait on line to go up the stairs. The whole time you are attached to a sliding rope that attaches to the course. Not gonna lie, some of the "courses" were challenging. If you're afraid of heights you might reconsider. You won't fall down cause you're strapped in but it does get scary looking down. One complaint is how crowded it was. There should be some crowd control because it was crowded and congested. The zip line, albeit short, was really fun. Rock climbing was tough. I tried the medium level and was struggling. There's no instructions on how to get down though, you just have to kick off the wall and slowly come down. We then played the battle beam. Which was fun as an adult. A lot of the arcade games were out of operation or broken. But there was a good selection of games. The slides are too windy and small for adults. Last but not least was the indoor roller skating rink. Boy it was tough! People were falling on their butts left and right. Kinda remind me of the stranger things episode. It's was $5 for rentals. I probably won't come again, but if it's your first time, come with a group and have fun being a big kid again.

Yelp
This Review is strictly about Adventure Park. The concept of this spot in Brooklyn is really cool. It's located in an industrial park so though may look sketchy, it's not. What they have: --Zip lining --Small Roller skating rink (with rentals) -- Several Rock Climbing obstacles --Rope Course --Slide --"Gladiator" Battle Beam --Ninja Course --Lazer Maze --Arcade Food They serve food as well, but more like snacks and they have lockers as well (you can bring your own lock or purchase one, which I wish I knew initially). My Experience/Why My Rating (Went on a Saturday Night) I don't think I felt unsafe, but I can see why someone could go unchecked because so much is going on that someone could be missed. I made sure I was checked before moving on, but little kids are running all over the place here, and it's hard to keep track sometimes. The rock climbing and rope course I felt okay at in terms of people traffic on a weekend(they were my favs actually!). The Ninja Course, Lazer Maze, and Battle Beam? Ugh... There is no regulation in that area and little kids are literally running at you and hitting you with things, not caring who you are. I went here on a date and though we both had our own fun, but the lack of structure when it came to these activity stations it made them not fun to do. I totally understand that it is up to parents to watch over their kids so can't fault the business there, but having no employees in certain areas can make it so dangerous and really not fun for everyone else trying to actually do the activity. Again, still had fun and took it all in stride, but with the expensive of weekend pricing, having to buy a lock on site, and little kids running all over with no employees watching at certain stations, it gets a bit chaotic. Would I go again? Ya know, maybe. I didn't have a bad time, I really just got concerned by these little kids running around all over mixing with adults and getting hurt. Really, more employees at certain stations would be cool. We can't enjoy certain things like Lazer Maze cause kids just start running in there during a session.

Yelp
The older gentleman by the skating area went out of his way to help us, but some of the younger workers (especially the front desk) were busy talking to each other and acted annoyed when asked for help. Hardly any guests were here for the Thurs family night special and I can now see why. I think the place could benefit from on-site managerial presence to make people feel more welcome.

Yelp
Went for Adult Night. There weren't too many people there so it was great- no wait, no lines. The staff was pretty nice and efficient. The DJ was great. It was $72 for 2 people (+ $21 spent on arcade games), this included skate rentals. Food & arcade games were not included. Bring your own lock for the locker. The three hour time slot was enough time to do everything, granted there aren't many attractions. Only complaint is the "security" door guy was extremely rude. I filled out the waiver before arriving & instead of listening to me tell him that, he yelled and insinuated I was wrong. Bad first impression.

Yelp
Indoor adventure park with paint ball, games (skee ball, air hockey, etc). They also had binge jumping--which I'm a little scared of, but some of family members indulged in. I came for my cousin's birthday party- I live pretty far away and had a long drive, so I missed out on the majority of the activities. However, all the kids seemed to be having a grand old time. I'd say the place is ample, in terms of celebrating a birthday here, but it seems the costs are a bit expensive and the place is very out of the way. Maybe not for everyone, but definitely for me. I'd say one of the only benefits of the are all, is that the block appeared to be a dead end--so you could get a parking spot on the same block and you won't have to walk too far.

Yelp
I had a great time here, I do feel like the crowd was a bit young but I might've came on the wrong day. Supposedly there's an "adult night". I think you get alot for your Buck, renting the skates are an additional $5, don't be like me and wear sandals I had to borrow my friends sneakers for most of the activities. Overall it was a day we'll spent. You can have date night here, a girls night out, or an outting with your kids. I plan to bring my nephews back.

