This place offers a stunning view of the Bay Area and Amalfi coast, there’s a small museum with porcelains and coins. Toilets are available, but there’s no bar/coffee machines. It’s quite difficult to get there with the bus #19 from the city center, because it’s not so frequent, but it’s still the most convenient way to avoid traffic jam.

A fantastic piece of history. We walked up to the castle from Salerno, the roads are as interesting to cross as anywhere else in the town so beware! The views from the walls are amazing and there are information plaques with Italian and English transitions. The toilets are clean and tidy, the only negative is that there is a lot of rubbish - this seems to be a problem everywhere here unfortunately. A shame as it's a beautiful place to visit We didn't visit the museum, we didn't have time on this visit Definitely make it a part of your visit

We walked from the city to the castle. There is a good track all the way complete with steps where needed. The castle ruins have not been restored and are in poor condition. It was disappointing that there was no signage or commentary available to explain the various points around the site. The museum wasn’t really worth paying to see other than us the toilet. The walk to the site and the view were the best bits for me. It would be great if the caretakers put a bit of effort into restoring the site and explain the historic points around the ruins.

It's a must have I think, ruins of the castle lookin incredible at night. The view from the castle is fantastic, the museum is tiny. Prices at the bar are too high, one ice cream is €3

A nice castle with a bit of a confusing layout, signs aren’t very clear but staff are friendly. The lift only works for floors 0 and 3, though hopefully staff can assist you if you need access to 1 & 2 by lift.

After seeing the Arechi Castle from the port, I decided to hike up to it. The path through the city and up the hill (approximately 400 meters above sea level) was easy to follow. It is pretty steep at times and definitely a workout. The castle itself is nothing special but the view from the top (from the Amalfi coast down to Cilento) is very nice.

Great view for Salerno. The only issue is entry - you need to walk narrow pedestrian road which crazy Italians driving 50km/h+ few centimeters from you. I was hit by mirror of BMW - the guy even didn’t ask if I’m fine. So best walk in the middle and force them to slow down or be hit by one of … anyhow worth visiting even when access is shitty

The castle’s origins date back to the Lombard period, and it has undergone various modifications over the centuries, including during the Norman and Angevin eras.