Yelp
You know those places that you just know started off with a good concept when you hear about them but don't live up to the hype once you actually go? Like somewhere along the way, the plot was lost making the final execution extremely lackluster? Area 53 is that. And don't get me wrong, the reviews on here warned me of that prior to going. HOWEVER, my date really wanted to go because he personally knew people who had been there and had fun so we decided to check it out for ourselves to make our own judgements. My two best friends also came along so in total it was 4 of us. After checking the website last week, we decided Thursday night would be our best bet being that it's heavily advertised on their page as "Adult Night." I'm not the biggest fan of being in places with lots of kids running around lol, gives me major anxiety. We went with this location because it had more to offer compared to the other. Let's get into it. We got there a little after 9pm. It was very empty. A group of teenagers were getting ready for paintball and there were about 8 other people total in the adventure park, which I did not mind at all. The less crowded, the better. It was $160 just for admission. Now to me? That price is absolutely insane. ESPECIALLY considering the fact that it doesn't include the price of skate rentals OR the arcade OR any type of food voucher. It's highway robbery, plain and simple. You would think with the amount of reviews complaining about this that they'd make some changes but clearly that's not the case. If they were smart, they'd realize giving out a few arcade tokens or including skate rentals in the admission price would be an incentive for people to spend more money at their establishment. Then maybe they wouldn't be so damn dead on a Thursday night in Williamsburg, which is crawling with people looking for something fun to do. Now correct me if I'm wrong but when they first opened up, their IG page pretty much marketed them as an adult adventure park. With that in mind, it's very underwhelming. My best friend got there before the rest of us because he was coming from the city and he said verbatim it gave "community center vibes." And that's exactly what it was. The adventure park that looks sooooo fun on Instagram was wack as hell. The zip line was probably the most interesting thing about the entire place and even that was lackluster. A small child would definitely have fun but as an adult, if I'm paying $50 just for that (because remember, everything else is an added cost), I need it to be 10x more exciting. We tried the jousting thingy afterwards where you duel with a partner on the balance beam, it was cool but you can only do so much of that lol. We decided to get food and drinks elsewhere because their selection sucked and before we left we hit the Photo Booth. EVEN THE PHOTO BOOTH WAS IN ON THE SCAM! It was like $5 I think, (idk I didn't pay) BUT at the end when it prompts you to choose how you want your pics, we opted for the 4 vertical strips. It then proceeded to ask us how many copies we wanted which was confusing considering it just said 4 strips. So we put in 4 and it asked us for an extra $18! We were like hellllll no so we entered 0 right? 4 copies still came out. It's like the machine purposely tried to confuse us into thinking we would only get one copy! Imagine how many people they've jipped with that. Crazy. We left afterwards, weren't even there for 2 hours. The last thing I want to make sure I say is that the people in charge of putting us in the harnesses need to be trained properly on how not to be unprofessional and inappropriate. The blatant flirting coming from BOTH the young man and lady in that section was super cringeworthy and annoying to say the least. If I can smell your nasty breath, you're TOO close. And it's already weird when they have to quite literally touch you to do their job. The guy asked us which guy was with which girl referring to my best friend and I? Literally no correlation to what he was doing. She was so scared of the height at first that she changed her mind and stayed down there with them but then ended up facing her damn fear because they were making her so uncomfortable! Just to give you an idea of how annoying they were being. And then when we came back down, the guy had the audacity to ask me if I liked the girl who put my harness on so he could give me her number.. as my date was coming down the stairs. Absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. It's safe to say we will not be returning.

Yelp
Having seen this pop up on my Instagram, I knew I had to go the second I watched a video of it. The walk there, let's not ignore, was a trek. We even walked up and down some stairs. Before entering Adventure Park, you sign a wavier. Adventure Park was a lot smaller than it looked in videos. For around $53, you can rock climb, go through a rope course, zip-line, challenge someone on a Battle Beam, roller skate (with a fee for skates), play arcade games (with a fee), go on 2 slides, and tackle some random obstacles. There were a couple sanitation stations and also lockers, so make sure to bring a lock. Go right when it opens to have the park pretty much to yourself! I really enjoyed the rope course despite having a huge fear of heights. There wasn't that much to do honestly for the price, but I still had a great time and enjoyed feeling like a kid again. I would recommend going at least once!

Yelp
My son 's party was perfect, easy and the kids had a lot fun. I wanted to say a big thank you to Eric, he was very kind and helped us.

Yelp
Area 53 is like an adult playground on Tuesday nights. This was a great little date night spent with endless laughs! There's rollerblading, ziplining, climbing, arcade games and so much more. It's 21+ on Tuesday nights 8pm-12am, and we came early and beat the rush. Knocking down one star only because there was a snake wrapped around one of the workers necks at the food station. Although he was working the cash register, he was still handing out drinks and such so I don't feel like it's sanitary to have a snake around food. Also I'm deathly afraid of snakes so it was off putting in general lol.

Yelp
Area 53 is the only paintball place I've gone to in the city, so I don't have much to compare it to - but it was fun! First off, make sure you come prepared for your visit. The only equipment they give you is the gun, ammo (you will end up buying more), and a protective mask - so the rest is up to you! I recommend wearing lots of layers, a hat/hood, and clothes that you don't mind getting very dirty. We bought a case of ammo to share for about $70, which is great if you're here with a large group. My group had a 3 hour time slot and were able to play at least 6 games within that time frame - including 3 rounds of capture the flag. Between every game, you get a 10 minute break. The only negative was how inconsistent the guns were - some would jam often, some had a really short firing range, and some would have ammo falling out. You really just had to get lucky, but at least we would switch guns with each round. Also, I suggest bringing snacks with you because their selection is very limited!

Yelp
Super FUN the kids had so much fun for my sons 10th birthday party. We rented the Karaoke Room and had more then enough room for the adults and kids when they came on the room. I would definitely go back with a few friends they have BYOB night for adult so the parents will be back!

Yelp
Came here for my birthday a couple days ago. It was beyond fun. We came in onesies to play paintball. The staff were cool and funny and very accommodating. If you're not willing to run through a terrain that's rocky/ slippery it's not for you but I think you should give it a try. Definitely gonna come back

Yelp
Came in for a date night! I purchased tickets online but it didn't seem to make a difference from purchasing online and in person. They do have lockers, bring your own locks if you do not want to pay $7 for a lock. When we came it was Adults Only night, BYOB!!! There's an obstacle course, as well as an arcade, rock climbing, roller blading, and slides. We did the obstacle course first to get it out the way because it got filled pretty quickly. Rock climbing was fun, they have about 3 different walls you can try. Some of the arcade games did not work but that's ok. The rollerblade rink isn't big so I would recommend doing it last or first. You will need the complete 3 hours to do everything. Nonetheless, it was a fun date night.

Yelp
This place is expensive and very dirty. This place has garbage all over the place. Staff are rude and don't know anything. The ice machine for beverages was down, and they're still selling flat soda without ice. Waste of money. I do not recommend.

Yelp
This place is a kid's dream! But adults can have some fun here too! I came here to celebrate a friends 30th birthday and a time was had! While we didn't do some things that seem more kid friendly we went all in on the rock climbing, zip lining and suspended obstacle course. That's right the obstacle course is high up in the air and you have to go through it to reach the zip line. It's super nerve racking even though you are harnessed in. You have to balance and climb through different wire bridges, balance beams and tight rope like activities. Some I skipped over b/c it was just too nerve racking for me so if your afraid of heights I do not suggest this. The zip lining was fun, you swing around the facility which is huge! While theres no alcohol served they do have pizza, snacks, and drinks. I think theres also some special programming geared for adults on certain days but other than that it's definitely more of a kids zone. It's located about 12-15 min from the train in a pretty desolate area. Definitely was a bit spooky at night and I had to cross a bridge.

Yelp
I went to Area 53 for a birthday party on a Sunday evening & it was my first time there. The area where this place is is very secluded & dark. I was lucky enough to find parking less than a block away but even that short walk was nerve-racking for us. Once inside the security was a bit passive-aggressive, especially for a place with a large number of kids. I was suppose to complete the waiver for my daughter online before we arrived but hadn't gotten around to it so I did it upon arrival. It was quick & we were directed up to the party room right after. I suggest you fill the waivers out online, it saves you the hassle of waiting & dealing with the chaos at the door. The lines were crazy for everything & there were kids everywhere. This is a place for adults & children so it's safe to say that if you aren't a fan of being in a place where there are tons of kids then this is not the place for you. They do have adult night during the week, I believe it's on Tuesday's but if you're looking for alcoholic beverages I don't think they sell that. The place is huge with lots of fun things to do especially the ziplining. I do have to mention that the day we went it was cold outside but inside wasn't any warmer. I had to keep my jacket on the entire time & I was not the only one complaining about it being cold. As for the concession stand, we could only get ice cream because what we wanted (a pretzel) wasn't available & they were cleaning up so I really can't speak on the food quality.
